- Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to watch this video. It is very hard for me to share this video with you all. But I want to help my friends with the recent sudden loss of their child to cancer. This news is still incredibly raw to me and everyone who knew her. Elayna was a beautiful little soul, loved by so many. I know that many of you are parents, and you know that the worst fear is having to say goodbye to your precious baby. This loss is only compounded by the expenses that come along with burying a loved one. Even if you cannot donate monetarily, if you can just take a moment to send a prayer or positive healing energy to her parents, it is so greatly appreciated.

Bless your heart for thinking about your friend. My heart is breaking in so many ways. I completely understand how your friend is feeling I lost my 15 year old son to cancer 1/2/15. I still struggle everyday to get past this. I am praying for comfort and peace for your friend and her family as well as for you. 💚💜
I am so sorry for your loss. It’s so unfair. Children should be carefree and not have to deal with this. My 10 year old daughter lost a friend to cancer a year ago. She was diagnosed right after finishing kindergarten. She beat it a couple times but it came back and it took her. Fly with the angels Elayna and Maddy.

Words cannot begin to express how sad losing a child to Cancer is. I will be keeping you, your friends Lucy and Jake, and especially Elayna in my prayers. Oh Melanie, I couldn’t bear to watch the entire video the first time. My daughter lost a child 11 years ago and for the last two years has been battling her own cancer. So truly sorry.

I’m glad you shared it and I think you are rightly putting actions to your care for your friend and her husband. Something this big is too hard to carry alone. I’m sorry & saddened to hear this heartbreaking story. My love & hugs to all who loved Elayna. I’m sorry I could only manage a small donation but I guess every little bit helps. I don’t believe that any parent should have to bury their child, let alone pay for it...not to mention after the debilitating costs of chemotherapy (my Dad had cancer when I was in high school. We live in Australia so I’m sure the costs weren’t as astronomical as the US but I do remember it was definitely a struggle). Wouldn’t it be a wonderful thing if it became the norm for people to donate in order to help others with funeral costs? It’s just a horrible final blow after an already horrendous event.

Cancer is tough. I have had it in my family. All people have died from it, my grandma (breast turned brain tumor), an aunt (breast turned bone), another aunt (pancreatic, and all over, much too late), a friend of my youngest aunt (breast turned brain tumor). Then my mom's cousin was the last person we lost to cancer (ovarian and cervical). It's not easy losing people, most of all to cancer. It is such an erratic disease. Some people get it, others don't. I am long over the fact that there is "things" that can cause it. You are either so lucky or you aren't, is my take on it. It was incredibly hard watching this video because it brings so many memories back for me of the struggles of friends and relatives. :( But I think this is a necessary video. We just moved and my kids started a new school which happens to be Elyana's. We recieved the email on Wednesday. My heart breaks for her family, especially since Thursday was the 1st day of school and everyone posts back to school photos. The school does seem to be very supportive, you can tell the community is grieving. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
I'm so sorry your kiddos will not be able to meet Elayna. She was such a beautiful child. I now Lucy has felt very lucky to be in your community. Everyone has been such a source of constant support for them over the last few years.

I lost my best friend this summer to pancreatic cancer. It was his heart that his story, from beginning to end, be very public so that people SEE cancer! He felt like people are still too hush hush about it, about the harder parts about it, and he wanted everyone to see every part of his life with it, because he believes there will be cures. I say all of this to say, thank you so much for using your platform. I know you're trying to help your friends, but you told Elayna's story. You didn't try to make it pretty. Cancer is not pretty. That was my friend, Chad's heart. As soon as I am able to donate, I will.
To Jake and Lucy, there's no greater loss, and no words of comfort that I could even try to say. But God is the Great Comforter. And I will most certainly pray for you. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.
