When I heard you talk about stepping back from your design team and bible journaling videos I was very sad. But I have to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your new method of teaching one element at a time instead of trying to do everything in one video. Having more time to devote to this method is really improving what I get from your channel. Thanks for sharing your wonderful skills!
I am happy you went back to art ....... I am thriving watching the past 2 days. Also on my walks I see art in the trees. You are focused. Thank you for teaching u#
I’ve been following you for years, have enjoyed watching you blossom. Your new intro is my favorite because we get to see your smiling face, it’s encouraging. Art should make us feel that way.
Being a teacher, I know that you believe we can all learn to do these amazing things. My question to you is this: Some people are born with this amazing talent and they continue to develop and perfect it throughout their lives. Others learn to draw and paint like you and continue to develop and perfect it throughout their lives. Do you think that someone who was not born with the talent you have can learn to be as good as you are? Is there a point where those of us who need to be taught can go no further? Interested to hear your take on it. I have learned a lot from watching you and your techniques. Thinking of taking some classes to see how far I can actually go. Thank you for your time.
I believe there’s a continuous journey. If you continue to apply yourself and you have a teachable heart, you can keep on learning. You’re only limited by the time you’re willing to put in and the years you have ahead. 🥰
I absolutely loved the idea focusing to an only one object and going in depth to it! It so much more informative! Can you please do this for clouds and grass too🥺
Sandy Loved this tutorial that you've done. I'm excited to see more of it, I'm having so much troubles shading and even picking out the copic colors that compliment the tree itself. It's been awhile since I've been on with 9 weeks of Covid and fighting against to get better. I will not let it win. But I am very Thankful that I got on here to see your amazing tutorial and to see Fridays tutorial. Thank You so much Sandy. Sending Love, Hugs and Blessings to you and your fur babies ❤ Xoxo Vicki from the State of Utah 🥰❤😊❣
We were driving up 101 on our way to Port Townsend while I was watching this video and I was checking out the trees. It’s amazing how much an artist sees compared to the average joe! I try to figure out the colors and striations but never get it right. You can bet after watching this video I will do a much better job! I have issues with figuring out colors so this was great help for me! Thank you so, so much Sandy! I LOVE your work
I am ALWAYS excited to see what you will do next. As an artist I too get bored doing the same thing over and over. I love how you have changed things up, always teaching something new. TFS
The big tree became part of the dirt it as planted in,it was so satisfying to watch. I love your work. I haven’t visited your videos for some years now, but I’m back!
The new opening is great! I love taking a deep dive into a single element of a larger project. So helpful since I struggle when creating texture with my alcohol markers.
This is a wonderfully informative video lesson you taught us today. I learned so much watching this video and have always loved your teaching style. This new style of in depth of teaching of just one main element was so enlightening for me. Thank you for posting this video lesson for us.
Sandy girl! This is a blessing!!!! I've been struggling with my coloring skills (lack of) and I'm to the point where I have to drag myself to practice. And then this video pops up and I'm inspired! I have ADD so it can be a challenge to understand things sometimes but you broke this down so wonderfully, (especially shadow, light, and texture of which I struggle) I feel like I can do this! I'm excited again! Thank you so so much for this blessing!
Extremely beautiful artwork my friend. This is high skilled talent. I am so impressed with the 3D effect of the barks of a tree look so stunning. I am your fan and I want to see more. I am new friend here..
Thank you for taking the time to explain this in detail. This is honestly the most helpful tutorial I've ever seen on both drawing trees and using alcohol markers. I have hesitated using Copics because I did not realize you could change the colors so much or fix harsh lines. The tree without the background and after - I have stopped so many times without trying to add a background and what an incredible difference it made. I am also looking forward to your upcoming video on wood drawing techniques. Not trying to be too realistic can be very refreshing sometimes.
I've just come across your channel (yes, I know, where have I been?). Thank you for sharing this! It is so effective to compare different types of bark on one sheet of paper and one video. I am going to do the same for some practice.
Great tutorial! Thank you so much! Can you do this with watercolor or gouache only? How about mixed media? Sorry, I should have waited for the end, can’t wait for next part later this week!! Clever girl! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🙏

What markers are you using? Are these effects possible using acrylic paint markers such as Molotow markers?
You’d have to try it, I really don’t know

Is this water color pen ?
Alcohol marker but you might try something similar with waterbased markers.
