idunno how to do it consistently, but sometimes when shooting shopkeeper with freeze ray in shop knocks items back, killing the shopkeeper, while also not considering it your fault, which is what happened back in volcana.
@@martinri_cz its almost certainly just certain items when shot by the freeze ray move fast enough to destroy ice (most throwable damage is all velocity based) Im not sure what the lightest damage dealing throwable is tho, maybe boomerang? ill try and test it on a caveman shopkeep or something. If its anything else then its a straight up engine bug like when Olmec would destroy blocked beside him.
This mod's cosmic ocean looks a lot more complete than the base game's. I feel like this mod has a lot more variety in the way the end game can play out. +altars are a life saver
I feel like a more realized Cosmic Ocean would get weirder the deeper you get into it and it would include bosses every ten or so levels... with some kind of twist on how those levels work in the main game.

Also, looping olmec? Looping tiamat projectiles? It would be way too chaotic. Just imagine an olmec sniper jumping into the loop, and snipes you.
That was incredible. Anubis in CO with looping death disc? Brutal. I liked how he was like I want your cape, then vlad inmediatly teleport to lava. For sure do quillback on the loop.

The ghost spawns to whoever is closest to the side of the map, the eggplant child was really close to the edge while you were in the middle, that's why the ghost killed it first rather than you ;(

you can totally Ankh skip its just not 100%. With a jetpack/hoverpack and a teleporter. bomb out the entire floor except for where the idol is. Teleport upwards after the lava settles and dont fall into the lava (goodluck) With frame perfect inputs you have a 60% chance to survive :) You can also get a subsurface door (i think) and its /probably/ possible for offscreen events to trigger the trap.

The exclussion of giant spiders and kali altars on the CO is deliberate. You're supposed to make it through with with what you managed to get during your descent in the caves.
It is obviously delibrate, that does not mean that it was a good choice for the game. IMO the idea of CO is to have you prove your "better" then the game. You can play consistently well enough to overcome Spelunky level after level. NOT, that you can obtain every possible rng item before a set cut off likely less then half way into the run in order to have any real chance of success. Plus in this example its not like the paste is free by any means, you also have Vlads and scepters abound, in return for a never ending continuous increase of risk for the entire run, whether you got there with those items or not.
I just wasted a hour to watch a guy telefrag himself in cosmic, but that is fine, I spend more time trying to get out of the dwellings than whatching this video, but... at least die to the jelly or an enemy tho, next time I believe in the 7-47 run

So fun fact, the reason its "cosmic ocean but its not an afterthought" is cause it uses normal level gen, as it hasnt been finished yet.

Damn, I didn't know you could whip crossbow arrows out of the walls. This just might make them more viable for me.
