This was very Norman Rockwell-"esque." It is an example of Americana where a father teaches his son how to shave. It covers all the nuances; skin prep, brush prep, lather building, and post shave to conclusion. Next, to actual razor handling. It is the forging of a bond to prepare a youngster for manhood. Step by step your son will gain good habits in grooming. The beauty inherit is fishing, hunting, and survival still remain to insure his success for life. It is the joy of fatherhood. This also lends weight to the fact that there are too many "baby daddies," and not enough fathers. Well done, Matt. Parker has taken his first steps into a larger world. Speak soon.
Oh yeah, Parker was over the moon about shaving after we finished the video. He started watching old videos of mine and asked him mom if she liked the way he smelled? I’ve taken Parker to the range several times. He still needs a little more trigger time before going hunting, but he gets excited about that too, when open season comes around. All of these experiences with the kids are amazing and how each one of them reacts and responds to similar situations is a joy to watch. I believe he will probably be enjoying this way of shaving sooner rather than later. As always it is a pleasure, I’ll talk to you soon Alex. Thank you, Matt
If I could only have one brush type it would most definitely be a boar. The stiffness and soft tips of a well broken in boar is hard to beat for me. Synthetics are not my favorite, although the industry seems to be migrating away from natural hair brushes. I was hoping that the synthetic would make lathering easier for Parker, and he seemed to do a good job and enjoy it.
