My favorite song in the album. I have a bias towards Eastern Asian music, especially with the timbre of their instruments. I love how parts of the song sound like a new piece, and each is so emotional and passionate. Looking forward to more songs in the future and I wish Yu-Peng Chen the best.
It’s the first piece that made me cry from the new album, perhaps because I so eagerly anticipated his traditional Chinese-style music. When I heard the opening part, it featured the sound of reindeer sleigh bells alongside the pipa, a traditional Chinese instrument. A few seconds later, the erhu emerged. These are two distinctly different cultures coming together, but YPC fused them perfectly-amazing! It felt like I was witnessing a beautiful world where ice and snow are melting. After hearing the latter part, I realized it’s still a piece of Chinese-style music. As I grew to love it more and more, I became increasingly moved, and eventually, I cried. When my friend asked why I was crying, I explained that I was listening to a new piece by a musician I really admire. Then, I began recommending Yu-Peng Chen’s works. I have to say, these perfect melodies played by various Chinese traditional instruments are beautifully accompanied by the dynamic crescendos and decrescendos of the symphony orchestra. Additionally, I really appreciate the subtle caesura breaks between phrases that he likes to use. When I heard the sound of the horsehead fiddle in the final part, it reminded me of another piece, ‘Wandering Clouds 野云万里,’ by YPC, which I also love. Btw my favorite piece is ‘Daughter of the sea and the moon’,even though this piece moved me deeply as well.In fact, every single piece is amazing! Love your music❤
This piece is like the musical melody of the high mountains in the East It is a piece you would love to hear in a fantasy story of divine beings living in harmony and celebrating the calming winter snow
There's too many different melodies that appear throughout the entire track. It sounds like 7 different melodies mixed together. Listening to the start and the end, it feels like 2 different pieces, not one. Difficult to listen to.
There are only 3 distinct sections to the piece, which is in roughly an ABCA form, with each section having its own melody. All the melodies are related and share one or more similarities so the whole piece actually feels quite well glued together to me, especially because the A theme not only appears subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) in the B and C sections, but actually comes back fully in the end (before the coda). Despite this, I can understand how some people, like you, might not be able to feel or hear the relation, so the piece would therefore seem more incohesive. However, your second last sentence doesn't really make sense because the A section reprises at the end with the exact same melody, only differing with a more full bodied orchestration.

this piece of song doesnt need lyrics to make me emotional. he is able to convey strong feeling into melody
I recognized Jiajun Ma from Genshin's live concert last year! He was also part of the Genshin special program v4.4 for the patch with Chenyu Vale :)
I LOVE this one. I'm ethnic Chinese and this is the one that brought me to tears. Something about it immediately makes me think of coming home.

☺Yaaaaay another behind the scenes video! Pretty sure that's the erhu player at Genshin concerts (within China)?!
Ma Jiajun, yes. He's the one we see in the concerts and some of the recordings. Particularly iconic in Rage Beneath the Mountains.
我最喜欢老师的“品茗尝清心”❤❤每次心情不好就会去望舒客栈❤❤
One of my favorite tracks of the whole album 💯
I respect the composer who was the opportunity for me to start composing..!
One of my favourite one, I need more compositions with Chinese instruments.
I need more of his album. I can never not vibe to it.
Thank you for this wonderfully insightful content! It's so inspiring!
Amazing, I never thought I would hear French horns used in this way with eastern articulations.
The orchestra is awesome!!!

The R&B rhythm at the later stage of this song is very pleasant to listen

Yupeng Chen! Would you consider making music for wuthering waves?? 考虑过做明朝的音乐吗
