Thanks So much, 🙂🙏🙏
Thanks for taking us along Ian - good to see you and Henry collaborating, my two favourites!
Thanks buddy, More to come! 🙂👍
Enjoying your travels with Henry. My 2 favourite tutors. Cant tell you how much my photography has improved watching your vlogs. Thanks again.
Thanks so much 👍
Ah so good mate, loved this. Great shots at Elgol man. Absolutely love how different photographers’ photos can be even though you’re together at the same spot for hours!! I really appreciate the ebook shoutout too mate 🙏🏻👍🏼
Can be so different** 👍🏼
Adam Gibbs was also at Elgol. You've all managed to come away with a different interpretation of the location, but great photos from all of you.
What a day mate, absolutely loved it 👍
Thanks so much 👍
Great images! Love seeing you team up with Henry you guys are great. What do you wear for weather like that? Again thanks for the video and showing how you breakdown a composition and determine the settings you want or need.
Fantastic video Ian, thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍👍
Cheers Stephen 👍
Another brilliant video! I get so much from your wisdom and skill as landscape fotographer. Also, I continue to thoroughly enjoy your Zine 30 Days Vol. 1. Looking forward to Vol. 2. I should mention that I like very much when you and Henry Turner collaborate.
Many thanks! that means a lot. I'm glad you are enjoying my collabs with Henry, many more to come 🙂
Thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring as always Ian
Coincidentally, last night I watched a TV program about one of the Lake District mountain rescue operations. A man had been crossing a stream which had slippery rocks and resulted in him falling and breaking his arm. The MR had to get a helimed because the injury was so bad. I often photograph waterfalls which inevitably requires negotiating such difficult and dangerous conditions. I invariably carry a set of 'spikes' (mini-crampons) which I find invaluable in such situations for improving grip on slippery surfaces and at around £25-£30 are not expensive. They also don't weigh much or take up much space. Also could save a load os expensive photo gear going in the drink. 😀
Just back from Pembrokeshire, off north above Inverness in a few weeks, probably crossing on the M6 etc.. say 'Hi' to Henry! Elgol at sunset, you're both blessed - best place to capture light - Excellent video, Ian
Great video and stunning pictures. I used to watch over a dozen photographers content but have narrowed it down recently. Yours and Henry's are my favourites. Great to see both of you collaborating.
Wow, thank you 🙏
A lovely watch. Been a pleasure to be on the ride that is your YT channel, always a relaxing and informative watch with your genuine passion coming through. I was a tad worried for you on the rock in the river though, glad you and the camera didn't fall in!
Much appreciated! yes, it was a little risky haha
What beautiful places and photos, thank you for sharing, I'm learning a lot about photo landscape looking at your videos, and also a lot of english! Ciao from Italy
Glad you like them! 🙂👍
Great pics again Ian. The last two were really awesome and it was cool to see how much it means to you around the 4.30 mark. Keep up the great work dude 🤘
Thanks buddy 👍
That was heartfelt gratitude Ian I could see you were very moved and it came across very genuine. Tricky first shot too. Nice shot under the bridge. The colours in the Elgol image were magnificent.
Lovely video, enjoyed what you were doing. Also knowing when to move on is good to listen to.
Thanks for watching! 👍
I’ve always loved the fact that you photograph your local area and you show us that landscape photography exists on our doorstep. However, I loved your enthusiasm in this vid of taking photos in an unfamiliar environment. Perhaps the start of a travel vlog series? Keep up the great work! You’re a great photographer and educator but also an entertaining RUclipsr!
Super video as always. I’m just getting into photography and have learnt a TONNE from you videos and ebook. Was in Pembrokeshire last week for the first time and was great meandering round your turf with the camera. What a beautiful part of the world. THANK YOU! ❤
That's awesome, I hope you got some nice photos and thanks again for the donation, it really helps 🙂👍
I am really jealous not only the Isle of Skye but also Elgol with a good view and usable light. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing your stories and photography adventures with us ! I look forward to seeing your next video, cheers
Thanks for watching! 👍
Great vid and stunning shots Ian, also love that you put up your camera settings up nice to see what other fellow photographers shoot at . Scotland is a must on my list, bit of a trek from Cornwall mind 😀
Thanks buddy, yes that would be a long journey, but well worth it 👍
So cool to see you and Henry shooting again! Just watched his video haha. But Scotland is just so beautiful, and your images were incredible as usual. I'm moving to Edinburgh later this year and can't wait to get out and hike and shoot those landscapes... your work is really inspiring
Thank you so much, 🙂
I'd like to take this opportunity to express my thankfulness at the hard work composing these excellent videos. I love your style of gratitude in your photography and it really comes forth in your videos. I've always wanted to visit the Isle of Skye. A trip like that would be a dream come true for me. Thanks for taking me along. Stunning captures! I shared this with my friends on Facebook.
Thank you for this lovely comment and your generosity 🙏🙂
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks buddy
I'm a sad puppy, been waiting patiently for your video of the trip after watching Henry's one a little while back. Another enjoyable watch, thanks!
We should be thanking you Ian. Great videos and great photography. Inspiring as always.
Another nice video. You should have Henry go further up the creek to open the valve and make the flows stronger. 😂😂😂
Next time! haha 🤣
Thank you Ian for taking us along on your adventures! Amazing captures. So beautiful! 📷
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Your work speaks for itself, Ian - great stuff! Accompanied by your respectful awe of the environment makes your videos a joy to watch and opportunity to learn, Thanks.

Thoroughly enjoyed your video, Ian, along with Henry, whom I also watch. Love the waterfall shot you took, in such a dangerous situation too! Thanks for taking us along on your journey. You’re making me totally envious!🇦🇺

My pleasure!
Enjoyed the video as usual Ian.
I see you managed to get some footage of Callum the Stag.
We were at Elgol a couple of years ago and the sunset was amazing and managed to get some really nice image's.
Nice to see you back out with Henry.
You captured some really nice image's as usual.
Look forward to the next one.
Top work Ian, I love Scotland.
You and me both! 👍
Great video, stunning photos from Skye! I appreciate that you show your camera settings. It really helps my learning process.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked them.
I rather enjoy all your videos. I look forward to viewing each time you release a new one. I bet these videos make many people sit back and relax lost in your world that so many of us don’t experience. Thx Ian
Thanks so much 🙂
A great video Ian. I always enjoy your shared passion for landscape photography; it's so infectious. I learn so much from you when you share your thought process as you compose a shot. The level at which someone or something deserves to be valued or rated is it's, "Worth." Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Good to see Henry, your local guide. Thanks so much Ian.🙏
Thank you so much, its comments like this that keep me going 🙂👍
I got rain at Elgol and the rising tide cut us off, so we had to go up and over the little hill to get back to the car park. Nice shots.
Oh wow! I hope you got back without getting too wet
Keep up the great work Ian.
Thanks 👍
Lovely video Ian, thank you. Btw, I'm visiting Scotland in September, so Henry's location guide will come in handy.
Hope you enjoy it!👍
Looks like you live very near to where I used to live in Pembrokeshire until 2012 Ian ☺. I used to live in Neyland
brilliant 😃
Another great video Ian absolutely fantastic
Thanks so much
Ian, thanks for another wonderful video. Always informative and often inspiring - keep up the good work.
Thanks so much 👍

Thank you so much 🙏
Stunning images.
Thanks
Another nice vid, Ian. I'm planning a 2-3 week photography trip to Scotland in October, and am eagerly taking notes on potential locations featured in vids by you and others. Henry's e-book is also a valuable resource. Cheers
Thanks so much 👍
Excellente vidéo comme d'habitude , les paysages sont incroyables, merci.
Thanks so much 👍
enjoyed this great shots cant wait for the next adventure
Thanks so much 👍
Which image do I prefer? All of them! They're all great. A pity Essex is so far from Scotland. Cheers. Ken
I love Scotland, if you dont go often its the best place in the UK i would say.. So far that is
An enjoyable episode. Your gratitude and enthusiasm add dimension.
Thanks so much 👍
Belter Ian stunning last couple of images ❤
Thanks so much 👍
Top content Ian, beautiful shots as always. Stunning location.😍
Thanks so much 👍
The further north the wilder it gets... I've only been as far north as Torridon (magical) as I tend to go out to the islands more, collectively the Hebrides are a bit special, but I'd like to get up around Assynt. Enjoy the journey Ian.
yes, I can't wait to get to Assynt myself, it looks amazing 👍
Nice video, nice stories and nice shots Ian. Looking forward seeing you’re next videos. Greetings from the Netherlands😊
Stunning images Ian! It’s always really inspiring to see other photographers work from this area! You must give me a shout if you head back up here btw! S
Hey Sam, hope you're keeping well. It sure is an mazing area, next time I'm up, I will give you a shout, it would be nice to meet up. 🙂👍
Ian, love your work really inspiring. Off to Cornwall today on a photography mission inspired by your videos. Thank you
Nice shots, just come across your channel, enjoyed, just subbed from a fellow west Wales outdoor guy 👍🏻👌🏻
Thanks so much, 👍
Great video as always mate, just a point about camera systems and I know you are well invested in fuji but in terms of size at this point you may as well have nikon z7 and 15-30 f4
I shot with Nikon for a long time they make great cameras 📸
Cool video keep up the great content
Ian, as a complete amateur enthusiast do you have a video/blog on the use of filters and effect on f-stops, softening of water etc?
Yes I do, please check out my archives for the long exposure video I did a few weeks back, its got lots of tips for using Nd's
Nice video Ian. I have seen several reviewers say that diffraction kicks in above f8 in the fuji 40mp sensor. I noticed you shot a bit at f11 in this video. Have you noticed any loss of sharpness at f11? I have been shooting my 16-55 mostly between 5.6 and 8 for landscape.
Thanks, I think f11 seems to be the limit for me.
Ian, in the last few videos you've used a 3 stop filter I think - is there a reason you went with a constant 3 stop instead of a variable one?
Typically variable nd's don't offer the same optical quality as regular nd's like the 3 6 and 10 stop filters.
Loving your channel has helped me a lot 👍 I was wondering what filter brand you are using?
At the moment I'm using the nisi filters but I use Kase as well, both are great
Do you always shoot at your system's base ISO? Seems like it from your videos.
I generally boost my iso if I need to increase my shutter speed, say I'm handholding or things in the scene are moving around too much.
Order 3444 has been delivered to my inbox.
Cant be a real UK landscape photographer unless you have a van, and sleep in it... 🙂🙂🙂
