Although the trip was short compared to many OBX offshore ventures, it was action-packed for a couple hours - no doubt. The mate and a cooperative team did a superb job keeping everything flowing.
I'm in RI, so I'm saving up for the Frances Fleet's marathon three-day tuna trip. Those go over 150 miles out to the Canyon grounds, so many of those trips get cancelled. A private charter for tuna and mahi is beyond my budget. Those are between $1200 and $1500.
Great video!! That was some great trip you had. I am looking at trying to get a trip up this year and will have to contact this captain. Thanks for sharing the video. I really enjoyed it!! I took my first trip out last year in September and we had a great time catching Mahi Mahi and made a video of that outing.
@@hancock689 The mate and captain did a great job coordinating movement on the boat to keep lines untangled during a few multiple fish hookups. I believe we only lost one fish all day and another got taken by a shark. We're happy. We all wanted tuna loins and we got 'em.
Will Brown is an exceptional mate 🧉
This was us off Oregon Inlet ..on the Capt. BC.. early 1980s..epic trip! Slayed yellowing, mahi, white marlin! Way to go man!!
That's a workout, filling the freezer, and enjoying a couple of morning beers all before lunch. Classic nc goodness.
It was definitely an action-packed morning...the crew was awesome!
The mate deserves a Captains share .👍
Agree. Working ass off.
Deck hand was a stud! Hoped you tipped him well.

Pretty work, boys!
We had a great season off RI this year too. I envy you guys down south. Your season is so much longer.

In obx now. Going out tomorrow on the Patriot! Can't wait awesome video guys
That is what you call slamming them! IMO that is the perfect class of fish too!
What size/make boat is this?
I believe it's a 55-foot Buddy Cannaday custom...
Hello,
Going to be in OBX for a month in August and wanted to set up a charter. How do I go about that?
www.oregon-inlet.com/ There is information here about each boat in the fleet and how to book a trip. Good luck!
Great job Ken on the video. We need to book the Trophy Hunter again next year.
Yes we do
If you didn’t have the anglers sitting in chairs it would be so much easier
We go wherever the mate directs us, especially with 5 fish on. But, agree, the chair sometimes makes it a little tougher when winding.
They do it that way so the lines aren’t all over the place. Prevents tangle ups with the spread
Hancock Outdoors no not having the anglers move causes more tangles.
