In reality, Jughead or Betty deliberately injured his head with the stone then he lay down on the floor, and made it look like Betty was guilty. Veronica and Archie don't know about anything.. Dude they literally retrieved Jug's dead body at the end of episode 14 which came out yesterday. His skin is festered and everything and I just can't get over the fact that Juggie is actually *dead* (well he might not be but then Riverdale is based on reality so that's too far fetched)
They didn’t know they were gonna get another season till a few weeks ago so he is dead and yes there can be another season like there could be a season without Jason, Clifford, Hal, Grundy

I mean, Jughead professor told him they wanted a story tailored on his personal experience and he could not write about the black hood, so he is writing a story based on his experience at the Stonewall Prep mixing it with Betty's past events at the Farm.... However, I can't explain the "mistery" of Charles's connection with Chick and what Mrs Blossom's role is in this series...
A large amount of people watch Riverdale for Bughead and Cole Sprouse. So, I don't think they will kill such an important character. Besides, Betty seems pretty calm. She would not have been this calm if she killed him, because she genuinely loves Jug.
