I love the moment when Professor McGonagall gives harry his first good broom before his first quidditch match. Also when Ron's mother sends him a sweater for Christmas. Mrs Weasley is so sweet to Harry in these movies.
@@gerawallstar3487 No she gave it to him because she saw his skills on the broom and thought he'd be a great seeker. The reward for beating the troll was a net 5 points
This fuckin movie and book changed every 10 year olds world in 2000. For the next 10 years we would read the books and go to the movies. Every Christmas was an insane visit to the magical world. We grew up in this world, and the escalation of these stories goes up so fast. I can’t wait to watch this. I want a dad like Devon stationed at every school in America 😂😂😂
I was already a 40 year old man when this came out but if I would have been 10 or 11 you bet I would have been secretly hoping it was real and a letter would show up for me.
In case you wonder, the Weasleys are a rather large family.... 7 children... Ron is #6 out of 7... The kids are Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny. That's why the sorting hat said, "Ah, another Weasley". Something else to keep in mind, is that Harry just turned 11 years old when Hagrid came to collect him for school.. Glad you both are taking this journey, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing.
If you pay attention when Harry feels pain on his forehead for the first time in school, it's when Quirrel was turning his back at him so Voldemort was facing Harry, and if you look carefully, Snape shoots a look at Quirrel when Harry reacts in pain.
EVERYONE needs to watch this entire series. J.K. Rawlings wrote a masterpiece. I encouraged my children to read the books before watching the movies. We were one of the hundreds of thousands of people who pre-ordered each time one came out & waited in line at the book store. Reading them as a family was magical. I swear on my life, my 20 year old daughter fell asleep on the couch last night. Guess what was on when I went out there.... yep, Harry Potter. It's the most rewatched series in our home & now my kids are 24 & 20. My husband never misses watching it with them over & over. They make fun of me when I still mix up facts from the books. Some of it I do on purpose 😉 Steph & Devin well done picking this series 👏 you're going to love it.
I'll never forget how many times I watched this movie as a kid. Running around the house with a broom between my legs. I love these movies more than I'd care to admit lol. Can't wait to see you two going through the series
Everyone always laughs at Hermione's priorities, yet I completely agree. She was raised in a normal household, with normal, boring parents, and suddenly all the magic and wonder that filled British TV became reality. She studies hard because magic is, well, magical, and she loves every second of it. To her, dying would be easier than being expelled, because dying means that your life is over, but being expelled means your life is over and you have to live through it. No (legal) magic, no wonder, back to an ordinary life, only this time she knows there is all this magic around her, so that would be worse than a death sentence.
Yeah like knowing ab the matrix but not ever being able to do anything ab it. Honestly I’d rather have that, than be alive & know ab hogwarts & magic but not legally be allowed to use it or ever go to hogwarts again & as you explained above for hermione that would be even worse than somebody like me
@@eduardoclari_ I mean the Dursleys are mostly scum still, but yeah it's either they get obliviated or they turn hateful of what they can't have. Hermione is too good to disobey the Ministry of Magic, too, so she wouldn't illegally use magic afterwards, so she's stuck in the worst world imaginable.
@@eduardoclari_ And not only knowing about that world, but also the reaction of the family. Petunia mentionned how their parents were proud, there's a possibility that Lilly became the golden child due to that. Not saying there were abuse, we don't know that, but seeing how parents can act toward the kids who's not the favourite, it's kinda understandable she resents her sister, parents and magic world (not her treatment of Harry of course). Plus even if she wasn't happy with Lily, she never totally hated her and the magic is what killed her sister, so it's something she has to live with.
the funny thing is. In most movies if you heard their was a witch in the family. The family would think they were a demon or a devil sometimes. Especially the towns folks and drive them out. XD So Petunia way of thinking with the jealous is probably like that.

Still and will always be my favorite Harry Potter movie. Just has such a delightful and pleasant tone. As great as the films get, this one is the most endearing compared to the darker and more adult themes that come with the story progression.
Hi guys, glad you’re doing this franchise! Two things you questioned or wondered about in the movie: 1. Terrible but great (how Mr. Olivander, the wand maker described the actions/“achievements” of Voldemort) - “great” as in grandeur, the things he was able to do were great/large in scale and powerful. 2. Is Harry rich? Well, he’s definitely comfortable (considering he doesn’t need to pay rent or buy his own food). His money is basically “royalties” deposited to his family account from all the magical inventions his ancestors came up with in the past. Plus nobody was touching the money for 10 years once his parents died and he was left in the muggle world. He’ll still have to work in the future. Hope this clears things up. Cheers!
The bridge of Harry's glasses were wrapped in tape probably from breaking and the Dursely's didn't want to spend money on him (if you notice in the beginning, Harry's clothes are all way too big for him - hand me down's from Dudley). Ever since Covid - that scene with Harry's wand going up the troll's nose - gives it a new meaning...I cringe in sympathetic discomfort when the wand goes up his nose lol. McGonagall is a big fan of Quidditch, she was also on the team as can be viewed in the trophy case - above and to the right of James as Seeker's name - there is another shield with M McGonagall. So not only is she the head of her house and she conscripted Harry in his first year - she also gifted him the best broom lol. Also you asked why Draco wasn't playing Quidditch - First years almost never get picked for the House Teams - though he does join the team as seeker in Chamber of Secrets and his father gets the entire team new Nimbus 2001 brooms. The bludger is the ball that zooms around. Beaters have the bats and knock the bludgers away from their team mates and trying to interfere with the opposing team's players by knocking the bludgers to them.
The first 2 are geared for kids. But all bets are off after that. They get darker and darker. And not meant for just kids anymore. You’re gonna love this series. So buckle up for this ride!
If you think about it the first ones have darker undertones then first glance too. Example Harry was set up to befriend the Weasleys. There an all magic family so why are they on the none magic side at all? Why is mom yelling about muggles and platform 9 and 3/4 in a station full of non-magicals? And lastly Ron said all other places where full yet its a magic train and Harry's year is the smallest in a century thanks to the wars. So plenty of room on the train. Plus while they don't say it in the movie in the book the twins tell there mom and sister and brother they just met Harry Potter on the train after helping him with his trunk.

Also the scene where Harry is sitting on the table looking into the fireplace thinking about the mirror and not wanting to do anything was also a deleted scene that they had in the extended edition If you can make sure you watch the extended edition for the sequel as well

So many new HP reactors in the last few days! I couldn't be happier. The first 2 are a little childish but everything changes from the 3rd one! Welcome to my favourite series! 🎉
This is a great movie series. There's 11 filmed and another 2 or 3 yet to be filmed. The books have twice the story because how do you film magic? Excited to watch them all with you
There's a load of scenes I haven't seen here! They must be part of the original release or from the American version? The scene where Petunia is cracking the eggs and finding the letters is hilarious and I haven't seen that before from my 50+ rewatches 🤣🤣🤣
this is my comfort movies, i would watch them in bed when i was younger, even tho one of them was kind of rreally scary i still loved them and still do, everytime the whole series has a harry potter week on TV here in sweden , i always have to watch them haha
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is the world of Harry Potter. The best thing about the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone is that the chambers following the third-floor corridor containing Fluffy each play to the strengths of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The Devil's Snare chamber caters to Hermione's overall intelligence, not just with spells. The room with the winged keys caters to Harry's skill with quidditch. And the chess room caters to Ron's knowledge and understanding of how to play chess. You've earned yourselves a new subscriber this day.
Never in my life have I heard somebody say after watching Harry Potter that they weren’t a fan. Fair enough I guess it is a little out there. Grew up watching them as a kid & still love them in my early 20’s now. I guess I am curious why don’t you like them anymore?
@@scotthill1600 to be fair, I will always enjoy the first two movies and the goblet of fire. But the rest of them are boring and I just never cared much for the lore or anything. I'm more of a lotr fan
Harry's magical ancestor (on his dad's side) is the inventor of hair gel for wizards that's why his parents had money, and Harry's dad is said to be without a job because his family never had to work for their money. Also elf chefs prepare the food for the feasts in a kitchen beneath the mess hall and teleport it upwards making it appear to the kids and the audience that the food is conjured out of thin air.
There aren't 2 worlds, only one. The wizards have over the centuries hidden parts from muggles. They put up wards that cause muggles to not want to enter certain wizardly establishments, alleys, and roads. Hogwarts is so warded that a muggle would just see an island within a lake that is empty or maybe has a crumbling building that makes them shiver and want to leave the area.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve watched the Harry Potter series done by presenters and you are the BEST!!! First and foremost your editing was minimal. The movies get deeper and more complex as they go on, so each movie gives info that helps to understand the next and the next and so forth. Some presenters have it edited as low as 37 minutes, a totally useless waste as for anyone who was watching for the first time they would be hopelessly lost as they go on. You have made this a really enjoyable viewing experience…..Thank you!
When Harry lets the golden snitch fly for the first time you can see his eyes focused on the ball and Oliver Wood is looking around because he can't see it.👍🏼
Great reaction, welcome to this world, a world many of us wish really existed! This was just the introduction, your first taste of it as seen by Harry. Yes, what others told you is true: as the kids grow older the story becomes much more serious and at some point really dark and very, very honest, quite brutally honest about the most important things in life. One thing that the movies don't really make clear but you might want to remember going on, is that magic isn't simply just using a wand and uttering a spell. The intentions, the character and the focus matters a lot. This might help you understand some events in the future. Also, even though this is magic, it has some very strict rules. It's not like anything is possible, that wouldn't yield a good story. Think of it as a kind of parallel physics with its own laws.
I have seen many people doing a first watch of this and you are the first who seemed to understand the reason Dumbledore was taking the lights as he walked towards the house in the beginning - most people seem to think he is "stealing the lights" and they try to figure out why he would do that they never think of him just making it dark, not stealing the lights.... I could eat fried chicken every day ... especially drumsticks. Though I wouldn't mind also having pizza and sushi on the menu. The large ball is worth points when you get it through the hoop, but the game doesn't end until the tiny ball is caught - it's worth a lot of points and ends the game, so as long as the other team isn't too far ahead, catching the snitch wins the game, but if the other team is too far ahead, it could be bad to catch it.
Hell yeah, down the rabbit hole we go. Apart from Star Wars, this is the franchise I really grew up with and it's just amazing. Can't wait for the third movie, that one is probably my favorite. Enjoy the journey! :)
I’ve watched these movies hundreds of time, have a tattoo that says “Mischief Managed” on my hip, read the books a few times each, & I never thought about this SPOILER Snape had to have been the one to bring Harry to Dumbledore!
Definitely one of my favorite movies, I hope you watch all the films, each film gets better, it's so good to see the evolution and the characters getting older and different.
When Olivander says Voldemort did great things, he doesn’t mean “good” like we Americans usually think of it, he means great as in like powerful or impressive.
Professor McGonagall is head of Gryffindor house so she prioritized her house more. That's why she didn't punish Harry. Wood is so handsome, he is like my first crush LOL Also there is the 4th test bfr the mirror room. Every professors supposed to make the test and only Snape's test didn't make it to movie, the potion riddle. After the chess room, Harry and Hermoine will find a room with some potion and only one potion will get them to the last room. Hermoine got the trick and gave it to Harry. Oh yeah abt Golden Snitch tho. It doesn't mean the team who catch that always win. Snitch is worth 150 points, so eventho you catch it but the score 170 (opponent) vs 10 (your team) then the game is over and you lose. Catching snitch means the game is over and you got 150 points.
A "bezoar" stone or nut, Is a tightly packed ball of partially or undigested material in the stomach. Usually in ruminant animals such as sheep, goats, camels, deer and cows, although they can form in humans and other animals with poor digestion. In the fantasy realm, it counteracts almost any poison. Firenze (half horse/half man) is a Centaur.
The movie is wrong about Quidditch rules. Catching the golden snitch “usually” wins the game, but not guaranteed. It earns the team 150 points. If the other team is up by more than 150 points they would win even though they didn’t catch the snitch.
1:01:05 if you’re talking about Alan Rickman, he was in Die Hard. He played the villain and he was in a movie called Galaxy quest. I know he’s been in other things, but those are the only two that I can think of off the top of my head.
You don't find out in the books or the movie this it's afterwards on Wizarding World AKA Pottermore but on there Harry's Father James Potter I got his wealth from his father who got it from his father and so forth one of their ancestors made Sleek easy hair potion, and before that another ancestor who started their riches came up with Skilgrow which helps grow back bones
I've watched all the movies so many times and I've never seen this version. It's like you had some extended cut version cause there were extra scenes (or extended from final scenes) that I haven't seen before, or was this the version that Americans got (cause ours is Philosophers Stone).
Severus Snape is by FAR the best character in the Harry Potter series. He's complex, powerful, flawed, courageous, selfless, and has an amazing redemption arc (events from before the first movie). It's not just me who thinks so. A newspaper in the UK did a poll asking which character is the best? Snape won over 20% of the 70,000 votes, beating everyone including Harry Potter.
I'm always excited to see new people join the journey. I think you'll enjoy the later films for sure. Number 2 in my personal favorite, but 5-8 will truly take you on an emotional roller coaster. SN: I need to know where bruh got that shirt cuz I need one, then I need him to drop his workout regiment so I can fill out my shirt the same way as him.
As I’m sure many will also say, the movies get more serious and more dark as the kids grow up and the backstory is slowly revealed.

They are so well directed and the books are so well written, she really did her research. And it’s awesome to see the kids grow up and the movies get darker and more mature.
I guess we shall see!!
@@Fluer-de-Lis😂 never fails
23:54 when you see them all looking around, those are genuine reactions, because up until that point, they did not see what the Great Hall looked like. Also, the candles that you see are real candles they were strung up by fishing wire, before they switch to CGI.
Wow! Very cool!
A beautiful story. Eight awesome movies.
Can’t wait for more!!
@@snackandreact I can see it in both of your eyes that it´s to your liking. ;)
So many new HP reactors in the last few days! I couldn't be happier. The first 2 are a little childish but everything changes from the 3rd one! Welcome to my favourite series! 🎉
I’ve watched so many already and I’m still not sick of it lol 😊
same! I love seeing other people slowly fall in love with this amazing universe.
31:38 so, the thing that Neville forgot, were his black robes, he is supposed to wear every day.
My fave franchise of all time❤❤❤ i grew up with it since my childhood and will still love it until my death😂😂😂
Unfortunately they don't really talk about this in the movie but in the books you're able to do wandless Magic, Dumbledore is one of them who can
Im happy you enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what you think as the story unravels and become quite darker
Can't wait!

@@snackandreact Thank you very much
Didn't expect this. I'm not a fan of harry Potter, but this movie on VHS was a banger in my childhood
To be honest, I never thought I would be watching Harry Potter!
We appreciate it!! 🥰
Such an incredible series of films
Fun fact: this is the first 2 movies of the same director Chris Columbus from home alone and musician from John Williams.
When Harry lets the golden snitch fly for the first time you can see his eyes focused on the ball and Oliver Wood is looking around because he can't see it.👍🏼
One of the better Harry Potter reactions I have seen in a while, and I've seen a lot of them. Subscribed!
Appreciate that!!
Prof. Snape played by Alan Rickman. he played the role of Hans Gruber in Die Hardc
This is Harry's Aunts family. His mothers sister. She was jealous that Harry's mom got chosen to go to Hogwarts and not her.
You’ll see that these movies are more about Harry than the wizarding stuff, although it’s a big part of the story, of course. Enjoy!!
You guys are in for one HELL of a ride if you do all the movies.
Looking forward to it!!
I've seen the movies several times and a few reactions but yours was the most fun. It just sucks that I have to wait for more.
Funny you mention the Leprechaun movies since Warwick Davis is Flitwick and Griphook.
Awesome review! I NEVER noticed Professor Mcgonnagal had a quidditch badge lol
Thanks for watching!
That's one guard dog you're not getting past. CERBERUS...... Giant 3 headed dog from Greek mythology guarding the gateway to the lower world HADES...
Hell yeah, down the rabbit hole we go.
Apart from Star Wars, this is the franchise I really grew up with and it's just amazing. Can't wait for the third movie, that one is probably my favorite.
Enjoy the journey! :)
And the journey begins 🥰
Can’t wait!!
I’ve watched these movies hundreds of time, have a tattoo that says “Mischief Managed” on my hip, read the books a few times each, & I never thought about this
SPOILER
Snape had to have been the one to bring Harry to Dumbledore!
Absolutely loved the reaction! Can’t wait for both of you to react to the other Harry Potter movies! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!
Definitely one of my favorite movies, I hope you watch all the films, each film gets better, it's so good to see the evolution and the characters getting older and different.
Great reaction and I'm not a big Harry Potter fan but I always enjoyed the first one, really good world building.
I knew Dudley was gonna piss D off as soon as he came on screen. Lmao.
🤣🤣🤣
Staying with his estranged family is the best and safest place for Harry. I can’t say why but you’ll find out in later movies
Looking forward to finding out!
I do think the kid that played Dudley gets nearly enough credit
He’s Dr Who/Patrick Troughton’s grandson so he comes from an acting family.
When Olivander says Voldemort did great things, he doesn’t mean “good” like we Americans usually think of it, he means great as in like powerful or impressive.
Looking forward to watching this with you guys! hope you keep going with the series!
Great reaction as Always !
The Editing is on point too.
Appreciate it!!
5:18 "Dis punk fkn kid BOI".... Had me rolling 😂😂😂😂 can't wait for dis HP Journey. Much Love 4rm Hawai'i 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
🤣🤣🤣
Ironically you mentioned the leprechaun movie. The man who plays that goblin is also the man who plays the Leprechaun.
4:45 I volunteer at a zoo and you wouldn’t believe how many times I have to tell people not to do that.
Professor McGonagall is head of Gryffindor house so she prioritized her house more. That's why she didn't punish Harry. Wood is so handsome, he is like my first crush LOL
Also there is the 4th test bfr the mirror room.
This must be an extended edition as there are parts I've never seen before!
Great Reaction! This is my favorite Franchise, Books/Movies mean a lot to me, can't wait to see more great reaction from you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Girls who chew their hair can develop them. Bezoars in humans are most often seen in girls, age 10-19.
The movie is wrong about Quidditch rules. Catching the golden snitch “usually” wins the game, but not guaranteed. It earns the team 150 points. If the other team is up by more than 150 points they would win even though they didn’t catch the snitch.
the three headed dog is called a Cerberus and the half horse and half man is called a centaur.
I will be tuning in for every single Harry Potter reaction !!!!
Yay!!
once you guys get the full background of the dursleys from the book lore, and the other movies it all comes into perspective.
1:12:42 vomit is actually supposed to taste like cheese pizza but it just never get it to taste good. Ear wax is probably just bees wax
1:01:05 if you’re talking about Alan Rickman, he was in Die Hard. He played the villain and he was in a movie called Galaxy quest. I know he’s been in other things, but those are the only two that I can think of off the top of my head.
If you want to see him in a romantic role, try "Sense and Sensibility", or "Truly Madly Deeply"
THE ERAS TOUR CUP AAAAAA ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m sure you would love to know we have a cat named Karma! She is a one eyed black cat!
This is going to be such a fun adventure! Can't wait to find out what houses you're in!
to move the knight in wizards chess it requires a rider.
9:53 hagrid actually put a knot in the gun
I'm sooooo damn pumped to watch you both experience this series!!!!
Shit gets real serious and adult, btw. The story grows with them. Crazy to see how it begins and where it ends.
YASSS ANOTHER HARRY POTTER REACTION!!! BUZZING TO SEE YOUR REACTION TO THEM ALL
I think in muggle money, Harry is a millionaire, and I love that for him
Oh please do all of these movies! You won't regret it!
I think you were trying to remember that Alan Rickman was in Die Hard with Bruce Willis.
Thank you!!
The dog is a type of Mastiff
Why have i never seen some of these scenes before EVER!?
You don't find out in the books or the movie this it's afterwards on Wizarding World AKA Pottermore but on there Harry's Father James Potter I got his wealth from his father who got it from his father and so forth one of their ancestors made Sleek easy hair potion, and before that another ancestor who started their riches came up with Skilgrow which helps grow back bones
Yesss you don’t know how excited I am for this !!!!!!🎉🎉
I've watched all the movies so many times and I've never seen this version. It's like you had some extended cut version cause there were extra scenes (or extended from final scenes) that I haven't seen before, or was this the version that Americans got (cause ours is Philosophers Stone).
Maybe we have some powers!!
2:56 that bike was borrowed from Sirius black
Severus Snape is by FAR the best character in the Harry Potter series.
He's complex, powerful, flawed, courageous, selfless, and has an amazing redemption arc (events from before the first movie).
It's not just me who thinks so.
A newspaper in the UK did a poll asking which character is the best? Snape won over 20% of the 70,000 votes, beating everyone including Harry Potter.
Alan Rickman (RIP) was such a brilliant actor.
I agree but revealing the redemption arc is a bit of a spoiler. They’ll be expecting it now. Should of let that happen naturally
I forget US got the Sorcerers Stone and everywhere else got the Philosophers Stone. The differences shock me every time i see them.
Ohhhhh didn’t realize that!
He had it made!! And as far as the gym routine…he would tell you consistency!! 💪🏽
