    I'm sorry, but I am always baffled by how the media have so successfully brainwashed even those you would think would see right through it on so many issues or players, but most specifically Cole Palmer. You are talking about a player whose assist stats include him passing the ball to give someone else facing the same challenges in front of them he faces the responsibility to deal with the situation and then that person scoring showing miraculous skill. A player who faced with a wall of defenders offloads the ball to his team mate 5 or 10 yards away with exactly the same wall rather than looking for a better pass and has had that registered as an assist taking undeserved credit on the stat sheet. You are talking about a player that delivers passes through defenses that the player he is passing to would struggle to score with because of the movement of the ball and only a split second available to deal with it as we saw in his pass to Harry Kane against Iceland. We are talking about a player who only understand the offensive side of a football game, but has no understanding of the defensive side and no interest in it, creating a leak in the whole structure of the teams defense operations for the opposition to exploit which is unacceptable when playing the best teams and if you want to be top of the league or win a competition, hence why despite being 21 he has yet to be in the first eleven of a team sheet for a team that wins a senior competition final despite being at the best clubs. This may be acceptable at Chelsea and resulting in a mid-table end of season finish or a position just above mid table by the skin of their teeth, but the best teams refuse to carry defensive liabilities of this kind because they know they will be exploited by other great teams. The fact the media choose to ignore these and call him a great player when he still is a novice with a lot to learn before becoming the finished article for a high quality team does not change this and people who know football should not be fooled like ordinary fans. We are talking about a player whose goals stats are high because 40 percent of them are penalties which he achieved, not by fighting the opposition as his team mates did when winning the penalties which he has not been able to do, but by being manipulative and fighting his own team mates to ensure nobody is allowed to take a penalty except him, against the orders of his manager who in two press conferences pressed by the media to say Palmer is the penalty taker said anybody confident to take the penalty should take it. This is not the psych of a player committed to a team, but a player committed to himself before the team. Sure he has scored some goals, but without penalties has struggled to score goal numbers of great significance making him useless if penalty opportunities do not occur. As for the goals he scores, he only scored one goal against the top 4 teams and that was, you guessed it, a penalty someone else could have been chosen to take, while for much of those games against top teams, his contribution to the games was minimal and top players easily dealt with him. It is for these reasons a team like Man City and manager of the caliber of Pep, did not play him, knowing he can score some goals, and then sold him. A very different treatment for Foden and for Sterling because they are complete players offensively and defensively of a superior quality needed for top teams and needed with consistency season after season as Palmer has failed to do or is yet to prove he can do. I think Palmer is a very good player who has scored a couple or a few spectacular goals this season with a lot of media hype, but not a complete player and of the quality needed in a top team which must play the best teams to achieve their positions at the top of leagues and winning top competitions. For a top team, he is a liability, but for a mid table team or team scrapping for the most meaningless Euro spot as the Chelsea manager was, he is or looks useful. There or for that he can be a star, but that is nothing special and the results or proof of this will reveal themselves if he plays in the England team still not having achieved what is needed in his game to be a quality or complete player. You and the media can turn a blind eye, but the results on the pitch will not do that. Peace and love

    I agree that using the term the Mirror did with Saka, was at best, careless but weren't there more Black and Mixed race players in the England team than white players in the second half? In fact, wasn't every player taken off replaced with a Black or Mixed raced player?
    So statistically you were more likely to have such player in the photo at the end because the papers didn't know we had lost until the 90th minute. Fight racism where it exists, don't look for it where it doesn't.

      As a mixed race person myself who's very careful about not looking for racism where there isn't any, playing a race card, making false accusations and who questions the overbearing so-called anti-racism messages being shoved down people's throats from all angles but there's no doubt Saka is the blackest most African looking member of the squad and his face was most prominent and not so subliminally aligned with the headlines and feelings that followed the defeat. For papers and media who professed to be outraged after 2020 and would do again if repeated after these euros, let it be known now that the tabloid media are the instigators of the very thing they claim to be against when it suits them and the calculated disproportionate use of Saka's image on Friday despite him having an undramatic cameo role in proceedings shows how mischievous our media are.

    I’m not an England fan but I do admire some of their talented players. In my opinion Southgate should use the Guardiola Man City blueprint to get the best out of England, and use the 3-6-1 formation. That is, 3 centre backs, 2 defensive mids, 2 wing-backs, 2 attacking mids and target striker.
    That way Foden and Bellingham are utilised at their best as free roaming attacking mids, and defensively it becomes a back 7, when your wingbacks and 2 defensive mids get back.
    Foden should not be playing as a left wing for England or Man City in my opinion

      We will scramble in into the knockouts and go out in the 2nd round. Then it will be bye bye southgate as it should have been after the world cup in 2022. What a waste of a tournament for us.

    • @michaelschilling8662
      @michaelschilling8662 3 месяца назад +1

      @magicaces13 My opinion on your England
      2018: Lucky,with your easier side of the bracket. If you guys were on the other side of the bracket you would have got knock out in the Quarter-Finals
      2020: Honesty,you should have won that tournament. Maybe not the most entertaining football to watch. But with such a solid defense and goalkeeper in great form that tournament.
      2022: Attack was at it's finest,but the midfield and defense started to show some cracks.
      Right Now: Defense is questionable,the weakest english defense in the past decade. Players are in a mixed bag of team chemistry or lack of form. Southgate is a clueless and talentless hack of a coach and has no tactical skills. I don't have a good feeling about this England team going into this year's euro.
      My hot take. Even if Southgate wasn't your coach these past 8 years or so, I think you guys would have had the same tournament results,except for one exception,the last euro. Yes, I think without Southgate you would have won the 2020 Euro. Southgate's tactics in that final,if he had any blew up right in his face. Honestly he should have been gone after the 4-0 loss at home to Hungary a while back.
      England and Italy are my top Teams to have a potential flop this summer,maybe even a group stage exit for one of them,maybe both.
      But being part Italian, I hope that doesn't happen.
      Well if Italy🇮🇹 don't do well. I can always root for my other teams that share my heritage 🇩🇪 and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Yes, I am from the states. Best of luck to all Teams. But I have a feeling this euro is going to have alot of upsets,making it all the more entertaining.

    • @magicaces13
      @magicaces13 3 месяца назад +1

      @@michaelschilling8662 interesting opinion and I agree in part - yes England and Italy I think will struggle early on but if they get through could get stronger.
      I also have German heritage so I will be supporting the hosts if England go out.
      2018 - yes the best draw we have ever had in any tournament and still couldnt win it.
      2020 - yes we should have won it and I believe that was our best team in a decade and better than now. With a better manager we would have won it.
      2022 - yes agree Southgate was already struggling with defeat to Hungary and other poor results. The FA keeping him on after QFs defeat was only because it was a loss to a good french side and they like Gareth, a very good suit man for them. Still we should have got a new coach.
      This tournament will be fun for sure with upsets, twists and turns. I dont think there is an out and out favourite and any of the top 6 teams could win it with some luck. Look at Portugal in 2016!
      I'll also be tuning in to copa america for a good summer of soccer (football) :)

      I got a funny feeling that the Dutch🇳🇱 will have a good tournament this euro. I wouldn't be surprise if we have a new winner this year or even dark horse team reaching a semi final or even a final. Who knows, only time will tell. Have a great day and it was nice talking with you👍.

    Regarding the issue of Saka being scapegoated, I don't think it's racially motivated. I think Cole Palmer is the new shiny toy and there's a bit of a sense that certain fans and sections of the media would like him to start for England, therefore, unreasonably lambasting Saka to push their agenda over the line. A few years ago we saw something similar with Grealish when he was the new shiny toy and people wanted to see him start ahead of Sterling, as well as, people wanting to see Bellingham start in the World Cup.
