When it gets to -10°c and below, I use Gorilla Tape and fasten a double folded sheet of aluminium foil over the grille of the car. You can poke a couple of holes in it, if you fear overheating, but just watch the thermometer needle closely at all times and you'll be fine. You can also buy an addative called WestFrost to put on the diesel tank, because new diesel now has a 10% bio-diesel at winter, which freezes faster than regular. Greetings from Norway.
The bulbs are a waste of time. How much driving in the dark? There's been quite a bit of fake news media interest in blinding car headlights. Snow tyres, okay, but in Scotland, it's black ice that's the big issue. You're a fool to drive when there's black ice. The big issue in Scotland, and especially The Highlands, is that if you go off the tarmac on a single carriage way road, you could be stuck for while. So unless these roads have been ploughed and the passing places are clear, then it's not safe to drive.
well I thought the bulbs were pretty damn useful 🤣🤣 did loads of driving in the dark. it’s light at 0900 and dark at 1530/1600 so they got plenty of use 🤣

thanks for the advice - it’s not so bad in the UK but it will be in North Germany so I’ll have to make some more modifications for the German winter!
