I agree with Jessie on a lot, but you need to study the Bible. You can’t know someone without communicating with them. How does our Father communicate with us? Through His Word. Prayer also is wonderful, but scripture is the primary source to learn who He is, His likes & dislikes.
I used to have the same viewpoint, that the Bible has been corrupted. But in 1948, a little shepherd boy was walking his flock around the Dead Sea. One sheep got lost, and wondered into a cave. The boy left his herd to go after the one lost sheep. He started throwing rocks into the cave to try and scare out the sheep. He then heard a pot bust, being curious he went into the cave. What he found is what is now known as “The Dead Sea Scrolls” dating back to 100-150Bc. In them were the very books we have today in our Bible today. One of the most important finds was a complete copy of the Book of Isaiah, that after examination, matches what we have today (KJV) to the letter. Also found were fragments of Daniel, which has astonishing historical importance with prophetic events. This message isn’t meant to be antagonistic, you said you believe that there is a God, which is great. I’m merely trying to strengthen your faith. God preserves His word, and it has been validated through cross reference. And the closest thing we have to the original in English is the KVJ. Please, anyone reading this, look into what I’m saying. It’s true.
