That would be because the video is not what's being played. There are no mics and her intensity on hits is super low. Also the ride cymbal does some intricate work while she just lightly taps the edge.
Kaia King im a drummer, studio engineer, and did live sound for about 10 years. I know a bit about the way drums sound and what in the studio looks like. Im not saying shes not playing this song, im sure she can 100%. All im saying is what we are seeing in the video is not what we heard.
After watching the recent practice clip I'm with Dan.
I'm not trying to put her down at all, but that full makeup and hair is kinda a dead give away too. But if you go watch earlier videos of Matt McGuire he did love drums, and all the new stuff is heavily sound replaced and or not record at the same time as the video.
The really popular cover people on RUclips all do this "music video" style where the sound is dubbed over the playing. Again, hence why when he said she makes it look to easy, I said that's because that's not live of what we hear. The love audio to that is probably quiet and less dynamic/perfect than what we hear.
I don't think that you are going to see this, but you are such an inspiration to me. It's so rare to see female drummers, you are the reason I started drumming

I need a drummer who plays like you if not you. Great vid and great drum roll before going into the last chorus. I really felt that roll. You did it with the love of music deep inside you. I play drums but my baby is lead guitar. Drums make me feel uplifted. Guitar makes me feel euphoric, bass makes me feel grounded and singing makes me feel my spirit.
