    I have two color resins when I do it. I use a pure black resin and a green/ purple colorshift in another cup. I start by pouring some of the black and then pour in the colorshift. It gives it a much more space like appearance and when you hold it up to light, it becomes even cooler.

    For those like me, crafting on a very tight budget, you can get holo/colour shifting powders in the nail polish/makeup section of drug stores. (I live in Germany, and got some at dm and at Tedi Discount, marketed as chrome effect nail powders. The ones from Tedi Discount come in a set of 2, blue-ish purple and blue-ish green, for €3. The ones I got from dm are from Carice in a set of 3 for around €7.95. The holo nail powder is (imho) rubbish for nail effects (lol) but awesome for crafting. The colourshift powder (blue/purple) is awesome for both, and the chrome is WOW. Seriously messy tho, which is why I think it's easier to use for crafting than nail art.) Definitely want to try this out with the (also messy) superfine glitter and the resin kit I recently bought and some pendant moulds.

      You cant find holo like that in random drug stores here in the states. That kind of stuff is online its called Holographic Flakes . They have all kinds of other stuff and YES it is awesome for nail effects!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nail art IS crafting ....just on a small scale, doesnt make it any less ..Im so offended lololol

    To get rid of bubbles hit it with a butane torch after pouring .

    • @persephone2706
      @persephone2706 3 года назад +1

      I think he used a vaccum chamber. That gets rid of bubbles way better.

    • @FABRCTR
      @FABRCTR 3 года назад

      That is certainly one way to do it, however, in this video he used a pressure chamber which completely removes all air, thus removing 100% of the bubbles. The torch or a heat gun are good for large projects.

    Zac - the ultimate junk to dunk might be shavings/ribbons from a previous turned acrylic piece - all the combinations you cast added up over a few weeks/months might have a cool effect when added together then re-casted(?) - repurposing the purpose - just typing out loud at you!

    G’day Zac, I have the wood planks...both ready to resin...I have the resin...but not enough confidence to mix and pour. I am a bit puzzled with making a mold as whether to use timber, or look for a supplier of Melamine here in Victoria Australia. So...the beautiful timber slabs I have spent lot of time preparing, are sitting idle on my bench. I shall endeavour to get up the courage to get going. Can you suggest a product to stop the project sticking to the base and sides of the mold? I attend word working classes in our little town and there are some lovely helpful people here...but....too many chiefs and not enough indians make the advice a bit overwhelming. Thanks Zac, I love watching your videos ...you are easy to follow.....Ruth Manning, Australia. 🇦🇺🇦🇺

      Thanks Ariana!! I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't ship internationally though 😕Had to stop doing it a few years ago because it caused more problems than it was worth with the import fees and shipping costs. If you have someone in the states who could forward it on to you, you can order and I'll ship it to them. Probably save money on the import fees since they can mark it as a gift and use any shipping method

      @@ZacHiggins where there's a will there's a way and I'm nothing if not determined lol. I don't know anyone in the US personally but my friend does so I'll get it sorted one way or the other. Thanks for letting me know, have a great week 😀
