This was an amazing deck build, and I agree that Kona really is the exception to the rule, being a card added to bolster an existing combo, and actually carrying its weight. Well done! Also, that play in the first game(?), cheating the opponent's Valgavoth into play... *chef's kiss*. Perfection.
There are not a lot of cheap creatures in the deck, so it only works with Kona and the vampires, and there are only 2 Konas in the deck. With how good Kona was in the league, maybe 3 is a better number, but it is legendary. It is probably not a good idea to put in a card that only works if you have 1 of 7 other cards in your deck. Springleaf drum is usually good with a bunch of cheap creatures or early token producers. Obviously it would still tap Kona sometimes, but I just don't think that is consistent enough to justify removing any of the other cards.
Cheating out Valgavoth? Everybody does that...
Cheating out your opponents Valgavoth? Now that's something!
"We definitely want Ulamog in the graveyard." proceeds to not select it.
i was screaming at this too hahaaha
Well it would have gone to his opponent anyway due to the flyer that makes cards a player discards playable by another player.
@@xn85d2 true... very true.
That's normal behaviour from the danklord 😂😂😂
I've been playing with this combo myself and it's hilarious. Nice video Chris
16:00 Chris complaining about mana while playing pain lands for no reason when he has free untapped land multiple turns in a row...
DARK LORDE, WE LIVE TO SERVE YOU INFINITE MANAS
I, for one, love his use of the Manas.

That's it... Leyline of the Void in every deck until the next Alchemy 'adjustment/ban' happens. :D
That first game was BONKERS. Best brew in a minute Chris great job!
"I'll just give this obvious reanimator deck my most powerful creature, what could go wrong?" - First opponent
Made my own Ulamog/GPG deck, and it's incredibly fun. Thanks for the ideas!
Dark lord always get exited when he can play with others big decks =)
Kona is spectacularly dangerous in an Ezio 5C psuedomniscience deck. With any of the various ways to make non assassin creatures into assassin type.
That first opponent has a loooooot of patience
Top tier deck build. What would you replace Assemble the Team and Phyrexian Scrapyard with to make it legal in modern?
Still a dope combo deck. I ran it without the new beastie to platinum 1. Love the new combo though. Chris you are a nut. Live your content.
Legendary Dark Gamer
This deck is exactly how I like to play magic
I can't believe you stole that man's Vulvagoth that he gave to you. How dare you, sir!?!
OUR deck.
She is best girl. You can convoke, crew, saddle, haste too
Great to see that shrine deck fall ☠️
Ive been playing kona in a white green convoke "big stompy" deck. Using kona for convoke to allow me to cheat out ghalta
"Is that all?"
*Wins*
Im glad the shrine deck got a taste. Unfortunately now they will play that into atraxa they play those two decks
Why not use Springleaf Drum?
