Jaws Unleashed is a action-adventure video game inspired by the 1975 film Jaws by Steven Spielberg. The game features open world gameplay, with the player assuming control of a great white shark and being able to roam freely throughout the water, feeding on other animals and humans, while destroying everything in its path. 30 years after the events of the first film, Amity Island is growing, making corporate connections with prestigious companies like Environplus to improve the island's economy. The increased population around the island and industrial activity has also attracted Earth's most fearsome creature and the game's main character: Jaws, an enormous great white shark. When the son of Environplus CEO Steven Shaw is eaten by the ferocious beast, Shaw hires renowned shark hunter Cruz Raddock to track down and kill the shark. Meanwhile, marine biologist Michael Brody tries to capture the shark for research. Players are introduced to the controls and abilities of Jaws in a tutorial, where the player kills several divers, learns to attack swimmers at a beach, and must destroy a set of docks. Brody shows up at this point, captures Jaws, and transports him to Amity's marine theme park, similar to SeaWorld

I'm glad people remember Jaws Unleashed. Loads of people think Maneater is the first shark game and that it's doing something groundbreaking...
As the players who got this back then seeing maneater makes our dreams come true but i think this game had way more better soundtracks also it's good that producers didn't stop at the game Depth divers vs sharks instead they made a free roam open world game

Fun Fact: The same company that made this game, made "Ecco the dolphin" on the Sega Genesis. This was the company's last game before they've ceased operations completely.

The shark animations are surprisingly much less clunkier than man eater.. i love this hame and still have it on my pc.. seeing this right after maneater made me realise how good this game actually is

This was the game that maneater tried to recreate and didnt quite get there, this game will always hold a special place in our hearts
Maneater was nothing compared to this masterpiece. Someone needs to revive Appaloosa and let them make Jaws Unleashed 2. The cliffhanger still bothers me.

I remember putting countless of hours in this game on my PS2 11 years ago and it's so addicting and amazing. I bought the Maneater for my PS5 last night and it's just as good as Jaws: Unleashed!!! 🦈🌊
Since the movie jaws is so iconic and a classic movie in filmmaking blockbuster history I’m literally surprised that so far there has not been a remake of jaws unleashed for PS4 or PS5

Jaws needs to be remastered for ps5 . That will draw lots of fans like me who played the game 18 years ago. The film will always be my favorite childhood movie. The shark didn’t even scare me.

Although I loved this game so much as a kid and still trying to find it and I cannot find it anywhere but I do like how man eater is coming out plus this game inspired them to make man eater, jaws unleashed was pretty dam good for it's time and I've been wanting to play it again for 7 years now, but I have big hopes for man eater but a REMAKE for jaws unleashed would be awesome
It's free on myabandonware and works well on current systems. Runs at 30fps and you have to rebind the controls though. Still better than maneater.

I specifically went to a flea market style garage sale at our local fair to buy this game and PS2. I wouldn't leave till I had them. Played the shit out of it just as I did when I was younger. Almost beat it.

Yea. I never got out to sea, but being a kid, didnt know about whale sharks. I forgot what they're called, the orange spots sharks that eat plankton, and got scared during the tutorial where we could turn back to try to head back out to sea and the big orange sharks blocked the way.

As a kid I was constantly DROOLING about this game, you're a shark that eats people and for a 9-10yo boy that's all' you need to have fun, but sadly I couldn't play It so I just watched videos about It on youtube, this was the shit back then bro XD

If you wanna play but don't wanna master the abilities by doing various side missions and finding collectibles or just play certain levels again you have two options. When you create a save game profile write Blooood with 4 o's and you get million ability points which means right after you start the game you can upgrade yourself to latest level. There was also one with Shaaark but I'm not sure about how many A's you need to write. When you do you open the mission/chapter select menu when you start the game. However updrage points are less than million so if you choose future levels ahead of the game. You'll be defenceless lol. I remember launching angry armada with no upgrades :)

Just by playing this you already scored a like from me. Liked the kind of eating system better in this one than in the maneater. At least you can feel like you're chewing. The Maneater immediately swallows every human. Well at least it seems that way from the demo.
Btw, I liked the game. Didnt remember much how it went though. All I remember how I was stuck when facing the Orca in the aquarium. Took me so long to figure out you need to hit it with a screwdriver/corkscrew attack to stun it, then take bites out of it. Didnt remember how the rest went though.

this is such a crazy game when you think about it, playing as a mindless mass murdering shark
as a kid in wildwood new jersey one summer on vacation in the 80’s .. we had beach front hotel room, we saw a bunch of people gathered around something near waters edge, so as a kid me and my sisters ran to see what it was,, turns out it was a dead shark washed up... we did take a bunch of photos of it, with Posing,, I grew up a little more i ended up looking through the family albums.. I realize what kind of shark it was , a 8 or 9 foot white shark, Had no jaws or teeth... As a kid I always thought it was a basking shark or something it had no teeth and i never thought people would actual kill the thing. one picture we took was me about 9 years old with one leg on top of the shark... like king of the Mountain.. when i got old anof to understand more of what i saw.. the poor shark was Probably caught off the shore, Then killed , then they took its Jaws. and dumped the body... body then washed up on shore...
