If you quit the government job and willing to go to the corporate sector, then MBA will be useful for you. Otherwise, you can pursue Masters in Public Policy. Public policy area is very good for Government officers as they involve in Policy formulation at some point of time. If you already hold masters degree, you can apply for FPM in public policy area which is equivalent to that of Ph.D.

Hey! Is it compulsory to stay in iim hostels or you can stay outside campus with family?
you have to pay the hostel fee. You can stay somewhere else if there are special circumstances but a room will be allocated to you on campus
