One of the most powerful moments in this last scene in my opinion is when JD says "goodnight" to Dr. Cox and he just stares back without saying a word, its funny how without even one word you could understand what Dr.Cox was feeling.
Winter by Joshua Radin gives me chills every time because of this show. That episode demolished me. I was in high school when it aired and wasn't paying super close attention so I didn't catch on to what was really going on until the end.
@@soulofangel1990 Yeah that was such a good detail for them to add in. JD's so focused on getting Dr Cox's attention that he completely misses out on his biggest frenemy saying his goodbyes.
I had good friends in high school. I had good friends in college. I had good friends at my first job. You don't set out to leave your friends behind and not see them again, but it happens. It's life and it's just something you have to deal with.
Dr. Cox and J.D's relationship is probably my favorite thing on this show. Perry always gives J.D a hard time but he truly does care about him and they show his affection in a few scenes but this one, and obviously the scene where he finally says how he feels about J.D are easily the best. In this one though, not a word needed to be said. Perry spent all day pretending it didn't phase him but the more you repress your feelings, the harder it will hit you when it finally does sink in and Perry was definitely feeling it here and J.D saw that, which also shows some character growth on J.D's part because not even that long ago, he would be all up in Perry's face about it, but he could read the room and see that Perry was hurt and that J.D was the reason, so he left him to be with his thoughts instead of getting under his skin about it. It's one thing that bothered me about the final scene between them. It would have been so much more impactful if J.D didn't confront Perry after the things he said to Sunny about him and it would show his growth as a character. I feel like the confrontation was either a last-minute change or improv by Zach Braff because before that, it really felt like they were going the route of J.D just silently walking off, simply knowing how Perry felt and beimg content with that. Idk, just a minor complaint about an otherwise great scene, but that's why I'm glad they had this scene too
I remember I watched this episode exactly on my bus from New York to DC to have a flight back to Moscow after my first 6 days trip to US that I liked so much. Well, God bless these pure days and this song. My youth... It always with me....
so emotional .. its so sad that jd is leaving .. the whole scene from 0:50 is so great .. the sentence "Remember when you were a kid and your family moved and how you always wanted someone to blame, for all those big changes.." .. the scene makes me cry .. Scrubs is the best show which ever made .. thumps up who think like me
I'm amazed that The Todd didn't try and get J.D. and Turk to join his little group especially since he walked in with JD and his pants around his ankles.
It's funny, I always thought this was sad, but now I'm kinda getting to that point in my life too. Leaving things behind, friends falling away, stepping forward in my own life. shit hits different when you see it in your own life. it's exciting, but damn is it bitter sweet
2:01 You see Perry's thoughts. "This hospital will lose a great doctor... But most of all... I'll lose a great... Friend *hates himself for thinking that*. How can he do this?". Perry is the best character in the show.
I just heard that song in the radio, didnt knew how its named. So i tought: ok when did i heard that? Season 8 right? Ok wich episode, oh yeah the one jd tells turk that he leaves the sacred heart :(! And then i found this! Its actually amazing that our brain is remembering the music wich played when i watched this episode a few months ago! :0 one of the sadest moment in scrubs!
This was the saddest moment to me, personally. It showed how Cox was willing to hide his feelings, even though we know he's really sad J.D.'s leaving. It showed, Turk and J.D.'s friendship start to fall (A moment that should never have happened! D'=) and how J.D.'s realises this is the hardest moment of his life. Oh, and the Todd. Of course, my favourite moment because it almost made me cry ;_;
Their friendship starts to fall? What? It just matured. I have only seen my best friend since childhood once in the last year and he's still my best friend. And when we're together, we immediately pick up where we left off like the last time we saw each other was yesterday. That's how good friendships work, and Turk and JD have one.
@Groom of the Stool yes your friendship was altered, in a very significant way. I'm sure that's what they meant by fall. They've friendship matured alot throughout the years, this was a little more than just that.
sorry but i want that as much as any1 but do do that because ur gona make him mad and he wont even think of doing scrubs again but zach i wish u wasnt gona away cause i love scrubs and ur my fav actor
I think I cried when I realized this lol....will scrbs continue? O god I hope so...I mean it JUST started again. I dont think I can take it if srubs ends officially!

Even Janitor was sad
Scrubs did great job with soundtrack selection

I was so focused on Dr Cox but you realize the Janitor is sad too.
Setoto I actually chocked more when I saw the Janitor reaction

It sucks when you had to do that every 2-3 years
Lucky you i've never had good friends in school, college or at work.
RIP Sam Lloyd aka Ted. Dearly Missed.. 15 2020
The energy of every character changed when they found out JD was leaving
I wonder how many people didn't get the 37 minute drive joke... A touching, caring, funny, inspirational series. RIP Sam❤
But an hour and 15 minutes round trip means there and back again, right? So it is roughly 37 minute drive, one way.

I love that they put "Winter Song" in here, it fits the mood
The bit with the janitor is so sad :'(
The end made me cry. Best Show Ever.
At 1:55 the Janitor's face says all...
That's so sad when you notice it...
Now i am sad…
1:55
(Because clickable time stamps weren’t a thing back then lmao)
I also love the line "Do you want to pull up your pants first?" "I'm still not ready" it summarises the charm and humour Scrubs has very wsell.
i always cry when i watch this
I miss this.
perfect
Scrubs was great 👍🏻 so emotional at the end
John C. Mcginley's Dr. Cox has to be the best written and best played character in history.

Everyone is all about love stories but it is always the father/so (mentor mentee) relationship which steals it for me.
Lie down. Try not to cry. Cry a lot.

I'm at that part of my life where everything is changing and it's scary.
Change is scary, my friend. My inevitable. I hope your change turns out for the better.

It's already in my list =D One of my favourite songs...
So have fun with it!
I know how it is when ur leaving ur place and want to meet ur old freinds...it never works...
Bet you never expected to see a reply to this 10 year old comment
@@theunderdog9353 indeed I did not...damn I feel old now 😂

I think the best part is, Todd doesn't even question it.

@Iheartcheer417 Yes :)
@Shaqstheman000 You can't, thats why its gone shit since he left. =(
Oh, yeah.! Peter Gabriel, I knew they we're alive, you owe me five bucks.
Scrubs - JD = everything but not Scrubs. Y-Y
