A Thousands Years - Aerial Silks Performance

My first ever aerial silks performance just after a handful of classes at Aerial Arts NYC (AANYC). Of course, after reviewing the video, I wish I paid more attention to certain details, but it was my first one, and I had lots of fun! Hihi! It was an aerial intensive workshop; 1 hour a week for 8 weeks. I was a complete beginner, but I learned the routine in about 8 weeks. It was so much funI- loved it! If you're in NYC, you should totally check out the workshop. Hope your first lesson went well, everything takes time, but I'm sure you're nailing it! My second performance (see my uploads) certainly improved. Now, I'm working on a Lyra (aerial hoop) routine. I should be posting up that performance in December! Excited.

That's awesome, thank you, I'm so happy that at least one person found it useful! I'm starting the next 8-week intensive workshop again this week. I haven't been playing with silks in almost two months, but I'm hoping to still see improvement in my performance.

I have been considering starting aerial silks for a little while but I think I'm too old. Is 13 too old to start? I have experience in gymnastics so that might help.

Kayla Goodwin, 13 is a great age to start learning. I wish I started when I was 13! I also had experience in gymnastics in high school (years ago), so I’m not sure it helped me when I finally started playing on silks -Haha. I’m still trying to get my split back. Good luck on your journey if you should ever start it! Aerial silks is very addictive and I always have an amazing high from it. 🥰
