You get a bonus song this week! I tweaked some of Synthia's prompting, to try and (a) avoid generating duplicate memories now that she picks a memory first, and (b) encourage a wider range of emotions than just "calm, happy, or vaguely sad".
The thing about avoiding duplicate memories is that unlike picking a topic first, the memories are full paragraphs. Putting all her memories into a prompt would get long and expensive (since OpenAI is pay-per-token) quickly; but putting none of them in, like she's been doing, means she has no way of knowing what memories she's already written about. So I compromised: she gets free reign to imagine any memory first, then if that's too close to an existing memory, she's asked to try again and given the existing memory in the prompt. Rinse and repeat until the memory she imagines isn't too similar to any existing memory. This way, we only need to include a small subset of memories in the prompts to avoid duplication, rather than all of them.
Hopefully it'll have an impact going forward, but in the meantime, here's the song she wrote while I was testing the changes!
