Jacob is the real MVP for thinking ahead. We only brought one Halo swaddle for our son born in April & he peed all over it at like 3:00 am. My husband definitely cried because we didn’t have a backup. 😅

My husband thought I overpacked, and then I wound up having an unplanned C Section and stayed at the hospital for 3 days. So glad I packed all those little things like a robe, slippers, socks, personal blanket, eye mask for sleeping better, etc!

Just ask your nurse if it's okay to suck on the lollipop during labor. When I got my epidural, my doctor wanted me to be NPO (nothing to eat or drink) after that point. Although you're not a actually eating, the lollipop stimulates your stomach to create acid which can increase your chances of aspiration...doctors like to prepare for the worst. Also, if the lollipop is red and (God forbid) you do spit up during surgery, they can't tell if it's blood or the lollipop. Just something to think about. This is my nurse brain working. But best of luck on your delivery =)

They cannot make you wear a mask while you are in labor. My nurses clued me in on that the last time I gave birth (December 2020)

So smart to bring your own pillows and nursing pillow!

Congratulations on baby number 2! I am currently 36 weeks and 5 days pregnant today with a due date of 4th or July! I am so excited as if this is my first pregnancy lol. This is my 3rd and my children ages this year are 10, 7, and a newborn. So it’s been 7 years since I delivered a child so I am definitely starting all over right about now and that can contribute to the excitement! Mean while I am only 28 years old so I look forward to having 1-2 more children before I am 33 and definitely will be getting my tubes tied and burned by then lol. Let us know how delivery goes!

We have the same age gaps. :) I am on my 3rd also and Also feels like this is the first time LOL...I am so excited and terrified my baby is estimated to be in the 91st percentil for weight my Dr seems to be in a little bit of a panick with a plan lol..She scheduled me for induction at 39 weeks so I have 2 weeks ..My other babies were in the 7 pound range so this is scary for me LOL...Im so excited though! I feel like I have everything and unprepared at the same time.

Had my baby in January 2022 and I thankfully didn’t need to wear a mask but that sucks, don’t feel bad about complaining about it. My biggest regret was not bringing some bars for breakfast because the hospital breakfasts took SO long to get there. I stayed in the hospital gown the entire time too

I heard to bring snacks!! I didnt bring those for my last 2 and I believe I hardly ate. I will not make that mistake again lol

I don't think I over packed at all for my first, but I cannot remember what I did pack 🤔 I think ill bring a pillow or two from home this time though! And probably a BIG water bottle. My hospital provided a pathetic 16oz cup and because of covid my husband couldn't refill it, I had to call a nurse every time. I was so dehydrated!

FYI lactation consultants are not pump experts! I’d highly recommend the group “elvie stride pump tips and support” the biggest thing with a pump like the stride is being super close to your exact sizing for it to work well- get a circle ruler to measure yourself! I love this pump but there is a higher learning curve, worth it once you get there!

Thanks for the advice! An LC helped me with my pump last time and it was helpful! Figure I’ll bring it anyways if I’m there and they’d stop by anyway.

Can’t believe your already packing your hospital bags, your pregnancy flew by! I know it might be something your not into or comfortable doing, but you should do the baby momma dance with Peter! It probably be a cute, and funny video to look back on!

great video. added some the items you mentioned to my list that i didn't have yet. I also am packing super light this time around. I also am packing a portable fan, the one with wrap around legs. I hear they might be helpful. Cant wait to see what my son looks like, i feel like its unreal. Payers for a safe birth and delivery for you and your son.

We have the opposite here! May 2020 baby I had to wear mask for delivery - it wasn’t super fun. At some point it did fall off near pushing time and they didn’t say anything but had to put it back on after. This time around, no masks required in our own room.

You are very prepared! I think that once you are in the room you may not need to wear the mask the whole time. I'm a nurse and it is often that the masks come off "behind closed doors" if everyone agrees to take them off. Good luck!! 🥰

I hope so! I know oregon medical facilities have been more strict. Our hospital told me it was required at all times unless eating or sleeping. So we shall see!

FOr the sound machine I just use my phone..Its so much extra for those speakers to pack..Just my oppinion. I got a huge cord for my phone and will use the white noise stuff on my phone. I only have to wear a mask while walking though the hospital but not in my room. YOur baby needs to see you with the little vision they have I would take that thing off asap.

If you can, I would try to find a different type of mask to wear if you have to wear one. The fabric/ cloth ones are the worst for me being able to breathe through them. I can't imagine trying to push out a baby with a mask on. I use face shields of a couple of different types when exerting like during excercise or physical therapy and it is required.

People are still wearing masks 😳 I had no idea! I'm so sorry!!! I delivered in May 2021 & never wore a mask, in, out or in the room at all! I hate that for you!

Hopefully you won’t have to wear a mask! I just delivered in April and definitely didn’t wear one at all only when we were outside of our L&D/postpartum rooms.

I hope so! We had a zoom call with our hospital and they said it’s required at all times unless eating or sleeping so we shall see…

Girl just take the mask off once you’re in the room. The nurses and drs will probably not care at all
