I remember all the rivers but the Don river down town runing full of fish . They used to look like that when i wss twenty . I am almost 53 . So, not that long ago . I quit fishing because of pressure. For how many are in this video is noting to how packed it used to be with fisher men . I think we all made the choice collectivly to quit . This is terrible. I've never seen them in such shallow water. Most of them are gonna die and get injured. Some are already gone belly up..very painful all those rocks are gonna tear them up. This is not a special event this is sad. Most of those ppl probably don't even realize what's actually happening. Fkn cruel. Can they not open the damn up more to allow more water in. This breaks my heart. I fish all the time since I was a kid and I've never seen this in my life this bad. Wow. Crazy. Waste of good fish. N I thought fishing salmon was closed right now. Thought it seen a article they stopped it a couple months ago because too many ppl were waiding in and fishing them and littering. Or was that an old post meant for northern. I've only fished salmon once. So not sure the rules now..but I love it, but I never got a chance to bring some home. They are beautiful fish and quite the fighters..😢
Once they introduced the Pacific salmon to please the sports fishermen that was the beginning of the ruin of the great speckled and brown trout fishing that you could do in the Ganaraska and many of the other rivers in Northumberland County. It's a shame!
well my friend, she caught 6 specks in about an hour and 2 browns after that in the ganny a few weeks back. Even a few baby chinooks. shows the river is doing better than well. Those fry were born before the sept 1st ban. So no shame i see.
@chriskumar4201 I think the demise of a lot of the good fishing started with the introduction of the rainbows. There used to be lots of suckers and smelts that no longer exist any more. There are probably still some as you say but not near as good as it used to be.

@MikeMcKenzie-y4y You quit because of fishing pressure? Then you can't call yourself a fisherman and lost the concept of fishing. You have to adapt.

I just witnessed an Asian man downtown at 6:41 am with a backpack full of roe and him cutting it out of dead fish. NOT LEGAL.

I saw several white men fishing and catching the Salomon. Do you report them too or only the Asian man?

The Asians want to own all those fish
Remove the dam and let the fish alone. Declare the area above the dam sanctuary.
Are they allowing fishing there because when I went it was mid of September they said not allowed in port hop
You can fish there oct 15 they closed it sept 1 to oct 14
