Thank you, Veronica. Thanks to you I am learning something. I am still at the beginning, meaning I understand a few words here and there, and I can grasp a few sentences now and then. With perseverance and commitment, I will be able to understand much more than what is said in RUclips videos, podcasts, or movies
I watch your videos from Bangladesh. I can learn many new things by watching your videos which help me a lot in learning English. I hope you will continue to provide such videos in the future. 🇧🇩
Thanks a lot, Veronika, for your precious tips! As an English teacher in Brazil I can say that I am sure my students will be thankful for such important information! (I mean, of course I WILL share this video with them, you know...)
Thank you so much 😊 about this informations I think I will improve my level in this language.I will try Listening everyday to English of course America 🇺🇸... from Morocco 🇲🇦 thank you ☺️ have a nice days
A good lesson. Thanks Veronika. I'm from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. Though you're not a native speaker you speak just like one. A great achievement, indeed. Yes, it's hard to understand native speakers because they speak so fast. It's not easy to understand an English film or an English song. Even native speakers find it hard to understand some English. Anyway, it's not difficult to understand BBC podcasts and its programmes. I'm a person who has been listening to all BBC programmes for a long time. At the beginning, I found it hard to understand what they said, but little by little I was able to understand everything. Now, I'm used to British English accent. That's because I'm a regular listener to those programmes. We're able to listen to people with different English accents when listening to BBC programmes. For example, BBC Radio 4 is a great channel where we can listen to clear English. There are a lot of channels on RUclips that provide us with high quality documentaries. BBC documentaries are the best of all. Also, DW, Aljazeera, National Geographic documentaries are good. Actually, they're my favourite channels. It's not difficult to understand these documentaries at all, and for me, there's no need to switch on the auto generated subtitles to understand them. I have been fully used to them because of my regular watching and listening. Though we understand them it's not easy to understand film dialogues so easily. That is due to the fast and connected speech. Native speakers don't articulate words as we do when speaking. They use a lot of phrasal verbs, slang and some words and phrases that are not familiar to us. So, we have to learn these phrases and words. There are lots of RUclips channels that guide us on how to understand natives. Not all of these channels provide us with better guidance. Some English tutors on RUclips are not real teachers, but fake ones who cheat people. They are not professionally qualified, but have a large number of followers on their channels. Here I must mention one such fake tutor on RUclips. Her RUclips channel name is Linguamarina. She's a Russian lady who is living in the US and making learning videos. She's speaking just like a native speaker but she doesn't know that she speaks wrong English. Speaking wrong English she's guiding all her followers to speak correct English. This is funny. The terrible mistakes she makes in her videos are shown to us by other professionally qualified native English teachers. Actually they're all beginner level mistakes. So, learners must be careful when learning under a fake teacher like that Linguamarina youtuber. Choosing right content is important.
Hello Veronika, good afternoon! I greet you with pleasure in this new time, hoping you are fine in health. Great video, very interesting. I liked it much. Have a good night, wherever you are. Greetings from México 🇲🇽... 👍
Maybe U R the first teacher I completely understand (almost without subtitles). Thanks for this great lesson, your explanation is really easy and understandable! I hope you won't stop doing this content, 'cause it helps me a lot (and not just me) P. S privet iz Rossii :)
Hey , veronika 👋 , I'm srilankan student whom watch your RUclips shorts and videos , where are you from dear ✨🦋💜 teacher sister You're very good for me 🙂, ur gorgeous 😍
Thank you so much, Veronika. It was a useful tip and a lot of resources for learning to spice. Luckily, I already heard about BBC Learning English. You recommend a youtube channel and I will follow it.
I can understand 100% that you say, but I tried hear some podcasts and I don't understand many things that they said 😢. My friends tell me "You are fluently in english guy", but I not feel comfortable to speaking with a foreigner, not even writing this post (I'm not use Google Translate to fix my mistakes).
I'm from Bangladesh, As English is my 2nd language, it's a bit challenging for me to understand the pronunciation in English movies , Even I don't have a good vocabulary sometimes I need to search words meaning . The main problem I face is I can't understand some idioms or phrases like cut off , fight off turned off in movies
