- How did my first sprint triathlon of the year go? I headed to the Southam sprint triathlon to use it as a training race. Here's how it went...
Thank you for watching the swim, bike, run, stu RUclips channel.
Well done Stu! I was cold just watching 🥶 Jenna had the right idea wearing the dryrobe 😁
Thanks. Yeh jenna is a legend. Getting up at stupid o'clock on a cold Sunday morning to support me. Fair play to her although I had to try and wrestle my dry robe back when I had finished 🤣🤣
Hahaha so true Stu, 90% of triathlons could start at 10am. Congratulations on hitting 1k!
Thank you. I didn't really think I'd ever get to 1k subs so it's not something I've really thought about and il be honest I'm not even sure what it means 🙈🤣 But hey its a nice milestone to tick of. Just enjoying making the content, bit hooked on RUclips now 👌
Congrats on 1k subs, Stu 💪💪 Well deserved mate.
Thank you. I actually can't believe it to be honest. I'm still humbled that anyone watches any of my videos. It's all very much appreciated.
Darts, dominoes and pool is the new triathlon :)
Yes, I bloody love this 😍 This is my new sport 🤣🤣
Well, done Stu! I was cold just watching Jenna have the right idea of wearing the dry robe. Congrats on 1k subs, Stu well deserved mate. Way to crush it, Stu. Strong work. Hahaha so true Stu, 90% of triathlons could start at 10am. Congratulations on hitting 1k! Thank you. I didn't really think I'd ever get to 1k subs so it's not something I've really thought about and I'll be honest I'm not even sure what it means but hey, it’s a nice milestone to tick off. Just enjoy making the content, a bit hooked on RUclips now. Well done Stu, watching your vid made us thankful we migrated to Aus. Nice job Stu! Congrats on hitting 1K subs as well, that's awesome! I agree the hardest part about triathlon is getting my wife out of bed on race day. Great start to the season, well done on hitting 1k. Well done Stu, great job getting it done. Well done Stu looked like a cold one! Nice one Stu, you said what most people probably think about the early mornings. Congratulations on 1k.
Stu couldn't believe it. One thousand subscribers on his RUclips channel. He never thought he would reach such a milestone, but here he was, basking in the glory of hitting 1k. As he read the comments on his latest video, he couldn't help but chuckle at some of the feedback from his viewers.
"I was cold just watching Jenna, had the right idea wearing the dry robe," one comment read. Stu couldn't argue with that. Watching Jenna brave the chilly weather in her warm robe definitely made him shiver a bit.
"Congrats on 1k subs, Stu well deserved mate. Way to crush it!" another comment exclaimed. Stu felt a warm glow of pride at the recognition of his hard work paying off.
"Hahaha so true Stu, 90% of triathlons could start at 10 am," one viewer joked. Stu couldn't help but laugh. The early morning starts for triathlons were definitely not for the faint of heart.
As he read through more comments, Stu felt a sense of gratitude and joy at the support from his viewers. It was nice to know that his content was resonating with people and that they appreciated the effort he put into creating it.
"I didn't really think I'd ever get to 1k subs so it's not something I've really thought about and I'll be honest I'm not even sure what it means but hey, it’s a nice milestone to tick off," Stu thought, reflecting on his journey to reaching 1k subscribers. He was just grateful to be able to share his passion for triathlons with others.
"Just enjoying making the content, a bit hooked on RUclips now," Stu mused. Creating videos had become a source of joy and fulfillment for him, and he was excited to see where this new adventure would take him.
"Well done Stu, watching your vid made us thankful we migrated to Aus," another comment read. Stu chuckled at the thought of his videos inspiring someone to move to Australia. He never thought his content would have such an impact.
"Nice job Stu! Congrats on hitting 1K subs as well, that's awesome!" another viewer chimed in. Stu felt a surge of pride at the praise and encouragement from his audience. It was moments like these that made all the hard work worth it.
"I agree the hardest part about triathlon is getting my wife out of bed on race day," one viewer confessed. Stu couldn't help but laugh at the relatable struggle of early morning race starts and the difficulty of dragging a reluctant spouse out of bed.
Great start to the season, well done on hitting 1k," another comment praised. Stu felt a sense of accomplishment at the recognition of his dedication to his channel and his passion for triathlons.
"Well done Stu, great job getting it done. Well done Stu looked a cold one!" another viewer remarked. Stu smiled at the acknowledgment of the challenging conditions he often faced while training and competing in triathlons.
"Nice one Stu, you said what most people probably think about the early mornings. Congratulations on 1k," the final comment read. Stu felt a swell of gratitude and happiness at the outpouring of support and positivity from his viewers.
As Stu closed his laptop, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and satisfaction at how far he had come on his RUclips journey. Hitting 1k subscribers was just the beginning, and he was excited to continue creating content that inspired, entertained, and connected with his audience. With a renewed sense of purpose and passion, Stu looked forward to the adventures that lay ahead in the world of triathlons and RUclips. And who knows, maybe one day he would even hit 10k subscribers. The possibilities were endless, and Stu was ready to embrace them all with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. CONGRATS FROM OZ AND STAY THERE IN THE COLD AND JUST DO YOUR THING.
Thank you very much. It's very much appreciated 👌
Nice job Stu! Congrats on hitting 1K subs as well, that's awesome! I agree the hardest part about triathlon is getting my wife out of bed on race day 🤣
Thank you. I never thought I would get anywhere near 1k subs so it's a nice suprise. The hardest part is me getting up, she is alright about it 🤣 Without Jenna it's super hard to make race day content so it's great that she helps me so willingly 👌
Well done Stu, great job getting it done 👍
Thanks very much. Nice to get the first one done of the season. Iron out all the mistakes I made 🙈 But I had a good time 👌
Nice one, Stu. I hope you got all those chores done in the house. Well done on a good day at the office, nice to get a good race banked.
Thank you. Yeh it's nice to get a nice steady one done and something to build onto. Surprised myself with how good I felt. Let's see if I can carry that on for the rest of this year. 🙈
Nice to get the first out of the way and well done. I take my hat off to you doing those pool triathlons. I think the people in the way would do my head in, but I guess if it's for an easy start to the season, then no bother!
Yeh always good to get one ticked of. The pool thing doesn't usually bother me, probably because when I do pool sprints I'm not to bothered about my time really so I don't mind sitting behind people. I lost about 20-30 seconds on the pool but over all it doesn't really affect my finish time.
Well done Stu....looked a cold one !
Thank you. Appreciate it. Did I mention it was cold 🤣🤣 Roll on summer 👌
Way to crush it Stu . Strong work 💪🏾💪🏾
Thank you. Appreciate it. Had a great morning. If a little cold 🥶
Nice one Stu. Good to be relaxed for first event and enjoy it - once you’ve been up a while 😂
Could you tell I'm not a morning person 🤔🤣🤣 Yeh I like to start the year with no pressure. Other than enjoying it. Last year I was struggling to run a sun 30 5k so to run sub 25 at a tri fairly easily is a confidence boost 👌
Well done Stu 💪, watching your vid made us thankful we migrated to Aus 🥶
Yeh I completely get that 🤣🤣 UK races in spring aren't my favourite as you can tell 🤣🤣
Nice one Stu, you said what most people probably think about yhe early mornings. Congratulations on 1k
Yeh I just struggle with early morning. I feel like I kept it to myself quite well 🤣🤣 And thank you, it's your fault I'm on the youtube journey. Its one of your videos that made me start. Surprised that I've got to 1k to be honest 🙈
Well done for getting it done, proper grass roots try, love it!!!!
It was great, low key, no pressure. Really enjoyed it. Gotta support these smaller local races 👌
@@SwimBikeRunStu absolutely and yet the only pressure comes from within, my mantra is “no one else gives a fuck”😂😂
See you on Sunday buddy. Great video. 1k subbers!!
Yes you will 👌 Looking forward to it 😎
sub 999!! Simon from Southam Tri here. - great vid, didn't know we had a RUclips personality in the ranks. many thanks for entering, great video and see you in September maybe. BTW - food was not far from where you were sat - bacon rolls, crisps, biscuits tea, coffee, hot choc .... ask for the kiosk next time :)
Don't worry she found the food 🤣🤣 First time at your event and really enjoyed it. Thank you for putting it on despite all the hs2 goings on. See if we can get a cov tri crew there in the autumn 👌 Thanks for being number 999 👍
He wants a free entry next time after all these watches 😂
@triathlondebs to be fair its the best priced triathlon I have done. Very reasonably priced. Good value for money. 👌
Well done Stu, 7 mins for 800m is quick. And sub-25 on the field💪I did 24K bike in 1:03 but I was on the mtb🚂. Slowly catching up on your videos, I like to watch them all the way through so need to set aside time😊
Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos. It's much appreciated 👌 I had a fun morning, going through the motions to see if I could remember what to do after having a winter off 🤣🤣 Looking forward to the rest of the season now 👌
@@SwimBikeRunStu Yes, now’s the time we hopefully reap the rewards of the winter training😊
Well done Stu!
Thanks very much. Appreciate it. Thanks for watching 👌
Great vlog Stu and loved the onboard cam bike ride. You was flying past people it was like you own bike hunt carrot situation. nice warmer for the season and plenty more to come.
There was also plenty of people passing me. It was fun that we could try and catch people in front of us. Was a fun little event. Really enjoyed it. Much more fun than an ironman 🤣🤣
@@SwimBikeRunStu looked like you was having fun on the bike and doing laps of a field like school PE lessons.
@triathlonfat2fit yeh it felt a but like that 🤣🤣
Some very familiar roads to me out near Southam, also recognise some faces from Rugby Tri, good result Stu
Yeh unfortunately I also know welsh road so wasn't looking forward to riding those hills back into Southam 🤣🤣 Was looking forward to the road out to Draycott before it changed 🙈 Hey ho it was all good fun.
@@SwimBikeRunStu Yeah that is a nice one especially if you can get the wind behind you but either you’d hit some climbs on the way back
Nice one Stu! Enjoyed doing this triathlon last year! It was just as cold this year! 😂
You could have told me before I signed up 🤣🤣 I honestly was expecting it to be a bit warmer. 🙈 Was good fun though.
Looked pretty strong in all 3 disciplines, training clearly paying off. Cracking job well done. Love to do one of these smaller events but you pretty much just talked me out of it 😂😂
You should definitely have a go at one. I'm not the greatest motivator am I 🙈🤣 They are great fun, no pressure. You would have a great time for sure. I'm just not good in the mornings 🤣🤣
Great start to the season, well done on hitting 1k 👊
Thank you. Enjoyed having a little hit out. Going through the motions to see if I could remember what to do 🤣🤣 Was fun.
Nice one Stu really enjoyed that , thinking about having ago at one myself now
You have all the skills to smash it. They are good fun even though I moan about it 🤣🤣 I think you would be great and you would definitely enjoy it.
1000 subs - congratulations Stu😀
Thank you. Appreciate it. Was a pleasant suprise 👌 Just need to make some decent content now 🤣🤣
Well done Stu. I'm doing my first sprint tri in July, when hopefully it'll be a bit warmer going from the pool to the bike 😳. Perhaps...
That's awesome, which one have you signed up for? Don't let my moaning put you of. They are great fun. 🤞 July will be warmer for you. I'm sure it will be. You will love it 👌
Just a local 'Try-a-Tri' in Brentwood (Essex). I actually did it 10 years ago but it was a bit of a 'one-off' at the time. I've become more interested in triathlon over the last year or so and thought it would be good to pick up where I left off. This time no mountain bike will be required 😂
Nice one Stu, good video 😊👍
Thanks fella. Not a bit of mud insight. 🤣🤣 How's your training going?
@@SwimBikeRunStu 🤣🤣 thankfully for you, don't need mud on a road sprint 👍
Training is on hold this week while I learn how to walk again after my fell race at Skiddaw on Sunday.. my legs are ruined 🤣🤣🤣
Nice work bro! New sub #997! Liked the video man
Thank you. I appreciate it. I never thought I'd get 10 subscribers so it blows me away that you say you are number 997. Means alot. Thank you.
Yes!!!!! 1k subs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't believe it hit 1k subs. Seemed a long way of 2 years ago 😮
That’s so awesome man :) 😀😀 congratulations! I hope I can get there by the end of the year 🤞🤞🤞
That is so out of order...... get your wife up at 6 am, lol. Was it cold by any chance???? I wasn't to sure 😅. Well done, you took the bike easy... looked like you was flying on the bike, overtaking people for fun. I will dona triathlon one day. Nice video, keep it up
I wish I was less moany but that's not who I am 🤣🤣 I love a good whinge. To be fair on the bike, plenty of people also over took me it's just good editing 🤣🤣 You definitely should have a go at triathlon, you would love it 👌
@SwimBikeRunStu Yeah, never change who you are. That was some good editing on the bike then. I'll do a triathlon before I'm 50. So 5 and a bit years to go lol
@thewingitrunner I will remind you every year until your 50 then 😜
@@SwimBikeRunStu haha. Dam it lol
Smashed it Stu, gotta be happy with that. Are you planning on doing Daventry this year?
Thank you. Yeh happy with that for sure. Nice start to the season. Afraid I can't do daventry as its the same weekend as I'm doing the great north run 👌
@@SwimBikeRunStu Ok nice. I’m planning to make Daventry my first tri back after a long term back injury, I was hoping to do Coventry but as you know it got cancelled
@@MightyMRG gives you more time to get fit and smash it 💪👌
🚲 🏊 🏃 😊😊
Thanks for watching. And apologies for my moaning 🤣🤣
@@SwimBikeRunStu pft I can't even do half of what you do so moan away lol
@@SwimBikeRunStu sorry idk why RUclips deleted part of my first message.
@@breakinginsanityscycle I love a good moan 🤣🤣
@@SwimBikeRunStu 😂 🤫😄
Pmsl. F@#£ing early mornings 😂
Can you tell I don't like early morning 🤔🤣
Just curious, is having the bike course on open roads that aren’t closed to traffic normal for local tri’s across the pond?
Its a good question. Yes most of our triathlons are on open roads. It's only ironman branded events in the UK that have closed roads. It's so expensive to close the roads here that it just makes entry fees crazy. It's sometimes annoying as you can get stuck in traffic like I did yesterday 🙈 Would be great if we could do them all on closed roads.
