Seeing this deleted scene really cracked me up...it reminded me of the pranks my late hubby would pull ALL THE TIME! They really should have left it in...I have first hand knowledge that when you lose a spouse, you spend part of your time crying, and part laughing...it's really a great film. I saw it once, and bought the DVD.
Oh my gosh...I couldn't help crying at this...But it is so Gerry... I freaked out when he 'fainted' but then cracked up by the end.... loved it ....love him ...and this movie
I have always loved Gerard, he is such a great actor. The movie touched me in so many ways.I remember crying all night that night! What a sad movie, I stayed depressed for a whole week! :(
aw i wish they'd kept that in.love the book and the film sooo much : ) love how you go from bawling your eyes out to laughing your head off every 5 mins.
I love this movie. I stumbled across it this spring right after my sis-in-law (she was my best friend) died. I immediately bought it and have re-watched MANY times.
me too..!!! and gerry was amazing..!!!but i havent read the book,,so after seeing the movie I bought the book, and then every time i read it i have gerry in my mind and that made the book seem more touching and more handsome..!:-p I cried as while reading the book.Much more details..!!
this scene captures everything the movie is. It's the sadness mixed with fun. I really like this scene. I don't think it would have worked in the movie, but I'm glad they included it on the dvd.
Oh my god poor Gerry he really does look like he's dying! Poor guy. I always wondered if he was balding and sickly looking during his last days. I cried looking at him
Thank you for posting it.. I saved it in my favorites albeit with an aching heart and guts... Not sure either if i would like having seen it in the movie..... It's pretty distructing yet, it is reality...and it's what Gerry and Holly had to deal and struggle with.... Now i understand why GB quite on smoking.....Seeing oneself in the mirror under this make up is a huge anti-smoking motivation.....
O I want to get the book, too! :) I can not forget that scene where he first met her on her first trip to Irland..How come we don't meet interesting, mysterious, good looking men like that!! :D HAHHAHA
I don’t have a boyfriend he doesn’t love me anymore I wish I was able to love him more than anything in the world I want nothing for the best for him I wish I was able to love him until the end now he has a girlfriend this brings me so many memories of when he took me to see this movie
You tell me..honestly i hope if i ever go to scotland or ireland i hope to meet the man of my life.. i am greek but i have a thing for scottish and irish men..!!!aka Gerry..!! I am honestly in love with this man,how is that possible??
i think it's okay they deleted it. i mean he's real funny but it would be the only scene where we get to see him that ill, and the whole movie shows us Gerry in the memory of Holly and in that he's not hurt in any way.
i was also so disappointed this scene wasn't in d movie... this was the part that i cried most when reading the book.. so,it was kind of a let down when i saw the movie.. thank goodness i see it here though!
I guess the director did not put this scene in the movie because it was Hilary Swank's journey to finding Gerry's clues and surprises, had they put that scene, there would not have been the element of surprise , at least to us as viewers. And someone mentioned in one of the previous posts the journey is Swank's character's perspective and journey.
Gerry always surprises me. I really liked the scene expecting mourn but made me laugh a lot. I get the impression that I had already seen this scene in another movie. It is hard to say if they had to cut this scene or not. To me if I liked. I am more in favor of that had not been cut because I do not like too much drama. I prefer comedy. Although black humor.
Im kinda sad that they didnt put this in the movie i read the book and was thinking that that would have been a good scene to put in the movie. And also evreyone is saying that its on the special features but i dont think the dvd i bought has it is it onlike a special edition dvd or something?

Am sooooo glad they didn't include this scene in the movie. Was very upsetting and would have detracted from it. Don't need that much realism. :-(
yes, thank God they omitted it.

That scene is so good. So perfectly acted by both protagonists. A little gem
NOPE.no gem here.Glad that shit wasnt on the movie would have ruined the hole thing
is this scene on DVD edition or ? is there any making of this movie?
:) Hahhaha me,too! :P I have a thing for Scottish and Irish men! I looove accents! :P lo hehheh

Nope, too much. It's the open scenes that make this movie work,
I don't think this would've ruined it at all. I would've loved to have seen this scene in the movie.
Omg I went from tearing up to bursting out in laughter xD!
No es gracioso ...
Don't recognize that accent at all, can't place what part of Ireland he was trying to copy! lame attempt, piss poor voice coach to!
