    No offense to Kiprop but they should have ushered him off the track after the race. There is no reason why A. He should have gotten a flag and B. Been allowed to take pictures like that with the flag with his teammates as if he won a medal. I understand pride in your country and your happy for your teammates who got gold and silver , but it causes a bit of confusion and not to mention NO other athletes were allowed to do that in there races. I mean it's not even like it was a close race for third between him and Filip of Norway. Kiprop didn't even come in 4th or 5th...he came in 9th!!! He shouldn't have been able to get a flag and take pics like that, they should have ushered him off the track at that point, it's almost like a slap in the face to Ingibrigtsen, you have to respect the process and only top three are allowed to celebrate with their flags and take part in pictures like that upon their top 3 placing.

    • @christopherinnocent2271
      @christopherinnocent2271 7 лет назад +2

      Well...in the commentators defence...you have to be a 400m athlete to understand...its slot pressure being the hunter than the hunted. Look at the 400m relay closely and you would see gordon in the last leg took his time behind and picked tbe time and place to make his move.

    • @lynneleeluckdowsing6654
      @lynneleeluckdowsing6654 7 лет назад +1

      Christopher Innocent, I do get and respect your point, and understand that said technique is used over the longer distances. However! I don't believe that Gordon ever felt he could afford himself the luxury of "taking his time" against Kerley (sp?) ; even less so, Rooney. Given the fact that the fastest runner over the distance this year was ahead, I don't see how there could have been time for strategy. Anyway, it was a beautiful race. Feel for those young US runners; they shall feel the wrath of those with wounded pride. Peace.

    • @christopherinnocent2271
      @christopherinnocent2271 7 лет назад +1

      Lynne Lee Luck Dowsing ..we have to remember even in a 100m race we talk of strategy and different stages of the race....and trying to be relax in the finishing stages.. having said that Gordon ran the rce of his life ...he had to. He is the type of runner that has alot of grit. You could look at his race at olymics 2012 400m. When he sucked it up to get bronze. Curly has speed but not experience. Had it been le shawn merit in the 4th leg i would not of given gordon much of a chance but experience had alot to play in the final result. Gordon new his best chance was to wait snd wait untill the last few meters...which is just what he did. It was a great race for our 1.3 milion population to enjoy..proud of our guys

    • @lynneleeluckdowsing6654
      @lynneleeluckdowsing6654 7 лет назад +1

      Christopher Innocent, You might be right! I have no problem being wrong, so long as I eventually know the truth. However, I"m not so sure I agree with you entirely regarding any difference Le Shawn's presence might have made. I am convinced that much of the USA's success has to do with their mindset (faith moves mountains!) and that those T&T runners, equally full of self-belief, might have prevailed against any opposition. Solomon's determined steadiness, Richard's (my favourite new athlete) incredible speed, Cedenio's brilliant but underrated finishing kick, Gordon's experience and strength...beautiful, beautiful.

    • @christopherinnocent2271
      @christopherinnocent2271 7 лет назад

      I see you aware of cedenio kick..... i must say i agree with you about the results might not of changed had leshawn merit ran. That particular race the guys who did not have particularly good season seem to be determined collectively to try their best. I say this because it was not that the americans ran bad but trinindad ran the best time in the world this year to win..... so it tells me they really decided to give it their all. May i ask what country you from thou???
