What's the fuss? It wasn't epoxy primer. Clear coat the paint. It smells like grapes when shooting it. Do wear a respirator if you shoot it. How many respirator phanatics store the mask in a sealed bag when not using it? Yep, you need to do that.
I appreciate it when youtubers just get into the meat and potatoes of a video. No 10 minutes monologuing or telling me to subscribe and ring the bell. Just straight into it. Thanks.
Hey! Just pinning this comment to say thanks to everyone that sent me nice messages while I was gone, lots asking if I was okay, it means a lot! Yes, I'm okay, was a busy end of the year wrapping up a whole bunch of projects I'm excited to show off shortly! Thanks also who bought my house template over the holidays, it was a very exciting christmas seeing notifications of people buying something I put so much time into. Thanks again for the support! Trent
Even though you don’t post as much as other crafters I really enjoy your videos because I can feel how much you enjoy this hobby. Like in that video where you talk about you and your dad.
Hey man, I watch a lot of RUclips, and a lot of hobby channels, but I stop everything and watch your videos when they appear. I've been hobbying for many years, but I always see new stuff in your videos, even when you do a topic that I'm already familiar with, like making tables. I love the way you did the pvc edging, and it would be so nice to keep dice from rolling off. Cheers!
Damn. That is a good friend to pay you double so you could make a table after seeing how much you wanted to do another. We could all use friends like that in our lives. Glad to see you back making cool terrain and uploading your process.
Awesome!! I love the classic old world look. Not gonna lie I watched it on mute because my wife is asleep next to me and I can’t find my headphones but I’m glad you are back! I’ll have to watch it again tomorrow.
I’m in school right now and the second I saw the notification I freaked out, stopped everything, and clicked on it without even caring what it was about. All I have to say is that it was worth it man! Keep up the good work!
"Make a table for 40k" A 40k planet with grass? And trees? Now THAT'S rare. Must be some knife-ear Exodite agri-world, give me a good hive or a Manufactorum ANY day. (Great vid man, really instructional. Never done landscape before, might give it a go now!)
Wow thanks for this tutorial. A storm resently destroyed my gaming room in the garage (no minis or scenerey were hurt thanfully) and I was wondering how I would go about restoring it. This is a must have.
Miscast!!! I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you back! I love your videos, your builds, your content! You’re one of my heroes! If you had a slump, that makes me sad (watching this and your unfinished builds back to back). BUT I am so happy you’ve found your love again. You’re just as good or better than those bigger channels! ITS YOUR TURN! :D
This is fantastic and has removed a lot of the fear for me as I start planning my first diorama board. Going through your archives has been a brilliant use of a Sunday morning too! Cheers!
Amazing table, great work. I love the quality of this tutorial as well. I'm sure when I get the funds to have a crack at this. Also, fair play to your friend/client for not only matching the asking price but doubling it. As a creative myself, I know that a lot of people are hesitant to pay for the services we provide.
Thanks for making this video. I make a lot of terrain, but this board really ties it all in together so well. It'd actually be pretty easy to store too, so that's a huge plus. Remarkably inspiring stuff, and filmed so well too!
So happy to see one of your videos in my subs again! Amazing job! I've been thinking of making a 'table-topper' out of foam for a while, rather than a full on wood gaming table, this is exactly what I needed to see. Cheers!
Wow. Just wow! I think I may utilize this video in the future when me and my partner finally move into our own place and I have room for a larger board.
I just checked your channel yesterday to see if I had somehow missed some videos but alas nothing for months. And low and behold you post another video today! You’ve been missed.
Very good. It's easy and fun to do. Everyone should get their hands dirty from time to time, to time it's very relaxing. I made my present table in an afternoon, using some old chipboard given to me by a friend. I recently made Senlac Hill for the battle of hastings, which fits nicely on it, as does my expansive English Civil War redoubt. All made with polystyrene tiles, ready mix plaster and hair curlers. The thing is, have a go, it's great fun and you can only improve with practice. Another tip, never throw things away. I keep corks, match sticks, cocktail sticks, little blocks of wood etc etc, they all get used eventually.
The world would be so much better, if everyone just asked themselves "Am I being and idiot?" Great video and great advice, also with the mistakes, to take it calm and keep moving!
Very well done. I really like the homemade mixtures you applied to the table the end result is fantastic.I have never seen someone edge a table like that. I may have to look into that. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you mate, lovely hearing that from you. If I had the skill I would have preferred a nice wood trim but the PVC is super light, I can lift the table myself and confidently store it vertically so not a bad result!
Man watching this makes me want to build a table. I've made an adequate armies on parade board, and restored an old 4x4 board that was beat to hell and back, and both were so much fun despite the challenges they presented.
In a world now dominated by roll out mat game boards... So nice to see people still making and using actual game boards... they just add so much more immersion to your games I feel. Great video mate!
Oh man, I was searching for a good, light, easy to store game table for tabletop gaming but didn't want to build it out of wood... Thank you so much, sometimes the answer is right infront of you, but you need someone to press your face into it :D
Your videos are great! I appreciate that you don't spend an exuberant amount of time explaining or discussing things, you're right to the point. Fantastic work and great table!
Let’s gooooo!! Welcome back so happy to see a video from you once again. Because of you and others I made my own channel it was a great decision to make
high quality video, easy understanding, appropiate time length. This is what come to my mind since 2 years ago. Cant wait to see your channel become big
Whaaaaaa! I wouldn’t have guess you knew me lmao I feel so honored! I realized today that I was subscribed to you on my regular account but not my RUclips account. Subbed on both to make sure I don’t miss your videos.
I just found your channel and have binged it all. Very well done! I'd love to see a dice tower build that can double as terrain if you're looking for project ideas.
Table came out real well! I've always made more modular boards / scatter because I have a boardgame table with a drop in vault...so I've got a dedicated space. My current issue is a lack of places to PUT more large tables.....but I still want them!
@miscast Thanks for posting this amazing idea, my son and I want to build a table and you have just given us some amazing ideas. We got into Warhammer 40k this summer and now we need a table big enough for some of our longer range characters. You my friend have delivered as we were cringing at the price of lumber! Thank you so much. I'll be sure to try and send you pics as we progress. :)
Thank you for this tutorial. I've been wanting to make a game table for some time and have been rather overwhelmed by the scope of such a project. I have a couple questions: Where do you store your game table, or where do you plan to store it, when not in use? How do you protect it when storing it?
The table is light enough to be stored vertically and water-resistant so it can be stored anywhere without fear of warping. Ryley has a home for it in his house in mind when he takes the table.
I've officially been inspired to make a table for my D&D group and my recently recharged 40k minis! Might not happen tomorrow or next month, but most likely sometime this year!
For sure. Well this is not the solution then hahah! I really like gaming mats for the portability factor and there's some great ones around, that'd be my go to.

Glad to see you creating RUclips content once more! And inspired to have a go at creating my own Table now (not a TOPPER... those are for fancy Cakes 😜)!
I saw the nice green field and the words "Warhammer 40k" and went into this thinking it was a joke and he was going to end with a light pass of a flamethrower. This isn't what I expected, but I was not disappointed. This is nice.
Lol. Thats a great idea. Green grass was cool in 40k like 20 years ago! The second table I build was mostly for 40k and uses the jungle terrain from another video (shame I didn't get a good shot of it all together). Thanks mate
Oh no you didn't! Upload before me hey!? Well damn... You had to make a great vid to boot. 😫 In all seriousness though Trent, GREAT vid man. I love your video work and the table looks stunning. Looking forward to seeing more!
You should wear a particle mask when sanding or spraying, it'll make you die less :)
Totally agree!
pfff, min-maxers
Everyone does, but not everyone LIVES LIKE A MAN!
What's the fuss? It wasn't epoxy primer. Clear coat the paint. It smells like grapes when shooting it. Do wear a respirator if you shoot it. How many respirator phanatics store the mask in a sealed bag when not using it? Yep, you need to do that.
That comment made me spit on my screen
“I like to routinely ask myself: am I being an idiot?” Such sage advice.
Proceeds to sand, paint and varnish without a respirator
I asked myself that question and realized I have to leave in an hour and haven’t slept yet
Yes I am
I will take that advice to the grave
It makes me think thats an Office shout out,. :)
I appreciate it when youtubers just get into the meat and potatoes of a video. No 10 minutes monologuing or telling me to subscribe and ring the bell. Just straight into it. Thanks.

That first table looks really good too. That pvc edge is such a good idea!
Thank you mate! Always great seeing you comment.
All the stuff you make is so aesthetically pleasing, from the terrain to the videos. More please.

I'm so convinced that foam is an unsuitable material for a project like this, but I do think that the end product looks really goddamn good.
