  • A mwaie (traditional dance) from the Republic of Kiribati performed by 'Te Keangi Ni Marawa' dance group on Tarawa, Kiribati. Video was recorded in 1999 during the commemoration of the 20th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Kiribati.

    This is the same dance group that initiated the new millenium in Kiribati's Millenium Island in 2000 with world new coverage from CNN, NBC, NBC, Al Jezeera, BBC, and a lot of other news agencies from around the world.

    Second on the left at second row is my grandfather's brother; his name is Baraatu. In front of him is his daughter. I can't recognise the rest.
