Thanks you for the comprehensive instructional video Larry, I was looking forward to seeing how your machine works. You did a great job demonstrating the Beach Hunter, I would love to have one just like it next summer, looks like an excellent machine! I also appreciate you dedicating this video to me and your kind comments...you are a great friend! Happy Hunting Buddy!
uncle John lost ring finders inspires me as well :) he's a great guy !As are you my friend take care and HH! i think i like that detector the trick is how to convince my wife i need another detector lol :)
Great vid GG1, comprehensive explanations, always interesting to look at the kit other blokes are using and the ideas and adaptations they develop themselves. That little perspex doohickey to stop the coil swivelling is a great idea, wouldnt cause any problems with 'drag' on a land detector. Might try something like that on my Infinium. Well done mate and happy hunting.
Yep, me too I double check an iffy target with Disc after I scoop out some of the sand if I'm not sure if its good stuff or not. I love hunting in All Metal mode, probably 95% of the time but, switching over to Disc to double check a deep target has saved my poor old back many times. I do believe that I passed up a few good deep hits on my last hunt though by not double checking. My headphones broke and I was on the way back to the truck I should have double checked. Take care and thanks. Greg
@NQExplorers Thanks mate!Great point! It would save you time on that coil of yours moving in the rough terrain. I haven't seen one used on a land detector yet.But even setting your detector down moves one out of place.HH!
Thanks a lot Michael! Yeah,my wife knows what i'm up to.Can't fool someone you been married to a long time.I used to ask for car parts for Christmas. Now it will be detector related stuff.HH!
All metal about 12" Disc i lose about 4 inches. Beaches vary though. Here machines don't get affected by the sand. In Florida you can't ground balance one due to this.
@themetaldetectorguy Yeah, those caps are made of some type scrap metals.I think they must contain even a little nickel to slow down rusting while it is on the bottle.
@LostRingFinders Thanks for being a great friend Uncle John! I'll post more stuff on it later when i have more spare time.Been doing speed detecting today! I'm sure i'll slow down come winter.Hope there will be some good cuts to check out when it's cold and guys can't get out to post videos!Never freezes here enough to matter!
@1smokingunz I got it from kellyco.Only problem is we are both in Florida,so they charge me sales tax.Hoping to get a tesoro sand shark from somewhere else to avoid tax.Lot of money added to the bill otherwise. Here it is 7%.The stock shaft kills your wrist.I already had carpal tunnel surgery. So i get as comfortable stuff as i can.It also keeps you from tiring as quick.HH!
thanks for the vid..where did you buy your straight shaft?got to get one for mine.dont care to much for the factory one.bought mine this yr.but havent struck gold with it yet. good luck!!
Ok, let me ask you another question. Do you always trust the tone in All Metal by itself, or do you double check the LED's ? The reason I'm asking is sometimes when I get a good solid hit in AM and it grunts but doesn't echo or double tone the LED's jump from yellow to green and it's a quarter down as deep as 14" or so. I had a silver Walking Liberty Half to do the same thing 12-14" in wet sand. I guess it's best to dig anything that doesn't trigger the red LED if your not 100% sure in AM.
This is a great video. I am thinking of buying this as my next detector, but I have to see how it works with euro coins first, you don't happen to have any of those around do you? lol
@jmwnycprr Thanks man! We just got back out of the hospital at 11:30 last night. That place is driving me nuts! Hope to maybe get out tomorrow in the water by my house if all goes well.I think prison is better than a hospital room! At least prison all you got is your cell mate messing with you.Hospitals got plenty of replacements to keep you awake 24 hours a day!
I'll dig all the deep targets unless it starts showing it's iron. I like using reverse discrimination. Run it in all metal. Then when you get the hole dug a bit, stick it in disc.
@thelockkk I'm still trying to find my first euro around these parts.I'll likely buy some foreign coins when i cash in my clad at the end of the year.Don't know how you guys find so many?lol!
Do you seem to notice that ferrous iron and nails most always give a low grunt tone on the beach when hunting in All Metal Mode even though they say that the tones aren't different in All Metal? I have a BHID and every time I hunt on the beach In All Metal and it gives a low grunt tone it's always a piece of rusty iron, nails, or some kind of ferrous material. But then the tone for good stuff in All Metal is always higher pitched. Have you noticed this too or is it just me? Greg

It does at times. But you can also sort of notice a double tone that lets you know it is iron at times.
