Adrian Beltre is one of my favorite players of all time who didn't play for my favorite team. He's hilarious, there are entire videos out there of the silly shenanigans he does on the field.
The reason is was so funny that David Ortiz tried to bunt is because he's big, slow and powerful. Players that regularly bunt are small and quick. It was definitely unexpected and the guys on the other team were making fun of him. Power hitters don't usually bunt because they're likely to hit the ball a long way if they get a good pitch to swing at. A lot of players are from the Dominican Republic, so they share that in common, which creates great comradere. You'll notice Adrian Beltre involved in a lot of the joking around. He's played for almost every team in baseball, and has really good relationships with lots of players. He's known as a jokster. At 13:30, the reason you recognize the batter is because he was the pitcher who had his shirt pulled, when the batter ran past him, earlier in this same video. He's been in the league FOREVER, played for many different teams, and is old and slow lol. Pitchers aren't known for being good hitters. In major league baseball, there are two leagues, the American League and the National League. Pitchers who play in the American League don't have to hit. Instead, the team his a designated hitter, who only hits, and doesn't play any position in the field. Only pitchers on National League teams have to also hit.
Bartolo Colon is so funny because hes a big fat old guy and still sticks around. hes 47 currently and signed with a mexican baseball team in 2020. his nickname with the mets was Big Sexy. he wasnt ever really good, just beloved because hes so unique to the sport. when he got traded and went to Atlanta and played the Mets, the fans of the Mets who were his former team a lot of them made signs that said "we miss you Big Sexy" and they also clapped when he made a good pitch or hit the ball being a big fat pitcher, regardless of what team he was on. Baseball is a fun sport.
6:50 - most players have just one stance. What makes the moment funnier is that the batter was the opposing pitcher, and pitchers are notorious for being completely unable to hit - especially American League pitchers because most of their games use the designated hitter (American League pitchers only bat in interleague / World Series games when played in a National League stadium, so AL starting pitchers probably get fewer than 20 at-bats in an entire 162-game season).
The thing to remember about baseball compared to every other sport is that a baseball season is 162 games long. The season gets very long in July-August so they joke around to pass the time.
Bartolo Colon is a pitcher and because he's a little... stocky, he's a slow runner and not the best hitter. If you haven't seen it yet you should watch his first career home run video, he was on the Mets and the players left the dugout for the locker room to mess with him. So he came back to an empty dugout. The crowd went WILD. Pitchers often aren't great hitters because they don't have to be, so when someone hits a HR like Bartolo it's special. The crowd and announcers loved it, it was great.
I despise the LA Dodgers of baseball. Baseball is my favorite sport and my favorite team, the Giants. and the Dodgers have the second biggest rivalry in all of baseball
The big chubby guy is Colon. He is in a lot of these because he's a pitcher and when he does anything other than pitching, it is hilarious because of his body type and attitude. I loved Colon on the Mets and enjoyed all his antics.
@@jackhalley5543 I do really dislike the Astros for what they did but not even close to how much I hate the Yankees and Dodgers. On top of that I'm kinda glad that the Astros and Red Sox cheated the way they did because it kept the Dodgers and Yankees from winning titles

The last two guys were Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre (sp?). I am not a Texas for, AT ALL, but there are entire videos about the two of them. They are a hilarious duo.
The season is 160 games, April to September. Then if the team makes the playoffs tack on more games. Most teams have their own announcer, play-by-play guys who travel to call all of the games so they need a little fun, too.
5:31 this clip is not-so-serious because Trevor Bauer pitches in the American League and pitchers don’t hit in the American League so he doesn’t really have a stance so he’s just goofin around
If you like the clips where he had the microphone, there are a lot of american sports that do "mic'd up" games now where they pick a player or two and give them mics for the whole game. They recently put out the superbowl one for 2020.
The guy you talk about at 13:40 is Bartolo Colon, also known as "Big Sexy." He was known as the Clown Prince of Baseball and was one of the most fun players to watch I've ever seen, and I've been a baseball fan for 50 years. Look up, if you have the inclination, Bartolo Colon Behind the back, and Bartolo Colon Home Run. Both are lots of fun to watch.
The guy with the different batting stances: he was an American League pitcher getting a very rare opportunity to bat, because in the AL, there is a designated hitter who basically bats for the pitcher. In the NL, pitchers always bat for themselves. When AL and NL teams meet, they use the rules of whichever park they are in. So since Pittsburgh is an NL park, that meant that the pitcher was going to bat for himself. That guy was being a little goofy, because he’s so inexperienced at hitting he wasn’t really going to try that hard. He was imitating other well known batting stances of his friends. Typically, each batter only uses one batting stance. So Bauer was really just goofing around with that display.
Compared to most other major sports, baseball is very chill. There's no time limit to the games and there's 162 of them. So, yeah, plenty of time to have a bit of fun with stuff like this. Besides, when your team is batting and you're in the dugout, there's not a whole lot to do. In other sports, teams will use that kind of time to strategize and such, but in baseball, it's very much a reactionary sport. Most of the 'strategy' involves the pitcher, catcher, and manager, the other players on the field are there to react to hits for the most part...so... not much in the way of strategy involves them except for very specific scenarios, which usually just involves telling them to do X or Y. (Shift right for this batter, move in closer for that batter, watch out for this runner to steal bases, etc.)
Another great video man. You probably haven't noticed it but, Bartolo Colon has come up time and time again in your videos and you've enjoyed him every time. He is really an interesting dude and probably worthy of a reaction. Of course my usual plug for a Dennis Rodman reaction (basketball). Promise you'll love him. Also, I'll get on board with Mike Huff and the others calling for a David Freese, game 6 video. It's a pretty amazing story. With all the sports you've shown interest in, there is an endless amount of content to check out. You've barely scratched the surface.
MLB - chicago cubs (I won't even capitalize their name) NFL - Patriots NBA - Knicks NHL - Redwings Reasons - I'm a Cardinals, Dolphins, Bulls, and Blues fan.
Players have only one stance and might make minor tweaks, but they only use one stance at a time. The batter switched up his stance because he was an American League pitcher, where pitchers don’t hit, but he was in a National League park, where pitchers do hit. So because he knew he was probably going to get out anyways, he just decided to have fun.
To respond to your talk around the 6:55 area. Essentially your batting "stance" is just a comfort thing to the play. Almost a rhythm you can create to help time a pitch coming in. Essentially the guy was just mimicing batting stances from other players just for the fun/hell of it
The clip starting at 12:40 is of Bartolo Colón, who is 46 years old, hasn't officially retired, and is about 180cm, 125-130kgs or 6’, 280lbs. He's fat, slow, not very athletic, but is loved for those exact reasons. He's so out of place that it's funny. The highlights are so great because it was a miracle that he hit a home run, let alone at 43 years old, as he sucks at hitting. He can hardly run, but everyone loves him
What people outside of the US call the Mexican wave was actually originally popularized in baseball with the Oakland A’s, it just spread to Mexico and got noticed by the rest of the world during the World Cup there. We just call it the wave.
So many of these player have played for the same team then got traded. Or they played high school or college ball together. So there are a lot of great friendships that survive being on opposing teams
The different stances refers to how he starts his at bat. Most of the time you do the same thing before you get the pitch thrown because people like repetition, but in that case he didn’t three different set ups in one at batt
The player with different stances is a pitcher who plays in the American League. Pitchers in that league don't hit unless they are playing the National League teams in their stadium. Pitchers are usually considered an easy out so he was just playing around even though he's not a too bad hitter...
Please watch Adrian Beltre highlights. He is retired now. But he was the guy in the first clip. He was the 3rd baseman, and number 29 from the Texas Rangers. He had over 3,000 career hits and over 450 home runs. He is famous for hitting home runs while having his back knee on the ground. He also doesn’t like people touching his head as a joke.

@@nicholaspantoja8027 I have one question though... Why is Spy Gate 2 (Which I think was bogus) seem like it was bigger than the Astros scandel? Astros thing was so much bigger. Also I don't hate the Astros because I believe everyone does that.
@@sidekickarmadillo the Patriots scandal(s) were nowhere near as big as the Astros current scandal. The Astros scandal has gotten more negative press and attention that Spygate and Deflategate combined.
@@sidekickarmadillo The Patriots have been caught cheating on many occasions. Are you new to the sport? Also the Astro's scandal is much bigger. And I hate them not only because they cheated, but they showed no remorse for their actions and the players act like dicks.
Adrian Beltre is one of my favorite players of all time who didn't play for my favorite team. He's hilarious, there are entire videos out there of the silly shenanigans he does on the field.
Day 28 of asking Luka to react to "MLB productions presents: Game 162"
REACT TO BLUE JAYS RANGERS 7TH INNING THE ONE POSTED BY MLB!!!!!
X yes yes yes
Teams I hate:
MLB: Houston Trashtros of course
NHL: Detroit Red Wings (Rival to my Blackhawks)
NFL: Green Bay Packers (Rival to my Bears)
Kebobs Cody parkey
As a Wingnut, Blackhawks Down.
Coming from a longtime Dodger Fan it makes me happy knowing everybody else also hates the astros.
God Bless
The thing to remember about baseball compared to every other sport is that a baseball season is 162 games long. The season gets very long in July-August so they joke around to pass the time.
Houston Astros shouldn't even be a team this year.
Second biggest? Which is it bigger than? Red Sox-Yankees or Cubs-Cardinals?
Wii Sports *3rd
DEFINITELY watch the other parts of this style of video, and MLB or NBA Bloopers as well.
I absolutely despise the New York Yankees the most in all sports
The big chubby guy is Colon. He is in a lot of these because he's a pitcher and when he does anything other than pitching, it is hilarious because of his body type and attitude. I loved Colon on the Mets and enjoyed all his antics.
Sports Teams I hate the most:
LA Dodgers
NY Yankees
Seattle Seahawks
Dallas Cowboys
LA Lakers
NY Knicks (only the fans really)
SanFranFan30 Idk who you root for but i’m a Kings fan so we can agree on the Lakers🤝 also go Giants and Niners
SanFranFan30 you can't not say the Astros bro
@@AndrewL209 yeah I'm a Warriors fan born and bred. Go Giants Go Niners!
@@jackhalley5543 I do really dislike the Astros for what they did but not even close to how much I hate the Yankees and Dodgers. On top of that I'm kinda glad that the Astros and Red Sox cheated the way they did because it kept the Dodgers and Yankees from winning titles
SanFranFan30 ok not gonna lie I hate the Warriors too just after the Lakers, but i think its mostly just jealousy on my part. ive been alive 17 years and havent seen my Kings in the playoffs once while you guys 2 hours away have dominated the last 5 years. Respect, but jealous hatred. Glad we can agree on hating LA teams tho lol
Shenanigans go hand in hand with baseball and yes, we are competitive with everything!
Man, I love seeing how excited you get watching baseball! I'd absolutely love to take you to a baseball game so I could answer all your questions and buy you some beer!
So Bauer was really just goofing around with that display.
another general rule of thumb is that pitchers - if they do hit - suck and are usually an automatic out, if they get a hit it’s really exciting
The legend that is "Greg Gibson the home plate umpire..."
You've barely scratched the surface.
lol, I just got to the point where you remembered him. Classic! Carry on...
MLB - chicago cubs (I won't even capitalize their name)
NFL - Patriots
NBA - Knicks
NHL - Redwings
Reasons - I'm a Cardinals, Dolphins, Bulls, and Blues fan.
You should watch MLB Mic'd Up moments after part 2 of not so serious you'd love it
Thats what I like about baseball
its serious and silly
its complicated and simple
its precise and random
I'm pretty sure the literal standoff lasted some where around like 15 to 20 minutes both men standing at attention. It was awesome. Lol
Essentially the guy was just mimicing batting stances from other players just for the fun/hell of it
Yes, for sure do parts 2, 3 and 4!!!!!
These clips are evidence as to why, of all the athletes in pro sports, baseball players would be the most fun to hang out with.
That player who was trying to make the cop laugh (32) is my uncle! Great guy
So many of these player have played for the same team then got traded. Or they played high school or college ball together. So there are a lot of great friendships that survive being on opposing teams
Major rivalries in baseball would b the Dodgers and the Yankees
Cardinals and cubs those r the big ones i remember
Bartolo hit a HR a couple of years ago. It was hilarious!
Baseball players love to have fun. And they have a ton of time on their hands when they are not on the field.
The team I “don’t like” most is Björklöven Swedish hockey!
