This was beautiful. 5 years ago. I hope over the past 5 years you have healed. Maybe found a new love, but most importantly, learned to love yourself.

Hmm...it definitely changes the mood of the song, but I don't know if it changes the meaning. It's interesting how tempo conveys emotion, though. I sort of like that this song is versatile enough to sound both sad and happy. It's beautiful either way because the words still hold the same message.
