Great video but surely Stellarium could partner with Google earth to make an easier way😂

I wish I had a house in the alps! But have one in Virgin Islands. 😉 Thanks for the detail you go into. Very helpful.

Thank you for the video. I was actually looking how to create panoramic images from Google Earth. One thing that I found out by following your steps is that you can manually edit the Hugin project file as this is just a text file, so clicking and updating through the GUI can be bypassed. Also I believe you can just re-use this file. I am experimenting still, but here is my preliminary write-up github.com/rnnall/HuginPTOfromGEtoStellarium this also includes an example Hugin project file. This could be scripted. Next steps to figure out how to script Google Earth Pro. I also was playing with Google Earth Studio (GES) and was able to load the KML file and key frame based on the KML file, unfortunately this didn't workout as the photos image size didn't line up and puts a watermark on each image.. GES is nice as it downloads all the images into zip file no screen capture. Just have to figure out the image sizing.

Reusing the file sounds like a good time-saver, will take a look tomorrow. Thanks!

Hi, I did all the steps succesfully and the landscape appears in stellarium but when I click it the program just close. What can I do?

Hi- I'm afraid I'm not sure, that's never happened to me. If it just quits then it sounds like it's crashing. You could see if the Stellarium log file has any clues? On my windows 10 machine this is at C:\Users\James\AppData\Roaming\Stellarium so should be similar for you, just change your userprofile name in the path

I've tried this 3 times and the photos just don't line up. I copied everything you did and I cannot figure it out. The result panoramic creates duplicate rows that don't align so I get 2 horizontal rows of mountains with a blur in between them.

That sounds pretty strange. Are they actually duplicated, or is it half the images being placed above the other half?
I must admit, I've not tried it recently, so perhaps something has changed in hugin. I'll have to have another go over the weekend...

@@JamesBillingsPhotography That would be really helpful, since your tutorial is so thorough, I am perplexed why I can't get the same result. It does look like it could be misaligning them and not duplicating.

My god that's a tedious process.
Is there any way to make it faster?

Not that I've yet discovered. The website script generates all the waypoints nicely, but generating the images still takes an age. If Google earth has some sort of API or scripting ability it might be possible. Or a UI automation tool could maybe do it... I should investigate some more!
