i tweeted what im about to say on the day the album came out,; Hearing the second to last song "PullTheSkyDown" for the first time was honestly a surreal experience for me. As a fan of all genre's, hearing Ricky rap/sing along to blast beats and have a "metal - esque" song on this album really made my day and just solidified him as my favorite artist ever. I've always enjoyed seeing and hearing him explore different styles of music and song writing, my all time favorite examples would have to be "Magenta Lava Lamp", the entirety of "Sesh Radio" on PaidProgramming 2, and now "PullTheSkyDown" as well. Thank you bones, thank you.
This album got me thru the toughest time in my life. Was hospitalized for a week, later that year two friends killed themselves, way too much acid one night, mom kills herself couple months later (drug addicted/suicidal/severe ptsd episodes), sister/dad go off on own path, home alone for the first time in forever for monthes at a time, you don’t know lonely till then, I start doing/selling every substance in the book besides meth heroin n crack, worked a shitty degrading depressing underpaid construction job, that period of my life was unnerving.
