Jason Marnocha is a good Megatron, but he just needs better writing. His lines in the Prime Wars Trilogy are amazing, possibly the unironically best thing about that trilogy
Besides how dark the wfc triolgy was (especially with earthrise),i think the voice of the prime characters is so fitting with the designs and the personalitys of the wfc characters,especially megatron(i think if prime starscream voice actor voiced doubledealer in earthrise,that will be fitting in my opinion)
Idk, beside Bumblebee voices don't really fit for me. Starscream's has too much grace, Megatron's is too proud and elegant, Prime's is too commanding and respectable, Shockwave's is too cold, Unicrons's is too human, not grand enough. For all its problems wfc did have good voice acting. Everyone feels so scared and exhausted by the war.
Every actor needs to put their own flavour to those characters: Franks robotic raspy maniac looney and Peter playful fatherly Optimus, David's melodramatic posh Megs and Gary straight to action rugby primal, Davids young disciplined older brother Optimus and Corey larger than life Megatron the despot. To Frank more charming yet deeply crazy Megatron against a more older, stoic Peter's Prime.
I used to think with Transformers voices it was Peter Cullen and Frank Welker or nothing. But after watching TF: Animated I'm more willing to give new voice actors a chance after hearing how damn good David Kaye and Corey Burton were as Optimus Prime and Megatron. I think the voices in the WFC Trilogy were fine, but I don't really rank them compared to other performances.
Funny thing about David Kaye, He was Megatron in Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Transformers Armada, Transformers Energon, and Transformers Cybertron before he got Optimus in Animated.

No offense to the original actors for this show, but man does this kind of voice direction sound more NATURAL and ALIVE. Another nice detail is that each voice helps distinguish the character. Optimous sounds wise but powerful, megaton sounds ruthless and cold, and Starscream sound scheming and calculated. It makes you wonder what the directors were thinking when they told the actors to go for a low gruffy, and edgy direction, especially since the actors actually have excellent roles. Joe Zieja is amazing as Claude in fire emblem and Jake Tillman does a cool and unique Optimous in cyberverse
Shame, because...except maybe Jake Foushee, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, every other actor in this show does WAY better with better voice directors. Jason Marnocha as Prime Wars Megatron is proof of that, hence why he's EASILY the best part of that own mess. And he's great in other roles. ANd then of course, you have talent like Bill Rogers, Keith Silverstein, Joe Zieja, Frank Todaro (MUGMAN), and so on. Not every voice director can be the great Sue Blu (aka G1 Arcee), but still.

Oh man this is so much better it's such a shame they couldn't get Peter and Frank to reprise their roles or even if they couldn't have gotten them, they could've gotten the voices for Armada Prime and Megatron anything besides these voices although in my opinion the ones who voiced Wheeljack and Starscream weren't too bad.

And, yes, it is a better voice, less screechy and cartoony, more of the terrifying warlord the Lord of the Decepticons is Jason Marnocha can also do it well, and I've heard his better Megatron/Galvatron voice elsewhere. In other works with much better voice directors. That's what this show needed: better voice directors. And that's what people sould focus on before saying the VAs are bad. Even great VAs can give shitty performances with bad voice directing.
I am gonna be honest with you. I can see why. Most of them either wants to much money,or sadly passed away. But they should hired actors with similar Vocal cords!
It's the one drawback of the series. Both Prime and Megatron talk so sloooooow and so quiet its actually boring to listen to. If they had the Cullen and Welker I would have loved the series.
The WFC trilogy was pretty bad, but using proper voice actors (no shade to the actual VAs, I’m sure they did their best) would have massively improved the show. Some performances were okay, but most were unsatisfactory, and a few were downright infuriating to listen to, like Optimus and BW Megatron.
I don't wanna be that guy, but the WFC voice cast is one of the absolute worst English dubs I have ever had the misfortune of hearing. Not only the direction, but the sound of everyone's voices as a whole is just grating. I understand that Frank Welker and Peter Cullen can't voice their iconic characters forever, but the WFC casters could have done much better than what we got
TFP Megatron’s voice doesn’t fit, because it’s dark and menacing in a way that this version of him doesn’t physically convey. It’s like hearing a child speak in a deep, gravely voice 💀
