Just like a electric guitar is still a guitar a electric violin is still a violin. And neither of these are digital instruments (with a few exceptions).
@@Clayne151 I beg to differ playing an acoustic violin requires such a different skill set in the touch and feel of the instrument. Maybe guitar doesn’t differ much but you just can’t compare those to real violins

Actually an electric guitar differs more from a concert guitar in how it plays than a normal (4 string, unfretted) electric violin from a acoustic.
