Thx so much. I am 71 and just getting into the sport. Now I feel ok about asking , or going into my local shop for help.

Mega Thx, Awesome suggestions for us beginners! Although I have been lucky enough to really enhance my materials with some great deals on eBay. You’ve definitely increased my knowledge on some other things I have gotten since starting a few months ago. I especially liked the tip so I can determine the differences in wet/dry fly hackle feathers

I too found dairiki to be weak hooks. It always surprised me that they were Flaglers go to. I suppose the size and strength of the average east coast trout doesn't pull as hard as the west coast trout???
