Location of 'A Fistful of Dollars' (Hoyo de Manzanares)

Xmas card from what used to be Golden City, the filming studio of Hoyo de Manzanares (Madrid). It was the first steady western town in Europe, and gave space to a jundred movies. Sergio Leone filmed here the main exteriors of 'A Fistful of Dollars' (1964). The river sequence was in the river Alberche. The cell of Marisol and the white houses at the entrance of San Miguel were filmed in Los Albaricoques (Almería).
The Hoyo de Manzanares city council has a smartphone app, ViveHoyo, which includes an augmented reality mode with a virtual reconstruction of the old town settings.
