You forgot about how you accidentally place it in the wrong spot, hurriedly delete it and then realise you were only refunded half of the cost and have to save up again.
Had a situation, not in survival but in rts, I've build building in wrong spot wated to destroy it and build in another and i accidently destroyed my mainbase building
My favorite is when placement needs to be so pixel perfect in a spot that clicking the mouse button is enough to move it outside the placeable area before the button is pressed enough to be registered.
Someone didn't figure out you can make a macro to spam click so you can just spam click while wildly flailing it back and forth and it WILL go down, it just might be inside a wall partially.
That moment when you see it turn green for a fraction of a second so you end up spam clicking to place it as you slowly move your mouse around the tiny correct spot.
And then it hits green just as you click several times in a row, and it's a stacking object... so now you've built three or four of them on top of each other, when you needed one, and the recipe is valuable components that won't scrap back into junk.
(In reality, we just don't know what we want to build but need a somewhat base because or inventory is limited. Then we never build because we will then have to move the storages and we are too lazy.)
Oh i remember when i used to play rust with FG clan and i would always build a 2x2 starter and then im supposed to build main base when we get resources for it. Most of the time i would just build random rooms and floors on that 2x2 and never actualy build main base. We were 10-15 people cramped into 2x2 and i guess that was the reason they told me not to build ever again. 😂
That quarter second of green has legit made me stop base building and search youtube and game forums for fixes. Fallout had this with fences. I don't want foot wide gaps in my perimeter. lol
That kind of thing made me bonkers. Me: "Uh, hello? Trying to secure this base here." Game: "No. Anyway, it doesn't matter, I'ma spawn enemies inside your base regardless." Me: "WHAT." Game: "Yup. Oh, and if you aren't there, no matter how many settlers you have wearing power armor and gatling lasers or how many gun and missile turrets are installed, you'll loose the fight every single time." Me: "... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.."
And this is why I am the camp mum and my buddy is the camp builder... Yes, I have heard him scream about a mother loving structure refusing to place numerous times in much harsher language...
This group makes me wish i had my own. This community sharing and helping, love it. Know that wasnt the point of the sketch, but love the group dynamics
absolutely agree, the guys and girls are all amazing, you can feel the great vibes between them in every skit they make, they are all super nice and wholesome, and the fan community is the best I have ever seen, feels great to be a part of that ❤
Major props to whoever tracked both the genny overlay on the ground and book. Looked epic. (And this totally isn't a situation I've been in as the base 'mum')
At least he finally found a spot. I think the worst is struggling and struggling to find somewhere, finally finding a space, and then being told 'item must be placed within circle'. Well that's what I was trying to do!
I'm really digging the slightly more gentle vibe of these survival game themed videos with the characters generally getting on and cooperating a bit more. I mean, all the other video settings/scenarios are great too (I love Bored, Epic NPC man etc etc), but I'm just saying that this is a nice change of pace.
Obvious bug since he was able to place it so far outside the base. Excellent work with the graphics by the way. Love how well that tracks with him as he moves. I was expecting him to finally get it green just where they're building something else and they place something before he can hit the button. Also, that moment where something you're trying to place turns green for a split second is so accurate. Sometimes you have to try hitting the button in that split second before it can turn red again. XD
Satisfactory had this right. There is hard clipping, where the object mesh overlaps another mesh, and then soft clipping, where there is an overlap of the placement boxes but no or minimal overlap of meshes
War flashbacks to my friend and I playing ARK. Trying to find a spot to place foundations but all the other clans had set up a series of pillars preventing anyone from building anywhere.
In my experience it should have taken him longer to target in on the green once he found it. Left green for nanosecond, right green for nanosecond, left, right, left, right, rotate item, left, right, left half rotate item...boom got it.
This is 100% accurate. Just needed Adam to pop up afterwards and inform you that you can tilt a certain way that allows the moons and stars to align so perfectly that it will allow you to place it closer.
Ben is a genius, placing the generator right next to Dark Lord General spawn point will let them save a ton on defenses for this high tier piece of base equipment
This is why mods come in handy. Mod for every situation. Might be a fun idea to see a series where they install mods mid play through and have NPCs react to the new mods in real time or something
A week later Ben goes back to his generator and finds it is the focal point of a survival game rave and there are dozens of players around it with colored lights hooked up and they're all dancing and his generator has become the "Circle of Truce" for the whole server so they can party.
Missed opportunity to have my man quickly try to 'move' the generator after getting spooked only to realize that the option selected was actually 'delete' the generator and along with it all of the rare materials that took hours to grind thus driving the knife further.
It's the worst thing aswell when you get it near the PERFECT place, you get that milisecond flash of green to place it... but you will never find it again no matter how long you spend getting it in the same place
There's a secret trick to getting around this in some games. Crank up the dpi on the mouse and rapidly move it around and keep clicking! (assuming the action button is mouse1...and if it isn't, then still wiggle the mouse around whilst spamming the action button)
Absolutely relatable, and if we destroy it (whether by accident or to put it away temporarily) and try to place it again it just wouldn't want to be placed. Oh, and that little millisecond of green happens all the damn time, you were lucky that time, Ben! Realistically, we'll never be able to place it there no matter how much we click and spam all over it, because it technically isn't possible to place there and even if we aligned it exactly as it was when that millisecond of green appeared, it will never appear again.
Or games where you get nothing back
Not only do you get nothing back but it takes an hour of smashing it with spears to actually destroy it !
One of the reasons I play Satisfactory :D
@@warmal8486oofff😮
My favorite is when placement needs to be so pixel perfect in a spot that clicking the mouse button is enough to move it outside the placeable area before the button is pressed enough to be registered.
That's when you turn the mouse upside down and gently tap WASD to find the sweet spot before clicking. Good times.
this is one massive plus to a trackball but still, excited fingers can mess you up xD
Similar to a firearm, squeeze, don't press.
set the confirmation on a keyboard button :)
Someone didn't figure out you can make a macro to spam click so you can just spam click while wildly flailing it back and forth and it WILL go down, it just might be inside a wall partially.
Bro so relatable... I HATE THAT FUCKING GREEN GLIMPSE OF PAIN.
Now I see that is the reason why I can't build outside of my yatch😂
I didn't know there is a name for that kind of pain until now
This one wasn't that bad lmao. Not enough moving around, slowly tapping WASD, slow mouse movements... Reducing sensitivity lolololol
You'll only see it once and never again
It's even worse when it's only a visual glitch because it briefly didn't register whatever is blocking it
Unrealistic, the slight bit of green would never show agaun so you spend 20 minutes ajustung for nothing
or it only goes green at a certain nanosecond while you're mid jump. leading to you jumping for twenty minutes
No, it would flash about 10 times while you move back and forth, and then it would disappear completely
The letter U is not the letter I. Thank you.
Or just kept turning while spam clicking as fast as you can
That awkward moment you realize you just had to tilt up very slightly because you were the thing too close for construction °~°
Oh, that would've been a perfect way to end it
hahahahahahaa that's me
No Mans Sky does this alot
If only the game could tell us precisely whats blocking it that would be a godsend 😂
@@nardalis4832 Satisfactory does that.
Half expected him to be angrily flicking side to side to find the green spot again for placement 😆
Oh yeah, been there lol
I'd never have gotten anything built in Ark if it wasn't for that haha!
@@olencone4005 It's designed for ENGAGEMENT! =P
I half expected him to put it in somebody else's base
Same here
Totally. In the base of the scavengers from last time. And they thanking him and shoot him.
same lol
same
same
the vfx for the generator looks so nice. its so natural how it moves when he does
Gotta say, whoever does your visual effects work now is worth every penny. This is above and beyond what most comedy sketch teams on YT pull off.
As he runs away, maybe Ben will come across the 4 children he saved by doing the bare minimum...
In a totally different game?
I love cross-overs
Or across those he didn't save.
They grew up to be the raiders in this game.
Your basecamp is absolutely perfect. I am amazed by the level of details
I wonder if it's like an airsoft range or something
@@SirFridge doesn't look like it. It really seems to be purposefully designed as a set.
The problem is the terrain has too much terrain on it.
I expected him to finally place it, look up and see that he is in the enemy base. "OUTRAGEOUS!"
And the enemy team "Why, thank you" chik-chik BOOM
Half expected Ben to realize he placed it in another teams base.
“You need space.”
“What was wrong with anywhere else?!”
“Too close, too close… grass and a stick, duh.”

Now I understand why "pro" players simply build a structure in the middle of nowhere in the nature, with no roof, no floor, absolutely disorganized.
(In reality, we just don't know what we want to build but need a somewhat base because or inventory is limited. Then we never build because we will then have to move the storages and we are too lazy.)
@@ultraphoenix95that last sentence.... so relatable 😂

Very cool VFX!! It's super well made! Great job!
Nice tracking. Should be fun if he would wiggle it sideways to find this spot.
That quarter second of green has legit made me stop base building and search youtube and game forums for fixes. Fallout had this with fences. I don't want foot wide gaps in my perimeter. lol
My immediate reaction is, let's install a mood to disable fudging collision boxes in F4. Because without mods that game is an annoying mess.

Love this new series of a Rust-Like game!
This is actually the second season, there's lots more for you to watch!
THAT SMALL GREEN GLIMPSE AHHHGGHHHHAGHAHSBSISJSNS
the 1 nano second of green
is pure pain
Reminds me of the Fallout 4 settlement building system. Thankfully you can get a plugin/mod to fix that (Place anywhere). Much easier.
Great costumes, great scenerie, great graphics!!! And as usual, great acting and script!
So accurate. And annoying. About as annoying as the fences that you try to bend around, but they just don't quite meet up...
And this is why I am the camp mum and my buddy is the camp builder...
Yes, I have heard him scream about a mother loving structure refusing to place numerous times in much harsher language...
Freakin... You guys really ramp up the production quality O.o
Looking amazing!
Ben: I'm gonna build a generator
The generator: LET'S GO ON AN ADVENTUUUURE!
So true! Green flashed and even half a millimeter move left and right only blink green.
They forgot to add him to a group and He couldn't place the generator in "enemy's base" territory.
placing the campfire in ARK be like
The worst is misplacing and having to destroy it and lose half the resources. 😂

Honestly that special effect was just incredible, awesome job
Expected Ben to keep searching for place to put the generator across the Viva-verse. And 10 hours version
I feel this one deep. The pain, especially when it just looks out of place when you finally do get it placed.
Holy crap, that was some awesome CGI! Smooth and perfectly followed Ben's movements! Great job!
The worst is the brief glimpse of green that you wonder if you actually saw or just your mind wanting to see what it wants for a nanosecond.
The CGI of a hologram and how it moves with Ben is so good, it took me a whole minute to actually realize that it isn't real
Saw it coming & still laughed…good job!
Hats off to the vfx peeps. The generator looks so good!
Props to whoever did the special effects for this video. That shit looked awesome, genuinely curious how you did it.

This sketch gives me PTSD from multiple games... ❌
Hilarious, but also really impressive editing with the generator. The movement and visual was super smooth!
Satisfactory before unlocking foundations
1 minute 20 seconds in, I predict a plot twist that rowan doesn't have the materials
As a VFX artist I appreciated the locked camera in the shots, someone was thinking of the effect-monkeys when filming.
Obvious bug since he was able to place it so far outside the base. Excellent work with the graphics by the way. Love how well that tracks with him as he moves.

It's amazing to see how much the base (and VLDL's Budget) has grown over the years.
comes back week or 2 later in gaming and goes "oh, ya i put that there", classic gamer moment for me
Congratulations to the VFX team, those holograms look amazing
Take a 5min break from placing an annoying structures in Valheim.. and VLDL drops this 10min before. Nice!
I feel your pain as a fellow valheim player. eventually my bases look like they were built by a madman...because I went mad trying to build them

Damn, those placement graphics are gorgeous, many kudos to the gfx people.
There's always room in the most dangerous biome or an enemy camp, for some reason.
I love the wolf howling in the background.
It's not a wolf. It's a K9. 🐺
