- The Men’s HSBC Sevens Series continued in Singapore this weekend, and as the weekend drew to a close New Zealand and Fiji found themselves in a great position to win their first event of the 2022 season. Here are the key highlights from Day 2 including the final.

Seriously impressed by Ireland. Beat Fiji, beat USA, and only narrowly lost to NZ and Australia. Great tournament
Fiji and NZ comes back to the series with a bang and both reach the final. Not to mention both are filled with new players. Also liked what I saw from the young Samoans Australia and Ireland.
I find amazing and unbelievable that Kenya is in top 10 of any sport besides marathon running. Proud of my neighbors 👏👏

Olympic Gold and Silver medalist mean nothing. SA are ranking 1st and both 7’s and union, until those 1st place rankings have been taken away SA own the rugby world. Praise you Gold and Silver they still aren’t the best in the World.

Yes, unfortunately 12,000 crowd limit because of covid restrictions. Sold out both days but looks sparse in a huge stadium.
It's nice to see Fiji back in form. Blitzboks just not up for it this weekend, they lost against teams they've been beating the last two years. I thought they were going to struggle against NZ not USA, Fiji and Argentina.

Beating the USA, Argentina and Fiji in the process. I thought NZ were going come in and show the world why they are among the best. Fiji's 'new team' were not in old Fijian form before this tournament.

As much as I love RSA I knew with every team at full strength that unbeaten run was done

This is gonna take some work for the All blacks because there in last place and for the last 2 years the Blizboks held the standings and they have 98 points so this is gonna take a while for NZL to bounce back.
Well even Samoa aren't on the list but they'll Both make the top10 sooner...
Fiji too. WR7s should really ditch the points from the 1st four fake tournaments.

Amazing to see so many new young players and all of them look like they'll produce a lot of good sevens: Fiji, NZ, Oz, Samoa and some good young ones in Ireland, USA and Argentina too. SA just stacked full of talented players off the production line as ever.
The final was a great game: Much less interferences from the ref (partly the running game of both teams). Commentary a bit bland; just comment on the action and enjoy it over trying to sell some mail-order product over the telephone with too scripted lines and artificial enthusiasm.
Karl Te Nana needed in the commentary box and Rasta Rasivhenge for the refereeing: The best of the best for the best game in the world !! And Serevi handing out the trophy and medals... .
