Al Mierz That wasn’t with the 351C. That was later on when using a 499 inch BBF Wedge. By then, most racers were using juice. The “Dodge” boys, Alderman and Geoffrion were the ones that won a bunch of races on juice, hence their shop getting “broken into” and “vandalized.” Heck, Alderman had two nitrous backfires on the starting line, which really made people start to wonder. Weak points can be replaced. Restrictions can be removed. The Cleveland engine is interesting in particular. Big block Chevy styled heads with canted valves that sit on top of a small block. There actually wasn't a small block head by any oem manufacturer that could stand up to the Cleveland head's flow until 1997 when GM debuted the LS1. 2-bhp per cubic inch, (461cid) naturally aspirated, pump gas, 13:1 compression @ 8k revs. The factory Cleveland heads have potential, but those aluminum heads must open a wormhole!

Shit box... Just that the Windsor is usually restricted by bore size/wall thickness...meaning that they are usually under square....for a 461(crate).. longer stroke than the bore diameter... to hit high rpm(i would call 8200 high).. it is usually oversquare...and the SBF Windsor does not have enough meat between the cylinders to go too far over square..

I don’t mean to split hairs over this fantastic illustration, but I honestly wished that it was electronic fuel injection rather than mechanical fuel injection. Top points for the amazing work on this consumer ready package 👍🏻
Wow that's impressive considering it's putting out 125 Nm/L at the point of peak torque. V8 supercar engines do 124 Nm/L, and the 2.4 V8 F1 car engines used to do 140 Nm/L.
Mind blowing stuff, and this engine just sounds so smooth. Are there induction options to fit under a Falcon XA bonnet? Would have to put a Lenco behind that, and a lightweight 9 inch with detroit center, and go for a record around Bathurst.
@@fullboost ...yes, I hear ya......how is this possible? is this because of the chamber? or have you found that 93 octane is all that is needed for 13 to 1
@@harryharry3193I was also wondering about detonation on 93 aki. 13:1 seems a bit high. If they mirror polish the chambers, and supply enough fuel, it would help, but I’d feel more comfortable with it if it had water/methanol injection at wide open throttle or dropping it to 12:1.
It's good to see that it's possible n/a but, I am certain that the reasonable and intelligent HP/$ threshold is far surpassed. One would be much better off producing a basic 393/408/418/427/436 stroker with a roller cam 351w block, adding some heads that cost between $800-$1900 a set complete, a nice sized cam, port injection, Terminator X and a simple 78/75 VS turbo kit that would allow them to.produce 900hp crank with ease, might want to move towards E85 pump fuel instead of 93/94 octane and be capable of well over 1000hp if the fuel system is there while spending quite a bit less and having way less on the line if the thing breaks along with an ungodly Tq curve without the added cost, wear.complexity of high rpms to reach the numbers or the razor thin tuning window 13:1 compression must dictate.
Although this is pretty cool it isn’t realistic for regular street cars. You could never fit that under a hood with the carb sitting a mille high. You also can’t find 98 octane fuel here
13:1 compression is WAY TO HIGH for normal pump gas. And I have not seen 98 octane at the pumps in over 20 years. 8200 RPM is not from a street motor, again I am sorry. In spite of my disagreements, producing this HP is insane and a bloody great job. Super pro's that have dedicated their lives can only have the CHANCE to achieve this.
98 Ron is the same as 93 Aki pump fuel.. Static compression and dynamic compression are two different things. Higgins / Dandy Engines have built heaps of these street engines.
What's the hose from the rocker cover to the pump thing for? I've seen a video of a 300whp NA Honda make an extra 5whp when they attached a vacuum cleaner to the rocker breathers lol. Is this a similar contraption haha??
BOO' that's a bit harsh when you are as ignorant - while some vehicle will use an auxiliary vacuum pump for the brake booster/servo, that is not what is shown here. It is a vacuum/scavenge pump used to create a low pressure in the crankcase to reduce windage losses. It is increasingly common to use a hydraulic servo' on modified vehicles where a hydraulic power steering pump is fitted, as the pump can be used for the servo' as well as the steering rack.
With Factory heads we ran 11.7. Add Aluminium and it is worth a point so 12.7. More modern Combustion Chambers than the Factory Heads and add a bit more. With the better more modern Combustion Chamber Flame front propogation is better so not as much timing needed so safer. Then ultimately, to get an engine making big numbers comes big Cams. Big durations vent compression so static Comp is a Big number but Dynamic Comp or Cylinder Pressures come down the more duration you have. I hope that helps. By the way, our built for Street Strip Clevo's are running Mid 12's:1 quite often on our 98 RON which is US 93. with no issues at all usually with cams over 250deg@50" and total timing of 26-28deg. Cheers. I hope I gave you a decent explanation.
So what do numbers look like for big block ford running higgins parts ported to the max. And using a belt instead of chain. And bigger valves and taller lift with aluminum rods and of course best cam for high end power and four bolt main on all five mains full build all the tricks in the book roller rockers and all that on 460 junkyard virgin block. And would it handle twin turbos. PROFESSIONAL COMENTS ONLY. This smal block made almost a grand hp the big block without turbos shld have way more rite??
If we could only sit every Chevy owner down and make them watch this. It may still be impossible to get them to see? You can bring a horse to water. But, you can't make him see.
I'd like to get one of these engines strapped into some Chevy something or other, win a Ford Vs.Chevy shootout. Then pop the hood. Bam! Ford can even carry a certified shit box into the winners circle! Ford wins again!

Can someone tell me how the bloody hell do those guys in Street Outlaws get 1500 hp? I know they use 6 litre big blocks with pro chargers or twin turbos, but i see other cars with that size motor and prochargers only giving around 500 - 600 hp? How the hell do they get well over 1000?
What about us Big Block Ford guys who love the 385 series engines, why waste your time on a small block 461 cubic inch motor when you can have the grunt and torque of the big block!
About 100 kilos extra weight comes with what is basically a truck motor. Lot of weight over the front wheels and because of the size 385's are a tight squeeze in most medium size cars. Lots of money getting them to fit.

Glen Tight, Should it not be able to turn 8200? I’ve seen plenty of big blocks do the same...
Richard Skipper
Yep... no drama.. small stroke 8000 rpm all day.
Holy Cow..! That thing was Singing a Song...👍I want one...
Damn ! I got a hard on just looking at the final run-- 979 horse power ! Even Glidden didn't achieve that with his engine. ( with a single 4 barrel, no less !) What a difference years, exceptional cylinder heads, and technology make ! That engine is the cat's meow !
You Aussies rock !
Glidden made his numbers with around 337 to 342 cubes !!
@@arkhsm You are absolutely right. I was in no way saying anything bad about Bob at all. He had to work within a very tight framework of rules. And he was the best at it, bar none ! He was a hustler, that’s why he was called “ mad dog” ! He most definitely eclipsed the above mark with his Boss 429 engine, though !
@@jimmywaters3987 I've got a signed by Bob dollar bill sitting on the Revell model of his '87 T-bird. I visited the US from NZ in '87, doing a 10,000-mile lap in the $400 '73 Mercury Monterey I bought in LA. I stopped in at the Texas Motorplex to watch Big Bad Bob mow down all the GM Stuff. Has to be one of THE best times of my life !!
That guy’s sitting up there flogging on it all day!! It’s a beast! Put it in a cage! Wish it was mine!
Wow- that's very impressive...
I love Ford engines but they're so damn expensive to build but then again at least they're not as expensive as a Mopar
The BBF Ford 460 / stoker platform is not that expensive and it is easy to make mad power.
Especially Hemi engine
Well that argument is over. Nuthin is cheap anymore.
I call bs . Once you're nolonger a street car. You're losing a testical lol
If I ever win the lottery I'm buying a motor from dandy racing with Higgins stuff that's guaranteed
I don’t mean to split hairs over this fantastic illustration, but I honestly wished that it was electronic fuel injection rather than mechanical fuel injection.
Top points for the amazing work on this consumer ready package 👍🏻
It uses a BRE , Book Racing Enterprises , carburettor ? What fuel injection ?
wont really make a difference
Sard Engineering, 4500 carburetor, not injection...
Not Stupid what drugs are you on?
Not Stupid you can introduce fuel at the same point using efi too by that logic and efi is more stable. Top fuel dragsters use efi. End of.
Almost 1000hp n/a... Deeecent
Its not the HP thats decent, its the 700lb/ft you should be excited about
Neil Venables agreed. Thats mental for n/a
How do you got 1000 hp to the 🚗
934 hp they in. How was dune. They is cool can till my they
Justin griffith can you form a complete sentence?
Wow that's impressive considering it's putting out 125 Nm/L at the point of peak torque. V8 supercar engines do 124 Nm/L, and the 2.4 V8 F1 car engines used to do 140 Nm/L.
Its not surprising its line ball torque/litre to V8SC. Both use canted valve Cleveland style heads.
That’s sick as hell, about 2hp per c.i.
THAT'S FUCKING INSANE, AND I LOVE IT NICE WORK GUYS.
I've got it. the more money I spend, the more horsepower I get. Not like the old days where ingenuity played a big part. Rich kids win. poor kids-SOL.
Great video, would anyone know the cost of engine set up?
Geez, a small block Ford Engine revving to 8 grand ! That's impressive right there :)
A huge crank throw 461 cube monster Small Block !!
I'd love to know what this engine costs. Amazing power for NA and pump gas.
chris. CNC ported! Who knows but $$$$$
I have to believe it's at least $25K
It's an amazing feat to say the least.
wow! I'm impressed, so impressed, I subscribed 😊
One hell of a lobe on that cam 🤘 looks as wide as it is tall
13 to 1 on pump fuel? Australia must have some awesome pump fuel.
It's basically the same as 93 AKI fuel , what USA has.
@@fullboost my mind is blown, 13 to 1 on 93 seems like a ticking time bomb, but I'm not a professional engine builder either.
@@fightfanian See the Street Machine Aussie article on Alon Vella's Drag Challenge Ford Capri !!
Mind blowing stuff, and this engine just sounds so smooth. Are there induction options to fit under a Falcon XA bonnet? Would have to put a Lenco behind that, and a lightweight 9 inch with detroit center, and go for a record around Bathurst.
Will it sit in traffic all day in hot weather and not overheat? if not race car stuff.
wonder what it would do on E-85
very impressive. Care to elaborate on 13 to 1 compression and pump gas?
thanks.
This combo runs on 93aki / 98ron pump unleaded 👍
@@fullboost ...yes, I hear ya......how is this possible?
is this because of the chamber?
or have you found that 93 octane is all that is needed for 13 to 1
@@harryharry3193I was also wondering about detonation on 93 aki. 13:1 seems a bit high. If they mirror polish the chambers, and supply enough fuel, it would help, but I’d feel more comfortable with it if it had water/methanol injection at wide open throttle or dropping it to 12:1.
How do you run 13:1 without knock on pump gas?
What's the cam specs?
JOSE CHUNG'S FROM OUTER SPACE! Its pump gas. It all has to do with the dynamic compression ratio
98-ron has a lot to do with it.
also, how much is this intake/cylinder head package? I couldn't find the price in the site?
How do you keep it together at 8200 rpm? That's Nascar territory.
What ia the price on this particular package.
Will it work on a dart block
Dyno numbers are above 6 grand. Not sure what that does for you on the street. Lol. Still impressive!
Some people want an n/a engine, they sound great
Think about how nasty a 900hp 5.2 flat plan crank would sound
What heads do you have that would put out those numbers on a Stroked 347 Ford Block with a 70mm Turbo?
Although this is pretty cool it isn’t realistic for regular street cars. You could never fit that under a hood with the carb sitting a mille high. You also can’t find 98 octane fuel here
98ron octane is the same as 93aki octane.
whats a head/ intake package worth..ready to bolt on?
Will these heads bolt on my chevy, LS forums say they have the same bolt pattern???
What’s the cost on the heads?
Boostedboiz
Vacuum pump
Mick D how does a street motor need a vacuum pump.. 😂
Rome3aaro because too much cam imbecile. Now do you want a good vacuum to the brake booster or run over the crowd.
That's dope as hell!! ✊🏽😎🤙🏽
But you can't forget all that sea level air down there in oz. It helps a lot.
Killer ford power love it
Wow. U guys are crazy. Good job.
What type of belt drive timing chain setup are they using?
Looks like a Jesel belt drive
Simon C thanks, looks lot a lot of awesome!👍
Lets see if a local 454 can match that.
Cant
Shit easy
Freaking sweet, thats a really nice looking block. Only part that made me giggle is the bowtie engine on the screen when its a ford block
What did this engine build cost?
I just want to know and I'm from the US how do you run a 13 to 1 compression on pump gas I don't want to seem stupid but I really want answers
How much are them heads.?
So what do numbers look like for big block ford running higgins parts ported to the max. And using a belt instead of chain. And bigger valves and taller lift with aluminum rods and of course best cam for high end power and four bolt main on all five mains full build all the tricks in the book roller rockers and all that on 460 junkyard virgin block. And would it handle twin turbos. PROFESSIONAL COMENTS ONLY. This smal block made almost a grand hp the big block without turbos shld have way more rite??
Shat is the difference in the curve when you take off that huge carb spacer?
Do you make a head and intake combo like this for a 460 big block?
Bob Keller MBE AND JON Kaase
Glorious sound!!
That motor should run a 9 in my car so when can you ship It to me?
Small block Ford outdoing Chevy Big Blocks who would have guessed LOL us Ford guys knew all along
Isn't this what we used to call a Clevor?
when i turn the aircon off - i make this much in my Honda.........
Matthew Smyk I’m sure you do .honda’s are rubbish
Gaz Girl - its like shooting fish in a barrel!!
This engine makes more power on one cylinder than all of your hondas
Thought l pretty smart around engines & engine tech. How do u get a 13:1 comp engine 2 Run on 98 Octane Fuel. If the guy had said 11:1 or even 11.5:1 l could have accepted those no's. Pls explain. Other than that.... Higgins does fabulous work.
Dandy engines is without a doubt the best in the business.
Boost.
I'll make sure to get rice heads for my car.
I wish we had pump98!!! Up here in canada all we got is 91...
Your fuel is measured differently (AKI) so the equivalent of our 98 would be 93 in Canada. 👍
RESPECT!
