I'm so glad this series was made. I downloaded his books in 2014 and sent Hugh Howey a "guilt based donation" via his website, he loved it, knew exactly what I meant and had a couple of quick emails back and forth. Very down to earth.
I remember doing similar with WOOL. This was the early days of self publishing through Amazon, Hugh Howey was an early adopter of that new paradigm. It's great to see how far it's gone in the "modern day".
Question is, are you waiting for all episodes to release before watching? Or enjoying the one week between each episode releasing? I'm rewatching Season 1 in the meantime, to build up a few of the new season's episodes before getting in to it. Binge watching other shows has spoiled me. But yes, Silo is amazing - one of my favorite shows in a long time.
Same. I stumbled on this show through a friend's apple account he left logged in at work (fire department). I love futuristic/quasi futuristic dystopian/apocalypse stories. The first episode was interesting and I was impressed with the casting but it being a streaming service, I was waiting for it to fall off a cliff but it just got better.
[!SPOLIER ALERT IN COMMENTS!] Found out about the series through a friend recently, and then saw the first video posted... my wife and I watched episode 1, and were hooked! Blasted through season 1, and then sadly have to wait a week between episodes now. Such a great series! I was very happy to find out that at the end of Season 1 (and start of season 2), that there actually was a reason people didn't go outside... and that it wasn't a lie! I think that was the biggest twist for me. I was thinking that they were slowly poisoning those that went outside via their suits. So well done.
Okay Adam, I know you're kicking the idea around about making one of the spacesuits from the show "Silo" hopefully when you do decide to make one you will make a show of it for us little people that aren't patrons
I read the books before the show was announced and thought it would make a good show. Don't have apple TV but might try to binge both seasons on a free trial...
The UK has had dedicated creative arts colleges for decades which turn out more talented and skilled people than the internal market in the UK could possibly absorb. One of our few remaining export trades in that regard.
@@gearandalthefirst7027 are you daft? There are tons of British actors, including in Silo itself. Probably more per head of population than American ones.
@@gearandalthefirst7027our Anglo brain humour , huge acting talent and creative artists are well known and respected around the world , you my friend , have yet to catch up .
Just watched episode 1 of Silo, and although it was great, I'm worried it will end up like 'Lost' i e. They'll never really tell you what's going on and a season in start making it up as they go along then drag it out until most of the original fans have gone. I really hope there's a 'set in stone lore' that they adhere to, and they don't just money cow it until it does a horrible death! As a concept i think it would be much more suited to a mini-series, or a series spanning 2-3 seasons.
I got to meet adam at supernova brisbane Australia he was everything I imagined him to be I only wish that I had more time with him if you ever get the chance to meet him please do you will not regret it
Again, Lights inside the helmet to illuminate the actor’s face. Really? They’re sending someone out to their death in a situation with extremely limited resources and they’re going to put lights inside the helmets? Bull $#!+
Same thoughts. I exercised my "suspension of disbelief". Although, a closeup revealed to me what the lighting is, recognized the exact led strip they used.
The guy who worked in SFX for film and tv goes where the interesting work in SFX is being done and talks to the people doing it. If a shout-out to the company paying for the work is the cost of doing business, then it's a price worth paying.
i like watching about props n costumes, but i just watched the breakdown of season 1 video and the show IMO has a long way to go to even be on my watch someday list. Its rather boring, predictable, and storyline is weak IMO
SILO season 2 premieres Nov 15, and season 1 is now streaming on Apple TV+.
Wait... That's today!

Definitely a nod to 2001:A Space Odyssey in that helmet design. Love it.🙂
Yeah, first thing it reminded me, it's a pretty distinct shape.
SO excited for season 2!! The world building is so solid, best show I’ve seen in ages!

I was on the fence at first, but man this show was gripping and well made. Very big recommendation

I am so hyped for the later books of Silo. Some wild things are coming for the show.
Silo really is the next show after The Expanse. Pretty sure Ty Franck interviewed the author of the Silo book. Game recognizing game.
I read this book years ago, at least the first book called WOOL by Hugh Howey. I remember liking it
I am so glad the color coded jumpsuits are back. I missed them in season 1.
How nice to see the cinema's costume department and remember how I worked for the film TD Demon Passenger 1900 with Giuseppe Tornatore

We do not put any builds behind the member firewall. Member videos are real-time or extended scenes only; not sure why you’d think otherwise.
@tested
Okay, Thank You. If you do decide to make that suit I look forward to seeing it, it would be awesome to see

i liked the first season a lot. looking forward to see season 2.
Us too!
Love the show, and love these costumes. Such epic details.
super excited for season 2, really enjoyed the first season!
I just watched the first episode of season 2 looking forward to finding out more! ❤
I started watching Silo due to these videos. It's great, so thank you!
It seems like every FX team is British?

Thousands and thousands of costumers but only about a dozen actors in the whole country XD

In the books the various professions within the silos wear different coloured overalls, I’d like to have seen that in the show

Adam looks great 🖤
Great stuff Adam!
No mention of the Kubrick influence??
Super obvious, surprised they didn't mention it as well. Borderline theft.
Great show, great costumes !
I want that helmet.
Any decent prop sites?
beautiful, LOVING these videos I ADORE silo!
Saw the first episode.. Rebecca Ferguson 😍🥰😜

Kinda sucks that she gave away the entire show in one comment. Now we know the poison comes from the helmet, not from the environment. Thanks lady.
You should finish season 1. 🙂
Hello Adam. :3
.Thanks.
Good
She said the 'e' word, ahaha.
Earliest i've been for a video thats for sure

I really like this channel but lately it seems like nothing but paid ads/content for Apple TV, Netflix, PlayStation, and so on....
That should not be an issue. They got to make their money somehow.
This isn’t sponsored content. We went because we love the show.
