- Enjoy the POV experience of surfing one Australia's most famous surf breaks with perfect conditions on a beautiful winters morning. Mother Nature also treated us to a stunning double rainbow, it really doesn't get much better than this.
I made the effort to get up at 4am and drive up to Noosa Heads for what was forecast to be a pretty ordinary day, still I rolled the dice and wow did it pay off. We scored super fun long right handers up the point at Tea Tree bay all morning. I even managed to clock a few waves in that were almost a minute long!!

They recommend you get a hypo krypto thats 4-6 inches shorter than your usual short board.

I used to surf Noosa a couple of times while I was doing an exchange year at the sunny coast and it was always super fun!

Yeah mate I feel your pain, lived on the coast for 15 years and this is actually one of the least crowded days I can ever remember out there!
It looked like a miserable rainy day early in the morning but it ended up being a stunner!!!
@@AngusKennedy I used to lived in caloundra for 10 years about 4 years ago before I moved to the goldy. I still go up every couple months ago and the crowds are insane. But you can still get lucky a score a dream day like your vid👌
Yeah the crowds are pretty off putting and I rarely even think about heading up there but if you get lucky and score, it can be so good! 🤙
Angus Kennedy why is it getting so crowded??? Are more people moving there specifically for the surf? Or are just more people surfing because it’s that popular
@@Jay-fq8uz The Sunshine Coast has exploded in population in the last 15 years so that is definitely a factor. Everywhere just seems to get busier and busier here each year hey, the exact same as what happened to the Gold Coast.

Yup you've officially been bitten by the bug 😉surfing is the best stress release i know apart from when you get cocky n paddle out when it's too big then shit your knickers and think to yourself uh oh what have I done 🤣 if you ever make that mistake (I have many times ) just stay calm and wait for the smallest of the set NEVER the first wave of the set though that a big no no!! enjoy my brother surfing is the best ✌

Looks awesome fun, looked to me you would have had more fun with an extra 6” on the board to spread your stance. Felt like one of those Z-flex skateys when a bit of a cruiser would’ve got more flow. Top vid anyway and nice waves

The Hypto is actually designed to be ridden 6 inches shorter than your standard size board which for me is 6'0 so that's why I've got it in a 5'6. I only weigh around 70kg as well so I probably would struggle to duck dive a 6'0 Hypto as they are really buoyant.

Yeah it holds really well when it gets bigger, it just doesn't get big that often.

For this video yes I did use the safety leash but I don't use it anymore as it often goes over the lens and ruins the shot. The mouth mount is pretty secure, I've never dropped it and I've used it at least 10 times now.

I have a GoPro hero 7 black and I just use the "skeleton case" which is the one it just comes with in the box. I do however have the orange "floaty" stuck onto the backdoor of it so it floats if I drop it.

Nice surfing, you're deceptively fast, I was always wondering why you were seemingly far from the lip but able to keep the line for a long time, and only about four minutes in saw your pumps and they looked very efficient, you're not splashing around, just beautiful down the line stuff :)

Trying so surf a nice line and be a little bit more "effortless" is what I try do do so I'm stoked that you think that 🤙
It also happens because Noosa is such a fast wave sometimes that if you fall behind a section there's usually no chance that you will make it back around, and with how crowded the lineup is you want to make the most of every wave!

This wave is called "Tea tree bay in Noosa Heads in Australia" it's a long wave that can give up to 1 minute rides that go for up to 300 hundred meters. 🤙

looks like an o'neill hyperfreak what mm is it? what's the water temp like during this time over there? i am in the states (so cal area)
Hey man, spot on it is an O'Neill hyper freak wetsuit.
Its 3:2 mm and the water temp is usually around 19-20 degrees Celsius here in the winter with cold winds coming in from the west.

@@AngusKennedy nice! my hope is to get that way one day and ride some waves over there. this wave looks super fun. usually surf trestles and malibu spots out here. rincon during the winter (but ur fighting for waves at rincon haha). but noosa looks super fun, i'd like to hit that spot with my twin fin.
Yeah it is such a nice wave, there's 3 right hand point all equally as good within 1km of each other in the national park at Noosa which is awesome. It doesn't get waves above 3 foot often so when it does it can get super crowded kind of like Rincon so you just have to be lucky to get a nice day with not to many people out.
A spring suit is sufficient in Noosa winter June to August. Vest in September. No wetsuit needed October to May.

I bought this board off the Hayden shapes website but if you want a board that's kids size there should be heaps at any surf shop!

No worries bro, I live in Australia so I don’t know much about who sells boards in America but you can try all the major brands websites (pyzel, Al merrick, JS, Hayden shapes etc) you also might be able to go to the wave pool at Waco and I’m sure they would have boards there!!

Being epoxy and having that slightly fishy shape its tough, buoyant, paddles well and rips anything from 2-6 feet.

Hi fin, yeah I love this board and definitely would recommend it!
Its been my 1 board quiver for like 3 years now and it handles anything from 2-6 feet really well. As long as you can stand up, ride along the wave and do some little turns up and down I think you would enjoy this board!
My only suggestion would be to go a little bit bigger rather than smaller so that it paddles easier.

It is a bit weird surfing with the gopro though, holding it in your mouth feels pretty strange and you've gotta be conscious of the angle its facing while you're surfing haha

Don’t know if you ever been to Noosa man but this is pretty quiet hey, it’s usually double this many people! 2-3 foot and clean as a whistle, that’s my idea of perfection 🤙
