    I think BDSM is actually a metaphor. Look. In an interview, the interviewer asked them about their opinion on BDSM and their answer was: ''It's all about consent''.
    Since their main message is the wickedness of capitalism, I think they want us to realize that somehow we consent politicians to take advantage and smash the society when we vote them. It's all about consent. It seems like we love politicians to hurt us

    The first time I heard it in Söngvakeppnin I fell in love with it and I KNEW that it was going to be my all-time favourite ESC entry to date, so when it was chosen I almost fell out of my chair out of joy xD. I doubt that any song in a few upcoming ESC's will overtake it as my number one. 12 points to Hatari from Sweden!

      All the Scandis voting for each other this year. Lol I'm sure Iceland will give Sweden 12 as well.
      Also, I heard every xxx9 year, an Nodoc country wins and Iceland gets 2nd place like how Norway won in 2009 and Iceland got 2nd.

      Ohhh yeaaahhh I absolutely love this soong and I want them so bad to win. But... damn it! They will end up in a second place... or maybe... the third time lucky. I really hope so. Congratulations from Spain❤❤❤

  • @KajsaBernhardina
    @KajsaBernhardina 5 лет назад +22

    Yeah, this is a 10/10 for me. I have 3 favourites this year and Iceland is one of them. It's just so unapologetic you just have to love it. And as a Swede I appreciate the fact that they kept it in Icelandic so I can sing/scream along in some parts (fyi Swedish and Icelandic are somewhat similar).
    Prediction: Will reach the final, but once there, the jury will slaughter it. I really hope I am wrong, but I think this will be a Ukraine 2018 or Italy 2018 phenomenon where the jury and the televote completely disagree with each other. The juries of recent years have NOT rewarded risk-taking entries like this so I don't see why they would suddenly embrace Hatari. But I hope I am wrong, I would be really happy to see them win!

    I guess I've never been so hyped for Eurovision than I am this year! And It's just because of Hatari 😂❤
    I usually don't listen to this type of music, but when I heard this song for the first time I was so shocked and addicted to it! I also love them, because they are so smart and handsome as well 😂
    I will vote for them from 🇨🇿.

  • @Gopichant
    @Gopichant 5 лет назад +27

    This is it. Look no further. Iceland has selected an unstoppable force to represent them at ESC. At the Icelandic preselection I had just one minor issue with Hatari and that was Klemens’ subpar vocal performance. Every note evolved into an adventure. That is why I originally favoured Armenia by a small margin in my personal rankings. I guess someone told Klemens there is room for improvement and he would be well-advised to hire a vocal coach, because at the ESC-party in Spain he showed significant improvement. So sorry, Armenia... 😇 If Hatari’s staging emulates the quality of the song this year’s ESC will be remembered as the Hatari-show with 40 special guests. Their beat is great, the message is as strong as can be, the show is awesome and the optics - just wow! (10/10)

    Absolutely love this. Everyone at Eurovision in Concert wanted to see this, you could feel it in the venue, this was highly anticipated ... and they were fantastic, I love their message, I love their 'staying in character' I love the humor, I find them both attractive ,but let's not forget that behind all that the backbone of the act is this fantastic song. Love it. 10/10 for me.

  • @johanna3001

    What is still standing from the first viewing is a superb piece of art and a gripping song, so captivating that not even falling brimstone (or leather straps) can make me turn away. When it stops playing I want to see it again. What has changed from the first viewing is my phobia for leather straps and anything I deemed embarrassing in Icelandic Eurovision entries.
    It has gone from "Oh wow, this is so ridiculous we have to send it" to "Oh wow, this is so good in every aspect". The music, singers, dancers ... have you ever seen a Eurovision piece before where everything in a busy stage is so perfectly placed and so undeniably an essential part of the whole entry, that it can not be left out?
    If this song belongs in Eurovision? Yes. Has anyone clued in that it actually is training us in becoming less judgmental? Add that to everything else and I give the song 20 out of 10. Also just figured out that less judgmental world would be less capitalistic, less to buy to fit in etc. That is so perfect actually. Really hope the song will get enough votes to qualify for the main event. Would be a nice change for Icelanders :)

  • @vanjalj

    My score is a ten. This is musical, but also really clever, I can't praise it enough. When I initially heard it, I didn't get it, but it got stuck in my head. Now, I can't wait to see what they'll do on stage. If this gets enough media coverage outside of Eurovision, I could see this winning, or coming really close to winning. Go Iceland, go Hatari!

    this simply HAS to win, a lot of songs are deserving this year but I can't take my eyes off HATARI. The message is clever, the song is catchy, the visual is stunning. Personally I feel it's the best song ever from Eurovision since 1956, on every front. I especially love the music & the message. I really want them to slay the contest this year, & I so admire Iceland for selecting this entry.
    I feel it's a very strong contest this year, one of the strongest in the last decade. It's rare for me to enjoy an ESC song so much that it's on my playlist for more than a couple of days, but already I've been listening to several tracks every day since they were first released, particularly Ukraine (I wish she were still going to Tel Aviv), Malta, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Portugal & Armenia. That is very rare for me.
    I'm really looking forward to this year's contest, a lot more than usual. Modern music has been rather mundane over the past decade, but this year's show has given me hope that artists are ushering in an era of originality. 😀

  • @slitherzither
    @slitherzither 5 лет назад +10

    They are my #1 of course. 😊 "Toy" was kind of divisive last year too but it won, so I don't see why Hatari can't pull off a victory. I wasn't following ESC yet the year Lordi won, but I imagine that entry would've been divisive as well. The guys might need that letter of apology. 😁 Reykjavík 2020!

    Not so surprised by the global jury. Surprised that the boys scored it so high and liked it so much. Not sure they got it, though.
    If you look at any translation of the lyrics, you'll see that Klemens' part, while "angelic"-sounding, is *anything* but hopeful. And what Matthias is growling out isn't purely "dark", he's also screaming a warning, a "Wake the FscK UP, the building is ON FIRE and about to COLLAPSE!" to people who are willfully ignoring the danger.

    This doesn't kick ass. This spanks ass.
    I don't really like industrial music, so I can't really say why I like this so much. It has a strong visual, a strong sound, a strong everything. The screaming is on point (not so much live, but it's still pretty good). I'm a bit worried about the singing but it will whip.

    Iceland has taken things to another level this year and I like it a lot 😍😍 if Iceland dont qualify and get a top 5 in the final then it will be a big crime , I actually would be happy if it won coz Iceland hasn't won yet 😍😍😍😍

    The best song of the whole esc history. This is a masterpiece, no doubts. I'm going to be very disappointed this year, if they don't win
