John it would be sick if you did a play through using your favorite Pokémon over on the normal pm7 channel and I think it would be cool and if it has to be in a game with hm’s and Tm’s then you can quickly bring out a Pokémon that can use said Tm or hm and then put it back into the box

If John ever gets the chance to do his favorite shinies, I really want to see Hisuian Zorua up there, the white with the blue flame accents is just some of the best shiny art I’ve probably ever seen.
Neon blue is my favorite color and Hisuian Zorua’s shiny is SO FREAKING GOOD. I debated even evolving it into Zoroark because it was so cute and the blue and white looks so good

I'm _so_ lucky in a way: Hisuian Zorro is 1 of my all time favourite Pokémon outright _plus_ I don't like blue! So, naturally, I'll love the normal version, and despise the Shiny. And if I ever wind up getting the Shiny , it's basically a total freebie gift for some lucky random person (then again, I have the worst Shiny luck, so please don't get your hopes up too much lol.)

I'd love to see a shiny version of this list as well. You've mentioned liking Yellow shinies before, which are normally disliked, so it may be a good oppertunity to get people to like them!
You not doing overlaps is great, really allows a bit more of your lesser favs to also get some sunlight in the spot!
Would definitely like to see you do the shiny version, especially to see what changes that makes in your picks. I know that I, as someone who hunts a lot of shinies, am definitely influenced by a Pokémon’s shiny being bad. It’s what ruined Ceruledge for me, which I initially liked a lot
There are over 1000 pokemon but your favorite gen which has about 50-150 pokemon will probably be most likely to be a favorite. And then we factor in the personality of the person picking whether they like cute or strong mons and the color.

Also the older a gen is the more likely you’ll like it’s Pokémon because you’ve had more opportunities to use them in more games

My team ended up exactly what I was expecting Salamence (bestmon), Infernape (Second bestmon), Nidoking (Third bestmon), Greninja, Roserade and Metagross. My surprises were how much Iron Hands, Mienshao and Sneasler grew on me. Iron Hands and Sneasler were so useful in Scarlet and PLA, and after I tried Mienfoo on a recent Black playthrough, that thing is a beast, Drain Punch definitly best move ever.

Right before gen 9 came into play, I said to my friend "Game Freak better create my favorite dog breed into Pokemon" which btw Dachshunds are my favorite breed and I love Fidough/Dachsbun. Its clearly my favorite dog Pokemon hands down! Yes I like other dog Pokemon but this one has stolen my heart permanently!
1. Togekiss: something about it is just so perfect. Round friend like and super strong. Plus it brings calm joy. As you’ll notice as you go down the list I’m a fan of cute things actually being super powerful. Plus serene grace is so great.
2. Gengar: a prankster with a super simple and iconic grin. I love its glass cannon play style and like how it puts things to sleep
3. Empoleon: first Pokémon so I’m biased but I mean it’s a super sick emperor penguin with a trident on its head. Plus piplup is so cute
4. Goodra(Hisui of normal): like many I got back into Pokémon in x and y after a short break. I loved the concept of psuedo legendaries and loved even more the idea of a derpy slug being as strong as a legendary. From here hisuian goodra has got me to top 100 in the world in vgc
5. Mimikyu: I soloed my first play through of Sun and moon once I caught this guy. Didn’t touch the rest of my party. It’s so cute and small and love it’s typing. I also like how it is way more powerful then it looks. Plus it’s a mix of both of my favorite typings
6. Grimmsanrl: it has the personality of gengar mixed with a gym bro. I also love how it’s hair works almost like tendrils of goo like venom. It has a sweet typing and sweet ability to. A swole prankster I love it
7. Mawile: a great shiny and is so small yet with its mega it base attack is essentially 260 with huge power. I’ve swept many with this dude and shiny hunted it for weeks in swsh. Bring Megas back!!
8: Ampharos: my first full odd shiny and such a good one too. It’s so cute and pretty bulky for it’s time. Kinda felt like an electric starter: strong, friend, and reliable. It needs a buff in current gen it’s been power crept so hard
9: roserade: it’s design is honestly just so good and I’ve used it in every diamond pearl playthrough. It’s masked and caped up with style. Wish it was a bit stronger
10: glimmora: such a bizarre design yet so enticing. It’s a rock… no a flower. Crystalline rock with a cute little face? Sign me up. Plus it’s super cool unique ability making it such a good hazard setter. It has potential to rise through the ranks with time but I’m avoiding recency bias

My second favorite pokemon and probably the most underated one in my opinion
Do it John! Lemme see them shinies boi! Also as SOON as I saw the Ukelele Pichu in gen 4, I picked it every time. Ranger Guardian Signs was one of my favorite DS games, and I grew suuper attached to that little guy
I don't know if anyone noticed, but John and Tyler used songs corresponding with the generations of pokémon John was picking from ! I think it's a really cool detail
My respect for John went up by at least 1000% he said Decidueye was his favorite Gen 7 Pokemon, and it only continued to climb when he put it as his favorite Grass type and overall starter

Dudunsparce being included in any capacity is a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.
I would love it, if someone made a lawn or garden gnome themed pokemon, because of the fact that people generally don't see them. it would be the perfect ground or grass fairy type combination and it doesn't even need to look like a plant, such as a fruit or vegetable. it could be based off of something hilarious like dandelion fluff, with feet that have little claws, like the thorny leaves the plant is known for and the fluff itself could be hair on the creature. it could also have an equally hilarious name, one that combines dandelion and gnome somehow.

John if you think Machamp isn’t competitive,use the 3DS virtual console gen 1,and get a Machamp with no guard and fissure and destroy gen 6 and 7,it’s so much fun! Plus the shiny version of this would be super interesting

Salamence is definitely more Axolotl-like than Frog/Toad-like. Same with the Swampert line.
I'm surprised he didn't pick Raichu for his favorite Gen 1 Normal type, or Raticate for his favorite Gen 1 Electric type.

I dont know why but I love these kinds of videos. I couldnt tell my fav Pokes per type because I like so many but my fav of all time has to be Charmander. Pretty uninteresting I know but I beat Misty on a friends Gamyboy with it even though my friend couldnt do it. I was so happy that I bought the game myself and played through it with Charmander. Love Pokemon and Charmander to this day bc of that :D

We have the same favorite 2nd Gen, 5th Gen, and 7th gen pokemon. Same with favorite Water Type, Psychic type, Dragon type, and starter. We have surprisingly similar taste in Pokémon.
