haha i used to work for a mercedes dealer and i would always take this car when running errands for them...its luxurious and when you put it in sport+ its faaaast...ideal car...luxury when you want it....speed and passing ability when you need it
Great review! I've recently taken home a C400 and have been loving every minute of it so far. The drive selection lever on the steering column *does* take some time to get used to, but now I find myself reaching for it when I drive my wife's TDI VW. And the touch panel also allows you to enter names and numbers using gestures (drawing the letters and numbers out) without having to take your eyes off the road. It does take some time to get used to that (and the car's interface) as well, but once you do, you can do a lot more with it than you'd think at first. I wish there had been more C400s available when I purchased, I would have liked to get the leather seats and the DISTRONIC+ packages. Next time I suppose ;) Thanks!
Hey Steve you make good videos and I enjoy them. I was wanting to say that when you do the back seat view show you getting in on the passenger side that way it be easier to demonstrate.
As a car enthusiast with more resources than myself could u please find out the name of what I call the "double jointed" windshield wiper on the passenger side of most USA Mercedes Benz models? No one to this day can answer this question. Thanks. I saw it when u opened the hood. If u don't know what I'm referring to then next time ur in one turn on the wipers and open the hood and watch it in action.
Corey Nobles - I found this answer by doing a google search of "double jointed windshield wiper" - Long gone is Mercedes' huge one-blade wiper design, replaced instead by two that manage to cover an impressive amount of windshield. The passenger side one is double jointed, allowing it a greater range of motion. This isn't a feature unique to Mercedes-BENZ, but it does clear more of the glass and prevents that little shark-fin-shaped wiper gap at the bottom of the windshield.
What happens if you accidentally move the shifter while the car is in motion, I ask because most people are accustomed to wiper controls on that side of the steering column
I've never been a fan of mercedes-benz BEFORE, but now, i can see myself liking and buying a C-class, or even an S-class. but of course, when i get older and richer :)
I spent the day in this car last week. I love being in the drivers seat of this car. It feels very high end and you can spend less than $50,000 with the right packaging options. One of the nicest cars I have driven. My gripe would be the outside styling. I am not a big fan of it. I never got that omg feeling as I was walking up to it, until I sat in it. I am going back and forth about leasing it. Will I grow to like the styling?
Eric Bell get the sport package with the AMG body kit/wheels and rear spoiler in the right color (iridium silver is what I got) and the car just looks downright sharp from most angles. like you, i wasn't sold on the look in general, but fell in love with the particular setup i ended up getting. just a beautiful, beautiful car.
Bom, a estrela é e sempre será a estrela! como sempre as series C V6 desde 1998 vem se superando, e cada vez trazendo mais prazer e requinte em sua dirigibilidade, desculpe aos demais....mas Merça é e sempre será Merça.
I like everything but that damn table in the middle of the dash, it just looks like an after thought. I hope the designers would come up with something more integrated more streamlined designs other than this, BMW and Mazda are doing the same thing. I think Audi has a nice retractable design.
Honest mistake, he simply read the torque figure of the last 250 rather than the new 300. Mercedes tends to make errors on US site updates and correct later.
Most German Sedans do have a lot of bells and whistles (read gadgets and features). Sure sounds exciting. But what's the long term reliability of these vehicles? No one usually speaks about this during reviews. Obviously a car just out of the showroom is bound to perform well. But 3-5 years down the line is this vehicle going to spend more time in the garage than on the road? One important tenet of reliability is simplicity. The more gadgets, the more that can go wrong. 'Build quality' that is often spoken about regarding these vehicles usually relates to how the door shuts with a solid 'thud'. It should be much more though one feels ...
Sirion Gadgets are what guys like and want .By the way what gadgets are you talking about ? Most new cars have the same gadgets .cruise controls ,7,8 or 9 speed transmissions, GPS AWD ETC.My car just happens to have sport package which means stiffer ride better handling better lights which is for safety on dark roads .Upgrade audio if you like music which I do .Nice pick up Performance is always on top of the list .
I always tell people by what will make you happy . I won't be buying a AMG any time in the near future but I can get must of the gadgets it has for less money and still be happy. When the warranty is up I will trade it in. By that time I will be bored and some thing new would have come out. By the way customer service is second to none ,with Benz .
+duane howard I don't want all these gadgets. And I think it's more of a trend and sooner or later we will be fed up with all these features and come back to simplicity. But I only wanted to state: If you are worried how reliable these systems are you don't have to buy them. Personally I don't need Keyless go, rain sensors, lane departure warning, connectivity stuff...for very different reasons. Some of them aren't really safe, some aren't practical, some will date very fast. But I really enjoy cruise control.
I disagree with the paddles being on the wheel being fun. The paddles should be on the steering column like Infiniti so you know which is which at all times - just like racing cars and sports cars.
Steering in track vehicles is set up in a way that you never need to move your hands from nine and three. You cross at the forearms. Drifting/Show driving is the only time you take your hands off the wheel (assuming an automated transmission system). This also assumes electric steering which allows a greater than 45 degree wheel angle with the steering wheel turned 180 degrees (roughly, super roughly). In other words, paddles moving with the wheel is the future.
I have a C300. You forgot to demonstrate the “hands free” opening and closing of the trunk lid by merely doing a “kick” movement under the rear bumper to open and close the trunk lid. ☝️
As a constructive criticism on your reviews I feel wearing sunglasses and a cap in your reviews makes people want to trust you less when they can't see half your face let alone your eyes. To me you look like a stranger hiding something rather than someone I can walk up to and ask car advice to. But again, this is only my opinion. I do love the content of your videos.
Everyman Driver Dave It was odd with the sunglasses when it was raining?? Somehow i am of the Jamie Hyneman school of dress white collar shirt and khaki pants but you are good looking no mater what
Nicholas Villasenor I went in greater detail about why I wear a cap and sunglasses on episode #48 of this week's podcast: www.everymandriver.com/category/everyman-driver-podcast/
Everyman Driver Hey Dave, I heard your podcast and I can totally relate to having sensitive eyes. Swimming anywhere (lake, pool, or beach) is a pain when water gets in my eyes. As a professional graphic designer and someone who grew up with strict parents, I had it drilled into my head that speaking to anybody with sunglasses on was rude and unprofessional. I apologize if I came off as rude or ignorant of your previous reviews. I've been a subscriber for awhile and love the videos from the Everyman Driver channel.
And so for the same price of a Genesis 5.0 and possibly an Equus, where is it justified? Because it's German? I'd go with a Sonata over this to be honest. And then with the rest of the money, I'd use it to by another Hyundai.
You're doing a good job. My favorite car reviewer on youtube.
MrRandomshiznitz Thank you... I appreciate the support and for leaving a comment - Dave

heated and cooled seats nice, the roof is really dope and dash looks futuristic
I like everything about this car except for that fixed screen in the dash.
My favorite reviewer! You always show things the consumer cares about! BTW that interior is just amazing besides the tablet screen but I can dig it.
Great review Dave! I hope to see more of these higher quality vids
First video I have seen on the channel: an excellent review! Very detailed, well demonstrated, and very clear. Subscribed!
MB definitely upped its game with the c400. Definitely competitive with the S4 and 335i, which are no slouches.
Great review, detailed and tells people everything a real buyer wants to know, but not being boring. Keep it up! Definitely subscribing
Superman is back!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome review.
Bryan Perez Nice catch - Dave
Great video and a really nice car. I'm wondering why is the stance so high? Is it adjustable? The car is screaming to be lowered.
***** The car DOES have a lowering options :-)

I can tell you're very excited in this review.
Hey Steve you make good videos and I enjoy them. I was wanting to say that when you do the back seat view show you getting in on the passenger side that way it be easier to demonstrate.
Barton McClain lol my bad!!! when I wrote that i was on my phone and sometimes it be trippin so i didn bother to fix that.. lol
Hey Dave will Melissa be posting again on her channel?
Joe Howard Melissa should be getting new vehicles to review in early 2015. In the meantime she'll be working as a contributor with EMD - Dave

Drove the C220 in the UK, decent power and great MPG..abt 50mpg
What happens if you accidentally move the shifter while the car is in motion, I ask because most people are accustomed to wiper controls on that side of the steering column
The car will explode.

Jan de Rochefort You and me both, Jan!
Great and informative review
Great review! Very informative :)
Excellent job reviewing a sweet Benz.
tax2607 Thanks a ton... I'm now a MB fan!

Dave do u rent all these cars u do a review about btw, ur awesome man your videos r helping me !!'
Nathani Dheemantn No and I talk about the entire process in my weekly podcasts. All my vehicles are media loans.
The torque number is actually 273, not 229
Oh no?! I hope that doesn't stop people from buying one?!
I think there's a small mistake. The 2015 C300 has a 2L engine with 241 hp and 273 lbft torque and not 229 lb ft
This is the C400. The 3L bi-turbo engine does, in fact, have 329HP and 354 lbft of torque. Dave reported it correctly.
Captain Awesome Beard I agree that this is the c400. I just pointed out the incorrect torque number when Dave talks about the c300 in this video
your neighborhood looks beautiful. which city do you live in?
mluu510 I drive around North Spokane, Washington for most of my reviews. Where do you live?
Everyman Driver Car Reviews Oakland, CA. =( Everything looks dreadful here. Must get out...
Really like this car ...getting one in a couple of weeks....just the c300 though...
do u still have the c300? do you still like it? im looking to buy a used 2015
B Muss me too a used 2015 C300
Great review
Expensive but impressive. Great review
beautiful car and amazing review..hoping one day i'll get one of these,, I wish the same to you Dave Erickson
Rayoody2012 Thank you... I might go for a bigger version though or maybe an Audi A8 :-)
Then I better go watch the Audi A8 review. :)
You shouldn't wear sunglasses while reviewing. It makes you seem to cool for school
Too*

Great Review. The only thing missing in this car is a heated steering wheel.
I just bought the same spec car for $26,500 canadian.
Yes

Steering wheel and infotainment screen, is copy-paste Mazda 3!
I'm new to Earth, is this the sarcasm that I have read about?
this guy reminds me of John Cena for some reason. CANT SEE ME!!!
lol ur so happy driving this car

Was he listening to Mo Money Mo Problems?
+Christian Adams love me some Backspin (Channel 43)
270 lbs of torque for the 4 cylinder, get ur facts right
Honest mistake, he simply read the torque figure of the last 250 rather than the new 300. Mercedes tends to make errors on US site updates and correct later.
Amazing review. Good job, sir.

Any car with out a warranty should be traded in.
You know you are not forced to buy all the gadgets? ^^ The reliability of the rest of the car is nice for sure ;-)

tablet display looks cheap
Done that way to get rid of a bulky dashboard.
I have a C300. You forgot to demonstrate the “hands free” opening and closing of the trunk lid by merely doing a “kick” movement under the rear bumper to open and close the trunk lid. ☝️
Doesn’t have to do it since you already own the car and are familiar with the feature.
Looks to cluttered. Why so many turbos, having owned both I love the naturally aspirated cars.
Don't like these tablet style infotainment systems that don't hide. Looks too out of place.
Zachary Ong It would be cool if it retracted, I agree but that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.
German engineering, enough said.
A nice car :)

Mercedes..? I still pass until I can look at a Mercedes and not see other auto manufactures being copied
Instrument cluster stolen from Lexus
Steering wheel stolen from Infiniti
Center console and dash stolen from Acura
Nice job Mersedec
