Why You Feel Poor: The Real Salary Map of Europe (Median Income 2026)

‼️ATTENTION: In this video, we have considered the MEDIAN EQUIVALISED NET INCOME.
Most salary data you find online or via a quick Google search is misleading. Often, those figures represent "Gross Averages" which are inflated by top earners or reflect the total income of an entire household without considering how many people actually live on that money.
Why did we use "Equivalised" income?
Because a raw paycheck doesn't tell the whole truth. Earning €2,500 as a single individual is a completely different reality compared to sharing that same €2,500 within a family of four. The "Equivalised" method is the only honest way to measure your actual standard of living.
How is it calculated?
Following the official Eurostat and OECD-modified scale, this indicator takes the total net income of a household (after all taxes and social contributions), and divides it by a weighted number of family members (1.0 for the first adult, 0.5 for each additional member over 14, and 0.3 for children).
The Source of Truth:
These are not journalistic estimates. These are official figures provided by National Statistical Institutes (such as ISTAT, INSEE, or Destatis) and transmitted directly to Eurostat. It is the most rigorous data available to understand how much "well-being" truly remains in each individual's pocket, stripped of propaganda and adjusted for real-world family burdens.
