For eight years they tried to use the Minsk accords to find a diplomatic solution only to be faced with the truth as expressed by Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande that the accords were bogus and meant to prepare for war. Ukraine has great industrial capabilities, which will make it economically powerful in the future. Goes without saying that after the war, Hungary won’t be offered lucrative business deals with them. There was a press conference that President Putin and Macron had where Putin agreed that the strength and potential of all the NATO countries was more than that of Russia. I believe he said, "we know", then he mentioned that Russia had more nukes and more advanced capabilities in that area and other weapon systems. So, they have deep strategic doctrines on how to defend their territories, and that includes dividing the territory into fully complemented military districts one district has more MBTs , artillery, infantry and airfwing and strategic air forces than the entirety of Baltic nations combined and now they are creating a 6th Military District courtesy of Finland joining Nato... Russia's military capacity for stockpiles and armament productions is frightening ----Ukraine allegedly knocked-off 3,000 Russsian MBTs and the Russians still have more in storage allover the place that you can see from space. Take for instance the UK built only 447 challenger 2 tanks, they are beautiful but half of them are in storage. Between Russia and India they have built 4,000 T-90's, with India building under license 1,400 units, and another 1,000 foreign sales leaving Russia with 1,600+. You'd be hard pressed to find ANY Nato country with 1,000 of anything meaningful to war and if Nato lost 3,000 of anything meaningful to an offensive, it would be gave-over, literally.... Don't even mention the T54/55s the Russians still got those in 10,000's+ in storage, and they are NOT just ancient relics they know how and when to use them, effectively....

You can’t compare hundreds of military drills to an experience in this kind of real war. Any country which gets involved will record massive casualties in the first few months of involvement until they grow or acquire the level of experience and the dogginess the Russians have. December 2021 and you will find that Russia did not only make demands regarding Ukraine, but also was demanding the end of all NATO military activity and bases in all of eastern Europe and Central Asia, and that there would be no further expansion of NATO.
Demands that Russia knew in advance would be rejected, so they could use it as an excuse to later put the blame on NATO for their invasion of Ukraine, that they obviously had already planned a very long time in advance.
Russia broke the accords by keeping proxies and PMCs in Ukraine. Ukraine raised this with the UN and had this blocked by Russia

Whilst apparently completely unaware that the NATO weapons the Ukrainians have been using to such devastating effect are mostly not the latest and greatest but rather the near obsolete often multiple generations out of date remnants of NATO’s back catalogue.

Russia is outproducing shells, ammunition and new weapons seven times faster than the whole of NATO countries combined and logistics is the number one requirement in any war and I can tell you exactly why. It is because Russian weapons and Ammunition are all produced in house from materials to manufacture (Russia has the worlds largest reserves of raw materials. Western weapons and ammo rely on parts and materials and chemicals from hundreds of different companies from numerous different countries all over the world which includes China for chemicals to make explosives by the way, so ramping up production for NATO can be almost impossible but Russia whose government controls the production rather than for profit share holders can and has ramped up production over night. Russia also has the best air defense system in the world with the S400 and S500. They also have hypersonic missiles which can and are taking out our stuff before we even know its coming. Ukraine losses have been huge like he said around half a million killed and probably double that number injured and maimed. Ukraine are now kidnapping people off the streets to send to the front line there are videos of this all over the internet they are that desperate. They are sending women and anyone between 18 and 60 years old to the front line and they have asked other countries to forcibly send back people who have left the country so that they can be forcibly send them to the front line. Ritter and MacGregor are analogous to a man trying to predict the finishing time of a marathon runner. “He’s going to cross the finishing line in the next five minutes” they say. Every five minutes for the last 16 hours…
At this point it has long since ceased to be possible to portray this as a prediction based on evidence and analysis. Even if that marathon runner does eventually finish “in the next five minutes” they can’t be considered to have correctly predicted this.

Decommissioning weapons is a very expensive process. Also, by helping Ukraine, Britain is opening doors for trade and tech businesses in the future. Ukraine has great industrial capabilities, which will make it economically powerful in the future. Goes without saying that after the war, Hungary won’t be offered lucrative business deals with them. By not helping Ukraine now, many Ukrainians will die and Britain won’t benefit from Ukraine becoming one of the big economic powers in Europe. Yours is is truly heartless and short sighted viewpoint.

@@monaliza3334 Only in a role that was limited to advising and training the Ukraine forces in manoeuvre warfare and better infantry combined arms tactics, not in any appreciable numbers or in any direct combat roles. IF there were any NATO special forces (SAS, SBS, etc) then that would have ben restricted to gathering information on Russian deployments, equipment and other battlefield intelligence, possibly including targeting coordinates for drone strikes.

There was a press conference that President Putin and Macron had where Putin agreed that the strength and potential of all the NATO countries was more than that of Russia. I believe he said, "we know", then he mentioned that Russia had more nukes and more advanced capabilities in that area and other weapon systems. What he was saying for those who want to listen is that he's aware that a conventional war will be lost by Russia therefore he would not start one, but if NATO starts one Russia is prepared to nuke them even if that means mutual destruction. he once said that a world without Russia would not be a world worth living in.

So, they have deep strategic doctrines on how to defend their territories, and that includes dividing the territory into fully complemented military districts one district has more MBTs , artillery, infantry and airfwing and strategic air forces than the entirety of Baltic nations combined and now they are creating a 6th Military District courtesy of Finland joining Nato...
Russia's military capacity for stockpiles and armament productions is frightening ----Ukraine allegedly knocked-off 3,000 Russsian MBTs and the Russians still have more in storage allover the place that you can see from space. Take for instance the UK built only 447 challenger 2 tanks, they are beautiful but half of them are in storage. Between Russia and India they have built 4,000 T-90's, with India building under license 1,400 units, and another 1,000 foreign sales leaving Russia with 1,600+. You'd be hard pressed to find ANY Nato country with 1,000 of anything meaningful to war and if Nato lost 3,000 of anything meaningful to an offensive, it would be gave-over, literally....
Don't even mention the T54/55s the Russians still got those in 10,000's+ in storage, and they are NOT just ancient relics they know how and when to use them, effectively....

You can’t compare hundreds of military drills to an experience in this kind of real war. Any country which gets involved will record massive casualties in the first few months of involvement until they grow or acquire the level of experience and the dogginess the Russians have. The Russians are prepared to take punishment and dish out their own massive punishment to their enemies. I don’t think any western military is ready for that dogginess and callousness.

Russia had planned this invasion a long time before it happened and also made "peace treaty" demands that they knew in advance that NATO would never be able to agree to, just go look for > Russia issues list of demands to NATO - DW < the 17. December 2021 and you will find that Russia did not only make demands regarding Ukraine, but also was demanding the end of all NATO military activity and bases in eastern Europe and Central Asia, and that there would be no further expansion of NATO.
Demands that Russia knew in advance would be rejected, so they could use it as an excuse to later put the blame on NATO for their invasion of Ukraine, that they obviously had already planned, because such large scale invasion plans you cannot make from one week or month to the next, but need to be made a very long time in advance.
