Lovely to hear from you, Louise. I'm reading the Agatha Bio by Lucy Worsley too with my version of your wonderful bookmark, still very much loving it ♥ Personally September was a better month, after all the summer heat and drought, it finally started to rain and cool down and I'm feeling much better, but I'm also quite sad about the Queen and Hillary Mantel. Lots of love to you and your family and enjoy your biscuits
I want to read the Agatha Christie bio very much, and after listening to your recap of Wintering I want to read that as well. Interesting topic of how much authors should let us in to their lives. I quite agree, if you’re going to write about it, there has to be some level of privacy suspension. I would come to the book as a wintering newbie so I’m interested to see what I think of it. It’s always lovely to see you, Louise, and I hope you have a wonderful week.💕
Hi Louise!! Oh I just loved this video! I am starting on my journey of Agatha Christie with The Murderous Affair at Styles! I have wanted to read her for many many years but just haven't! I have decided to take a big break from insta (it just sucks me in with all the new and shiny)! I want to take time to really explore what I love to read and not whats popular to read! I absolutely love your channel and always look forward to new videos!
Yes, I've read Wintering and felt exactly as you did, something missing somehow. A shame as I was sure it would be the kind of book I love. I think I'd better treat myself to Lucy Worsley's book as everyone seems to be talking about it. My favourite book about Agatha is actually her autobiography... definitely one of my favourite ever memoirs.
Yea! A visit with Louise!! The Agatha bio sounds wonderful!! Thank you for the recommendation. I, too, am very sad about Hillary and Elizabeth. Both big losses for the world.
So happy to see you,Louise. Have you listened to any Nostalgic detective type podcasts? Recently I listened to an old studio radio recording of Agatha Christie’s Nemesis. It was a full cast and very entertaining. I’m watching Lucy Worley’s new Black Death show on public tv as I type this. Hope your laundry dried☺️
Thank you Louise for another delightful video. I haven’t read any of these books but I feel always inspired after seeing you talk about about them. I hope Benedict gets better! 😍❤️📚Sad about the Queen and Hillary Mantel
I am with you about Agatha Christie …. I first read her when I was very young but let’s not go into how many years ago that was lol 😂… please come back and let us know what you thought about it when you finish it …. I am interested in that book 📚💞📚
Hello Louise, Oh I wondered what your thoughts would be on Lucy Worsley's book. I've ordered a signed copy and I believe that at the moment it is somewhere between the UK and Canada. Perhaps it'll be in my mailbox this week? Hope so. The month of September has really flown by for me but I don't know why. We haven't done much except for an end of summer party last weekend but it could just be because the last few months of the year always seem to zip past in the blink of an eye. I was so sorry to hear about Hillary Mantel's passing but I have to confess that I've never read her books. Yes, and I call myself a historical fiction lover. I don't know why but I just never picked them up. I just read Margaret George's first book in her two book series on the Emperor Nero. She's one of my favourite historical fiction authors and I've read most of her books. My top favourite history writer was Sharon Kay Penman who sadly passed away two years ago. Her book The Sunne in Splendor is amazing ... as are all her other books. Cheers!
Watching this as i munch some pain aux raisins that I made. Cover of Wintering is gorge. Never read any Colleen Hoover - her books sound like trash lol. I am about to start Days of Abandonment by Elena Ferrante, which I am getting from the library once I've finished Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo. Have you read any Ferrante? And yes it was so sad to hear of Hilary Mantel's passing. That's so cool about how you got sneaky information about new books Mantel was working on.
i regularly read memoirs and find it deeply unsatisfying how stingy some authors are with doling out facts and feelings of their personal life...and often this is combined with, pardon my french, a lot of belly-aching..read one recently that came highly recommended and it bored and angered me...lots of repetition about recovering from heartache and swimming to handle it..meanwhile the author is finishing up in a doctoral program and i don't even know what her speciality was..and it seemed to give her no joy to have such an opportunity to study...talk about privilege.
So happy to see you! Love your book reviews. Blessings on your family.

Verity is one of my favorite books ever!!!
I am also wondering if my laundry is going to dry before dark. Also guessing no. 😂

I read Wintering this month and had high hopes but sadly I got very little from it.
You have two fun channels. Where have you disappeared to again?
