I love how expressive Donald sounds. Most of the other AI presidents content has them sound fairly consistent from start to finish, but hearing him growl, “...and Infinite, FUCK” was something else. Keep up the good work!
ODST collecting all the terminals got me in that nostalgia grinder. The rain sound effects are so creepy and lonely but also so mystical and peaceful. I don’t adore the missions but the “open world” type hub level is one of the best decisions the series ever made aside from Forge and griffball. Shout out to Red vs Blue which dominated my middle school days and damn I probably need to rewatch it now since it was peak Rooster Teeth and they have fallen big time since the core group of content creators has grown apart.
Kats death still hits hard. There was no heroic build up or send off, no overbearing music. She got shot and killed mid sentence. Reach's story writing was amazing. Edit: assassination implementation was also amazing 2nd edit: fun fact kat is the one running with the bomb in the halo reach commercial before her prosthetic arm.

In halo reach instead of assassinating being a typical melee to ones back in older halos, they added entire motion sequences like throwing someone to the ground and stabbing them. It was a highrisk/samereward since you can get killed mid animation. It still counted as an ordinary kill but the style and hype generated were really cool. Halo 4 and 5 expanded on this with more sequences. Halo infinite took them out which was a bad call imo.
I think RvB deserves its own tier list if Im being honest. So much to break down there, with the different directions and turns the stories took to the charavters and settings and animation quality. Would love to see the presidents have a go at it
Yeah. I think most fans subscribe to the idea that rvb proper stopped with the S13 ending. Best ending of any visual media ever. Of all time. Seasons 14+ don’t exist. Freelancer chronicles were the goat on release, but now show their age and how far animation has come since. What quality Chorus trilogy lost with Monty’s passing was retained in a great plot and fight animations that were true to spirit. And the ending. By god the ending.
ODST was the first halo I ever played. In terms of campaign I’d definitely put it in S, but it lacked the multiplayer and customization features that the previous titles had which moves it down to A for me personally

When one engineer named “lighter than some” saw the captain about to harm his leader, the engineer threw a rock and hit the man in the head, killing him instantly. 9:19 Kat wasn’t killed by a Jackal. If you look closely, it’s actually a Zealot class field Marshall Elite, the only like it in the whole game. He’s actually the closest thing the game has to a recurring villain. It’s the same Elite that you see in Winter Contingency and he shows up a final time and kills Emile, which is when you the player finally can kill him and avenge your friends. He was likely either part of a team tasked with tracking down and eliminating Noble Team or held a Vendetta over the loss of his previous troops in the first mission, like the elevator guys in Halo 3. Some of my favorite Bungie storytelling ever.

4s story was that the (alien) Forerunners specifically planned every single event from Reach-3 through "gene manipulation." Lol. Zero free will, just dumb "chosen one" shit. F tier.
Technically it functioned and was complete, yeah. It was from a time before the influx of broken, incomplete games. But I hated it, it's the reason I didn't buy an Xbox One lol. It did all sorts of things that threw me off. Weird change in art direction, weird story (the whole "Master Chief's a human with feelings, not a war machine" thing, although some impactful bits were good, and the Chief and Cortana dynamic was still fun), the music wasn't memorable (which was shocking for a Halo game), and the mechanics were changed (they made a Halo that was pretending to be like COD, and this was when COD was doing the inverse of that at the same time). I'd say D tier, maybe C if I'm feeling generous.

Also loved Legends I love when different styles are tried not all of them had equal levels of quality, but dang a 9/10 is still damn near perfect. Same with RvB though you can clearly tell when shit started to roll down hill. Anyone else realize almost every halo had a troubled development history but Bungie was always able to pull the messes together to make the best gaming trilogy while 343 makes a follow up trilogy so disconnected from it's source that it rivals star wars sequels

I love this interaction of these 4 guys. It really feels all natural, and personal from these guys. And I can agree with their take on things, except for a few nitpicks. I personally would have Halo Reach on A tier, MCC on high B tier, and Red vs Blue at B tier. Since you know Red vs Blue has been going on for a bit too long, at this point. And MCC could've been A tier if it wasn't shipped buggy, and in default remake graphics. That sort of thing should be enabled by the player. And yes, fuck 343, those bozos couldn't make a good Halo game to save their ass. And the frustrating thing is, they could've easily done so by copying the gameplay of Reach for the sequel trilogy while running on higher level graphics. It's like that easy, but those guys failed the basic test of game development. That I just can't bother anymore, so classics and/or MCC is all I need from those jabronis. Nothing more, nothing less.

The first 6 games except _Wars_ are all great, but for me, nothing will top _Combat Evolved_ . Best campaign, best music, well-developed characters, a haunting and foreboding atmosphere once you get to the Flood, and an ending that is unforgettable.

Anyone else realize almost every halo had a troubled development history but Bungie was always able to pull the messes together to make the best gaming trilogy while 343 makes a follow up trilogy so disconnected from it's source that it rivals star wars sequels

I love this interaction of these 4 guys. It really feels all natural, and personal from these guys. And I can agree with their take on things, except for a few nitpicks.
I personally would have Halo Reach on A tier, MCC on high B tier, and Red vs Blue at B tier. Since you know Red vs Blue has been going on for a bit too long, at this point. And MCC could've been A tier if it wasn't shipped buggy, and in default remake graphics. That sort of thing should be enabled by the player.
And yes, fuck 343, those bozos couldn't make a good Halo game to save their ass. And the frustrating thing is, they could've easily done so by copying the gameplay of Reach for the sequel trilogy while running on higher level graphics. It's like that easy, but those guys failed the basic test of game development. That I just can't bother anymore, so classics and/or MCC is all I need from those jabronis. Nothing more, nothing less.
Depending on if you know about these games but final fantasy games I'd love to see or donkey Kong based games. That would be goated. Either way these halo opinions super based. I wasn't the biggest fan of reach but I can see how people loved it. Just wasn't 2 or 3 and it's hard to be better imo
