I just recently rented this for a video shoot that required low light i used it with my fx9 and fx 3.....the AF tracking is insane...so what its an F4 lens the iso capabilities will sort it out. Worth every penny!
I’m on the fence between the f2.8 II and this f4 II for my fx6. I predominantly shoot stock footage of people. I like the fact that I could get really close to film an eye or a mouth as well as normal moving portraits with the f4 II without changing the lens. However, I’m worried that the bokeh at 70 mm with the f4 II will not be compelling. Which one would you buy if you were me? 😊
Wow, that is actually way more compelling than I thought it would be. There are actually reasons to buy this over the much cheaper Tamron and Sigma options.
If you want to use 20-70mm F4 and 70-200mm F4 your your personal hobbyist use, wouukd you pair with A7CR or A7RV? Does thwe smaller size of A7CR provide any benefit with these lenses or actually give less desirable experience? Will Sony make RX10V and do you guys think that will be enough and better?
Compared to the 70-200G1, the volume is 5505 mm³ smaller. That number is similar to a dice with a side length of 1.8 cm. The difference between the two figures is very slight. And this lens lengthens the nose. This product doesn't evolve, it seems to have changed direction.
Bought this lens. Great flexibility and sharp. The only odd thing is that it sends my A7M4 to sleep after a shot, and takes time to restart. Anyone else had this?
@Sony please give the Sony A7S III more updates in the same way you did to the Sony FX3. You need to give more updates to Sony A7S III other wise loyal Sony users will move to Panasonic.
I'm sorry but this lens is a bit of a disappointment. I've been really envious of Canon's 70-200 f/4 which is 100g lighter... Why couldn't Sony at least match that weight? Also, how come it doesn't have an aperture ring like other G-line lenses?
@@AllisonRoadWest Is it really? I mean, I've never used Canon's 70-200 f/4... but I do envy Canon users the size and the weight. Is the Sony the sharper lens of the two?
@@AllisonRoadWest Out of curiosity, I've just watched Dustin Abbot's review of the Canon and it is VERY sharp. If the Sony is even sharper, then I'd never see the difference.

The only issue I see with this lens, is that it is no longer constant length zoom lens like it's predecessor. It now has an extending barrel.
I need this lens now!
Anyone know the name of the background music? its so beautiful.
Yes, here it is: ruclips.net/video/eRBOgtp0Hac/видео.html
lol
That looks incredible. If only I had a Sony camera.
Does someone have a quick tutorial on how to get the camera leash like 1:46
❤❤❤ love it
What sort of shooting objects is lens for?

Okay. I'm putting this on my budget list for next year. 😄
Simply the best!❤
Just bought a α7R V and whole set Kase filter for it, hope it's worthy. Thanks for your sharing.

What about weight?
less weight, macro capabilities, newer internal mecanism, better AF, shorter(on 70mm), etc. Yeah sure didnt evolve...
We need 85mm F1.2 lens, please!
Why did you not add the macro capability on the flagship GM 2.8?
Thought would be 1635gmII
When is made new range lens GM 100mm - 500mm F4-4.5 & GM 10mm - 20mm F2.8? 🤓🤨🤔
감사합니다
Many tutorials on RUclips 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
price?
1699. Sorry, £1749.

what a pale threat..
This lens looks nice and have amazing macro feature for video 🤪
Still I prefer the internal zoom and not extending one 😅
+1 on the smoothness, weather sealing, and gimbal friendly aspects of internal function lenses.
How can F4.0 be so incredibly sharp?
and brokeh lol
Sony has color blinded employee at works it seems!
42cm 200mm
❤❤❤❤❤
Nice. Thankfully I already own G master lenses that cover this range so I don't need to purchase it! Thank goodness! 😄

I’ll definitely buy this lens . Oh wait, I just remembered I have one kidney left.

This is sharper and has much faster AF

@@AllisonRoadWest Just checked... Canon's lens is 200 USD "lighter" as well. Wish I could adapt it to my Sony camera.
@@Someone-lc6dc Does the Canon also have macro capabilities and that fast af?

Ill better to buy old 70-200 gm at the same price
basically no f2.8 haha
They just released the f2.8 a year ago.
