Hassan is a BEAST now. Crazy that she did the triple, and got a medal in the 1500, 5000 and 10,000m in Tokyo. 2 gold and a bronze. I love watching athletics!
Nuff espect to my Trini compadres....!!! I'm #TeamJamiaca4Life but seeing another Caribbean nation- our first cousins capture that gold just thrills me 2 death!!! Reminiscent of Chris Brown and the Bahamas a few years back!!!
Donnie vincent: Nuff nuff respect.... All those years gone by, greats like Richard Thompson never got the FULL respect and accolades he so richly deserved.......
Wang, Ivanov, Lysenko, Barshim, Grabarz, Bondarenko, Ghazal, are you kidding me this has to be one of the most epic finals ever. Barshim made them look like amateurs, damn was he flying
It's completely understandable that any British athlete would get a "huge ovation"! Must these otherwise really knowledgeable announcers "bring it to our attention", "warn us" every single time. Have you nothing else to say?
Manangoi could of at least acknowledged the guy that tried to congratulate him, not just once either, but twice literally acted like the NZ guy didn't exist.
Why do these commentators assume that small countries go crazy when they achieve recognition on the international stage?i They are not low on self-esteem!
@@christophertubigan2060 Sorry; not on my small island. We have a lot more going for us. I am referring to a particular and undeniable mindset so often revealed in comments and commentary. Not going to argue about it. Cheers!
roger walters ran fourth in heats. Did not qualify on time. Ran someone that had no business on a relay team. Still gutted on a shitty decision by the coaching staff. There heads should roll for this.
No offense to Kiprop but they should have ushered him off the track after the race. There is no reason why A. He should have gotten a flag and B. Been allowed to take pictures like that with the flag with his teammates as if he won a medal. I understand pride in your country and your happy for your teammates who got gold and silver , but it causes a bit of confusion and not to mention NO other athletes were allowed to do that in there races. I mean it's not even like it was a close race for third between him and Filip of Norway. Kiprop didn't even come in 4th or 5th...he came in 9th!!! He shouldn't have been able to get a flag and take pics like that, they should have ushered him off the track at that point, it's almost like a slap in the face to Ingibrigtsen, you have to respect the process and only top three are allowed to celebrate with their flags and take part in pictures like that upon their top 3 placing.
I really like these commentators but sometimes their logic escapes me. How can being BEHIND in the finishing stages of a race ever be to one's advantage?!!
Well...in the commentators defence...you have to be a 400m athlete to understand...its slot pressure being the hunter than the hunted. Look at the 400m relay closely and you would see gordon in the last leg took his time behind and picked tbe time and place to make his move.
Christopher Innocent, I do get and respect your point, and understand that said technique is used over the longer distances. However! I don't believe that Gordon ever felt he could afford himself the luxury of "taking his time" against Kerley (sp?) ; even less so, Rooney. Given the fact that the fastest runner over the distance this year was ahead, I don't see how there could have been time for strategy. Anyway, it was a beautiful race. Feel for those young US runners; they shall feel the wrath of those with wounded pride. Peace.
Lynne Lee Luck Dowsing ..we have to remember even in a 100m race we talk of strategy and different stages of the race....and trying to be relax in the finishing stages.. having said that Gordon ran the rce of his life ...he had to. He is the type of runner that has alot of grit. You could look at his race at olymics 2012 400m. When he sucked it up to get bronze. Curly has speed but not experience. Had it been le shawn merit in the 4th leg i would not of given gordon much of a chance but experience had alot to play in the final result. Gordon new his best chance was to wait snd wait untill the last few meters...which is just what he did. It was a great race for our 1.3 milion population to enjoy..proud of our guys
Christopher Innocent, You might be right! I have no problem being wrong, so long as I eventually know the truth. However, I"m not so sure I agree with you entirely regarding any difference Le Shawn's presence might have made. I am convinced that much of the USA's success has to do with their mindset (faith moves mountains!) and that those T&T runners, equally full of self-belief, might have prevailed against any opposition. Solomon's determined steadiness, Richard's (my favourite new athlete) incredible speed, Cedenio's brilliant but underrated finishing kick, Gordon's experience and strength...beautiful, beautiful.
I see you aware of cedenio kick..... i must say i agree with you about the results might not of changed had leshawn merit ran. That particular race the guys who did not have particularly good season seem to be determined collectively to try their best. I say this because it was not that the americans ran bad but trinindad ran the best time in the world this year to win..... so it tells me they really decided to give it their all. May i ask what country you from thou???
Thank you Bolt, you are one in an era, you are history and we'll remember you for life!
Beautiful Obiri! Did a Tirunesh - simply shook off the opposition and sprinted to victory!
Congratulations to Obiri,a well deserved win for Kenya.Determination and strategy-that was an awesome strong finish.
Trinidad and Tobago did well I hope they continue
GREAT RACE TO END IT OFF...CONGRATULATIONS TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
Hassan is a BEAST now. Crazy that she did the triple, and got a medal in the 1500, 5000 and 10,000m in Tokyo. 2 gold and a bronze. I love watching athletics!
I like the Trinidad and Tobago uniform at this year world championship how the black was included with red.
Kenyan finishing Second in the table? What an achievement. Congrats all the team for participating
Nuff espect to my Trini compadres....!!! I'm #TeamJamiaca4Life but seeing another Caribbean nation- our first cousins capture that gold just thrills me 2 death!!! Reminiscent of Chris Brown and the Bahamas a few years back!!!

Bye bolt I'll miss you
Mark Thom Bolt downgraded himself from a bolt to a screw
With the USA national anthem playing three or four times a day, you end up knowing the tune by heart
It's completely understandable that any British athlete would get a "huge ovation"! Must these otherwise really knowledgeable announcers "bring it to our attention", "warn us" every single time. Have you nothing else to say?
Agreed..... weii i hope to be able to correspond with you after the next big meet
Here is a stupid question. Who doesn't know how the national anthem of Kenya goes or how the flag looks like?
Sis, i was thinking the same. And the USA. I now know the entire national anthem

Kenya had a great WC. 2nd on the medals table. A drop from Beijing 2 years ago, where Kenya was 1st, but still a very good performance.
Manangoi could of at least acknowledged the guy that tried to congratulate him, not just once either, but twice literally acted like the NZ guy didn't exist.

That isn't the only race that has happened (women's 5000 metres).
800m final, the winner from South Africa and the runner up from Brundi look like men.
to much sodium intake will raise your blood pressure because you salty asf
i think they are
That's what I'm thinking about too
This race should be null and void.
the south african runner is now banned from competing because she has a high level of testerone in her body.
